View 2 RepliesI'm using FDT 3 and Ant to make a jsfl file that is then executed to compile fla's and I'm trying to figure out how to get the jsfl to remove the aso files. I've tried storing the path to the aso files in a property in Ant the is then added to the jsfl when its created and it works to remove the aso file but it means that everyone must edit that property to fit their machine, we are using Macs and Windows.
My question is, is there a way to have jsfl find and delete the aso files?
Since Flash 5.5 by default saves files in 5.5 format that's incompatible in 5.0 editors we need a way to save .fla files in older format with a JSFL script. Can this be done? How?
Background: One of our developers installed the Flash IDE 5.5 and ran a modifying script on hundreds of fla files that we have. The changes were ok, but the file save format was not. It automatically saved the 5.0 files in 5.5 format that can not be opened on the 5.0 IDEs.
We could restore files from backups or he could go trough each file manually saving them with the save as dialog. I'd prefer to find a way to batch save .fla files in older formats like Flash IDE 5.0. JSFL would look close to optimal, but I could not find a way to save the files with specific flash version in mind with it.
I have downloaded a program called "Piecemaker". Its a flash based image/album slider. Package came with a .fla file and some .as files. I want to make couple of small changes (change the hard coded text) in the code and then rebuild the .swf file. Can you please tell me how I can do that? I am not a flash/flex developer. I am a Java developer and looking for some guidance on the software I should download and how to compile/build.
View 1 RepliesI want to know how can i compile my .fla + .as files to a swf without usingthe Flash CS4 Wizard. This requirement is because i wantto generate automatic builds. I have read about compiling with Adobe FlashCS4CommonConfigurationActionScript 3.0asc_authoring.jar
View 1 RepliesMy aim is to compile bulk FLA's (say 50). can we compile .FLA's without using Flash IDE using command Line?If so how it can be done.provide with an example.I have used JSFL concept for publishing bulk FLA's. But it will work using Flash IDE. This is not what i need.
View 1 RepliesI've got the environment variables in Win7 set-up so that I can compile .as files through prompt.But it shows some warning about not having FactoryClass, so I can't compile using shared libraries. How can I compile the file with classes and libraries imported?I'm trying to compile with mxmlc file.as
View 1 RepliesI have a project that is created in earlier version of flash and now I'm using Flash CS4, now the problem is that if I compile the file in CS4 it dosen't work properly as it should work.
how to compile the older version files in Flash CS4.
I couldn't find where to clear the recently opened files. Where do I do that in Flash CS4?
View 2 RepliesI'm struggling with getting swfPanels and JSFL files to work. I've tried to get the example on here to work but am having no luck. When it asks to save, I am unable to save the files in the place where it asks to do so, but am putting them in the configuration folder in the Adobe Flash CS5 folder.What do I need to do to make swfPanels and JSFL files to work?
View 2 RepliesHow can I hide a movie clip (HideMe_mc) which is on Stage when I open my .SWF file? User can unhide it whenever he required.
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to execute a jsfl function from a jsfl file instead of a full string with MMExecute? And above of that how can i change the base class with jsfl? i created a panel to create certain displayobjects but i really need to change the base class instead of the normal class name.
View 1 RepliesI have 1012 different sound files named Sound 1, sound 2, sound 3, etc. On the second frame I created a storage movie clip to house them all. What I need to do is add a layer for every sound in the MC and add one sound to each one. Now instead of making 1012 layers by hand, is there a JSFL file I can use to do it for me?What it needs to do is add one layer, add sound 1, and hit stop in the properties. Then it should add another layer, add sound 2, and hit stop in the properties.
View 4 RepliesWhat are main diferens between flash ActionScript and Flex actionscript? Why Flash can not compile AS files generated from Flex (with keep-as) directly?I want to compile generated from MXML .AS files using Flash CS5... But it appeares to me I can not... Why?
View 2 RepliesAccording to the answers to this question here, the reason why I'm not seeing errors as I work in Flash Builder is that FB is "optimizing" them out because they aren't referenced at any point in the code execution. Is there an option to force Flash Builder to compile all files regardless of whether they're used in the software?
View 2 RepliesI'm interested in learning just enough Flash/Flex to do things that I can't do from HTML and JavaScript alone - play sound files and video, use multiple file upload things, perform cross-domain Ajax requests using the crossdomain.xml file etc. As such, I don't really want to learn (or pay for) the Flex IDE. I'm not much of an IDE guy in any case.
The problem is, most of the tutorials I've found talk about the IDE. I've figured out how to compile .mxml files at the command line using bin/mxmlc - now I just need to learn MXML, ActionScript and the various APIs! What are the best resources for learning these? I'm fine with buying a book, I just don't want to shell out for the API itself.

View 1 RepliesI'm using Flash Develop to build an as3 application using the Flex compiler. In the constructor of a particular class I have written the following code
Code:
//constructor
public function Test(par1:int, arr:/*int*/Array = [1, 2]){ <----- compiler shows error here
[code].....
There is probably no way for this but does anyone know a method of excluding certain functions from a build by use of a meta tag and or compiler option?I want to expose some functions for testing but not have them bloat the application on production. I could create separate testing classes and test for a complier directive or option and only load them if necessary but I like the idea of having the test function on the actual object (in the class).
View 2 RepliesI have decompiled a swf file and got a fla file and also all kind of folders including action scripts.How do I run this? I mean if I make some changes how do I convert it back to a swf file?I created a swf file from one fla file but I got a file that was like 20x less in size then the original. I think it was not using the files in the folders.
View 1 RepliesI am using flexmojos to build my flex projects. I also have a flash project containing .fla files which needs to compiled into swf have I thought was to use a command line script to do it and force maven to call the script. Something like this
View 1 RepliesRight now I am using an apply task inside of an antrun execution.
<plugin>
<artifactId>maven-antrun-plugin</artifactId>
<version>1.4</version>
<executions><execution>
<id>compile-default-theme-css</id>
[Code] .....
How do I do this in pure maven? Without the antrun plugin?
I am using Flex Builder 3, working on a PC. Everything was working as expected throughout my first day of code updates, but on day 2 Flex started behaving badly.The problem started when I removed a component, and then got an error that it couldn't find the specified component in some accompanying AS3 code. No problem, I updated the reference so it wouldn't look for the old missing component (a form item). When I compiled the project in debugger to check my work, it failed when it got to that part, and gave an error that it couldn't find the component I'd removed. However, my code had fixed the problem, and the error was referencing a line of code that wasn't there any more. I proceeded to change the file around greatly, and even resorted to creating a new file, changing the name of it, and then recompiling it. I did a clean compile as well, rebooted my machine, restarted Flex, but every time it gives an error referencing the bit of code that isn't even there any more. It's as if it's loading a cached project each time (both in debugger and run mode).
For reference, here's the error I'm getting: ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property Winter Cost not found on views.PopupUsage and there is no default value.Well, the file "PopupUsage.mxml" doesn't even exist any more and is not referenced in my project at all, but it's still being referenced by Flex when I compile the files.What can I do to make Flex move on and look at my code?
Our application has over 15 different top-level mxml files to create individual controls that are used in our pages. We are using Ant to do our automated builds, and are calling the mxmlc task for each mxml file separately (See question 78230 similar example). Running the compiler separately for each mxml file, however, is already adding up to a considerable amount of time. Our build time is approaching 10 minutes, 5 minutes for compiling our flex apps, and 5 minutes for compiling hundreads of java classes, building jars, installer etc. Each flex compile run is reasonably quick (15-20 seconds), but they add up.
Is there a way to compile all of them with one call to mxmlc?
I draw figure in Flsh ID with JSFL methods, for example
// draw rectangle
doc.addNewLine({x:0, y:0}, {x:2000, y:0});
doc.addNewLine({x:2000, y:0}, {x:2000, y:500});[code]....
how can I fill it, because this way doesn't work doc.setFillColor('#0000ff');
I had written movie player for my website few months ago and I'm upgrading it by adding some new functionality from time to time. Not long ago I've observed quite curious behavior of my browser. If my site is opened in one of tabs in browser, the cursor is blinking, from arrow to handcursor, when I'm rolling over links. Interesting is that it happens in every tab opened in browser, if only one of them contains my website. Closing my site returns every other tab to normality. I tried opening my site with blocked this one .swf file (my player) and also was everything ok. I've tested this on few different browsers and systems and it seems to happen in MacOS (tested in Safari, FF2, FF3 and Opera) Windows (in FF2, FF3, Safari, Opera IE6, IE7 and Chrome), no matter if installed version of FlashPlayer is 9 or 10. On Ubuntu Linux it doesn't happen in FF3, nor in Opera (only this two browsers tested).
I've built my player in Flash CS3, using AS2. Unfortunately, I don't know in which version of my application the problem has occurred. Of course I could examine whole code line by line, but that's about 2.5k lines and it is not the work I want to do if not necessary... I've searched lot of forums, but I found solution nowhere. Maybe someone had spotted such a strange browser behavior or simply does know, what may cause it?
The problematic site is [URL]. If you want, open it in one of tabs and try to play with links in other, you'll see what I'm writing about.
Is there a way to use JSFL to import ai file to flash and automatically create all shapes from illustrator as MovieClip? I want all of them to be in movieclip but amount of illustrator layers are too much to handle with manual hand-tick. Is there anyway to do this?
View 5 RepliesI am building a flash panel that reads metadata from a .fla when it is active in the Flash IDE. This panel is also storing metadata in the .fla and that is no problem. What is problematic is that I do not know how to stop the event listener from listening for onDocumentChange.
I want it to listen for it as long as it is open, but when it's closed it should clean up after itself because trying to read metadata every time a new document is selected is not a very nice thing to do.
I have tried to listen for all kind of events in the panel to detect when the user closes it, but with no success.
I'm trying to have a jsfl script import a video into my .fla project and export the entire thing as a .swf automatically Is it possible to disable the video wizard when importing videos? I'd hate to have to manually confirm all the options every single time. The video is in .flv format if that makes any difference
View 1 RepliesI want to be able to select a item (image, movieclip etc) that has been added to the stage in Flash and access its file name.
So if I drag a image called 'imageOne.png' onto the stage, I want to be able to access its name, 'imageOne.png', and pass it to a Extension for Flash that I'm building. I know I can get details from the library, but not from the items selected on the stage.
Can anyone tell me how to access this information using JSFL.
