Nov 24, 2010When I remove an element from a viewstack then the body is removed but the tabbar header is still displayed
I would like them both to be displayed.

Flex :: Hiding A Tab In A Spark TabBar?
Feb 3, 2012I have a spark TabBar and I want to hide and show some elements of it from an external user input (namely a checkbox check)
I am having trouble changing the tabs visibility. They are currently always shown.
I have seen a getTabAt on the mx TabBar but the look of the tab is important and the requirement is for it to look like a tab bar rather than a button bar.
My code for the tabs and for hiding and showing is below:

Flex 4 :: Way To Disable A Tab Of A Spark Tabbar Component
Dec 27, 2010is there a common way to disable a tab of a spark tabbar component in flex 4? with the mx tabnavigator component you can just disable the content corresponding to the tab and the tab is also disabled then. but doing this with the spark tab bar component disables just the content not the tab.[code]

Dec 4, 2011I'm using a custom tabbar with the dataProvider being a viewstack and I'm trying to get the tab labels to update when data in the related container (in the viewstack) updates. The viewstack's containers are bound to bindable vars, so if a var changes, the data/labels/etc in the container updates, but the tab doesn't.Is there a way to bind the tab to the same bindable var or do i need to write event handlers (if so, what events)?

Aug 28, 2009I have a TabBar Control with 3 tab, i need to add controls(Button,Label) dynamically in to each tab, I can add the controls to the initial selected tab but when i add to next tab , i am getting Null exception error That is when TabBar property selectedIndex="0" means i can add to 1st tab.but not in 2 and 3rd. when Tabbar property selectedIndex="1" means i can add to 2nd tab.but not in 1 and 3rd.

Apr 24, 2011I have an application where I'm trying to update the String for a Label's text property, based on the tab which user has the mouse over. I've constructed a simple example displaying how I would process the eventHandler function if I was going to use the selectedIndex property, however it's the tab that has mouse focus, which may or may not be the selectedItem, that I'd like to reference and I haven't been able to figure out a way to do it.
So here is the example:

May 24, 2011I am using a custom skin on Flex's TabBar, and specifically the skin the controls ButtonBarButton. The width of the button is a variable size depending on the text it contains, and background of the button is an image that only displays on the selected states of the button.
The following is my MXML for the skin:

I tried wrapping the entire block in a Group tag, but to no avail. The invisible Rect does indeed fix the "machine gun" flickering that occurred when the mouse hovered over any edge of the button, but there is still a flicker on every mouse enter and mouse leave of each button.

Oct 2, 2010I have multiple MXML custom components that I add on the fly (using a repeater) that is binded to an ArrayCollection. So everytime I add/remove item from the ArrayColleciton new items show/disappear from the screen. Is there a straightforward way to make item fade in when they get created and fade out when they are removed? I thought of using states and state transition effects but that will make things a bit complicated at different part of my application for those components to manage the states.

Aug 10, 2011I've been searching for the last couple days but can't seem to find a basic example of what I'm looking for. I'm developing a Flex 4.5 app and in it I have a viewstack of 2 components that use some of the same services. Currently the only way I can get the app to correctly use the web services is by defining 2 different web services that use the same PHP web service file. For example: I have an app, and within it I have a viewstack with tab navigation of 2 components: #1) retrieve a list of all Salary Employees, and #2) retrieve a list of all Contractors. Currently to get it working I am defining a UsersTableEmployees webservice within component #1 and a UsersTableContractors webservice within component #2, but they both point to the same PHP class, and only differ in the arugment value I pass to them. Ie, getUsers("employee") and getUsers ("contractors"). Of course this is not best practice.
Searching StackOverflow and Google gives me many results about ColdFusion and MVC (example What's the best way to share data between components in Flex?), but I'm still confused. Can anyone here point me to a basic example (even sample MVC) and source code of an app that uses Zend AMF and allows different components to call common web services?
Flex :: Always Resize The ViewStack?
Mar 23, 2010I'm using a viewStack which have is property resizeToContent set to true. When I'm selecting a child higher than the viewStack, it's correctly resized, but when I'm selecting another child which is smaller, the viewStack isn't resized! What I want is that my viewStack get the height of the selectedChild each time.
though, the Adobe doc say :
If true, the ViewStack container automatically resizes to the size of its current child.
Flex :: Possible To Use DeepLinking Without A ViewStack?
Nov 2, 2010I've got a Flex 3 project.Does deep linking only work on viewStacks? (My project doesn't have any viewStacks). I'd like to use deeplinking based on what was selected in a comboBox. I'd like the user to be able to bookmark or use the back button based on what was selected in the comboBox.The comboBox selection determines which data is pulled from the database.Is this possible? I set-up deeplinking in another project, but it had viewStacks. And all of the deep linking examples that I've seen use viewStacks.

Flex :: ViewStack Not Showing Change At First
Jan 24, 2010I have as good as finished a new project I'm working on now for a while, and I have this small problem coming up at the fine tuning.The area of concern is so I believe the ViewStack I'm using, but I'm not sure so here the details.I have several check boxes (4), and only one at all times can be selected to show off associated Radio Buttons as a Group of (6). No RBtn pre selected.With the selection of a check box I also make visible a new Radio Button Group of (4). No RBtn pre selected here either.Now if I select one of the RBtn (6 - each has a different Paper size measurement showing) then I can view through a external Xml data file details as Size, basePrice and the totalPrice which is in this case the same as the basePrice!
This totalPrice is located on the first Canvas/Label in the VStack!Selecting any of the first three (3) of the second RBtn Group (4) No RBtn pre selected either! - it will show me a Paper type description, and by selecting the fourth RBtn it will show me as well a field with the extra costs for a Canvas type, and it should select the second Canvas of the VStack with the totalPrice which is basePrice plus the extrasCost Canvas Price.Now the problem is that my second VStack Canvas/Label = totalPrice (basePrice +extraCost) is not showing up immediately! (It just shows blank canceling the basePrice out), and only if I select another of the six (6) RBtn! then it is showing the second vStack with the totalPrice (basePrice +extraCost). From here on everything works perfectly!I think that I have to mention that my RBtn Group are working in a function If / Else / If /Else configuration where both the Labels on both VStack Canvases are called up at the same time. So therefore both Labels should have data available which than should be viewed when the VStack changes?
