But on the project detail pages, there are Flash videos that also change slightly based on which color scheme is selected.

If you start playing the video, and change color schemes, the flash player will change to the right color, but on refreshing, it doesn't remember that change. How do I modify to code below so that the Flash player reads the correct color scheme and takes action?

I am creating a portfolio site and I am trying to create a 'color scheme' option. This would allow the user to pick a color and all of the mcs and the rollover text would change to that color, or a shade of that color.
View 2 RepliesI need to create a navigation scheme with a dynamic list of movieclips that cycles, the user being able to cycle through the list left or right seamlessly.For example, say there are 12 items in the list, and at any given time three of them are to be displayed, with the center one being the focus/selected item. If the user clicks on the center/focus item, it takes them to a page, no trouble. If they click on the one to the left of the focus item, the list slides right, with the clicked one becoming the new center, focus item.
So, now say that the three visible items are 10, 11, and 12 in our array. If the user clicks on number 12, the list will slide left, with number 12 becoming the focus, and the goal would be to have item number 1 become the new, right-most item in the display - thus, the visible three would be 11, 12, 1. If the user then clicked on one, the cycle would continue, making number 1 the focus and the visible items would be 12, 1, 2. This should work seamlessly at both extremes of the list.
So in one instance, I have created a single movieclip that contains all of the items in the list, plus four extra at the end, to allow the appearance of seamlessness; when the user got to the end, the entire clip jumped to the start. This works, more or less, but it's clunky and I need to find a better way.

View 1 RepliesSo let's begin. I want to build a wheel which you can spin, similar to a roulette wheel. You can do this both ways (CW and CCW, this issue causing the bug, actually). The wheel has some acceleration to it too, and I achieve this by measuring the start and final angle of the drag movement, using Math.atan2(dy, dx). The problem is the following: atan2 outputs the following angle scheme, assuming the point relative to which the math is done is in the center of the circle.
atan2 returns a value measured in radians, so I'm using the classic angle*180/Math.PI formula. I've changed this original scheme into the following, using some simple math to shift the angles a bit, to resemble more accurate circle angles (going up to 360 degrees) The problem that I'm facing at the moment is should the user decide he wants to swipe clockwise, and moves through the right point, where 0 turns into 360 or 180 turns into -180, the whole angle difference thing is capsized. It registers a CCW movement (as if the user swiped his mouse all around the circle). So, I'm looking for some ideas as to how I can work around this small issue.
I have recently received a copy of the Adobe eLearning suite, in particular I hope to use Flash for the majority of my elearning projects.I have been having trouble using the learning interactions that come ready to use with Flash. For example,I placed the drag and drop interaction onto the stage area, but when pressing F12 to preview and use this feature it would not work (could not drag the movie objects), the same goes for all the other features I can select radio buttons etc but when pressing the 'cheack answer' button nothing happens.Even though these interactions come with instructions which i have followed, it still does not seem to work. I do not wish for them to be scored, I just want the user to receive correct or incorrect feedback.

View 6 RepliesI have a Flash application with one scene, three frames and a bunch of ActionScript code to provide a number of ExternalInterface hooks. The three frames contain a single Input Text box which, as the <embed> tag is resized using JavaScript, grows and shrinks (not scales) to fit. I now want to add the ability to zoom in/out of this application, for enlarging small text on screen without increasing the text point size. I thought this would be easy using the Javascript Zoom(percent) method of the Flash object, but this doesn't work because my ActionScript code contains:

I suspect I need to take the entire movie as I have it now, and put it inside a movie clip, add a zoom ExternalInterface call which somehow scales the movieClip, and move the External Inteterface methods I have now from the new Movie Clip outside to the stage... but this sounds like a near complete rewrite? Will this method even work? Is there a better way?

In the application there will be multiple objects located on stage and user can customize the position of the objects. But when user clicks on Undo the object go back to their default position and after clicking on redo object will move on the new position. View 1 RepliesI'm trying to see if I can set up a text to speech feature in Flash. I found this post, which details how to integrate Google's text to speech functionality with Flash. Seems pretty good, but the post seems to be written for uber-genius AS3 programmers...well not really, but at least those who already know how to stitch these pieces together.
I know a bit about using classes and packages, but can't seem to figure out how all the chunks of code in his post would be stitched together.
Any chance anyone can check this out, and give me a basic rundown of how all these pieces would go together?? So I can try implementing this myself...

In OpenCV, we can use a xml file to describe haar-like features of a specific object. I wanna use this idea to detect palm and fist, now I hava my own xml feature file, and it works well in C and Python(with OpenCV), now I need to move this idea to flash.
Luckily, I found an project named Marilena, it successfully moved the haar-trainning part of OpenCV to actionscript, and this article optimizing flash based face detection optimized Marilena, he turned the xml file into actionscript class itself to speedup the calculation. However, since the Haar data is being hardcoded into the class now it will not be able to use for tracking anything else but faces. I try to read the source code for detail, and process my own xml file into actionscript class file in his way, but finally find something different.
The xml file for face detection is like :
Every tree has only one node "root node", but in my xml file, some trees have two nodes, and the "left_val" above changes to "left_node" sometime, I don't know how to process these nodes. I think I should goto OpenCV C source files for detail to find how to correctly process xml feature file, but where to start,

I created a game in Flash and outputted it into an APK file for use in my Android phone. I would like to make a quit function so that it quits the game application when you leave.
Right now, I have to quit using task manager in my mobile. Also how do you enable it to maintain a high score in the game so that next time the user plays the game again, the high score is still there? Right now, the highscore is lost when you quit the game application.
The movie was designed in several flash files, each has been combined into a single movie clip and then all the movie clips have been moved into the master document.

They play through and when a clip reached the end I have used the actionscript root.gotoAndPlay(x) where x is the slide number of the next clip in the sequence as such my timeline looks like this[code]...

I have a XML file which I am trying to integrate a search feature. I have attached a zipped folder of my working example.In this XML file is a collection of modules: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc...
Each module is broken down further:
1.1has: 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3
1.2has: 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 1.2.3, 1.2.4 etc...
I have a search feature that is searching the XML, then outputting the content if found.Now this is working OK for a specific module listed above, for example, in my zipped example, I can get it to search 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3 etc...
What I can�t seem to get working is how to search all of the modules sections: eg: 1.1: 1.1.1-1.1.x, 1.2: 1.2.1 � 1.2.x and so on depending on how much content is sorted in my XML.
