i want to have force download functionality only with Flash AS3, is it possible ?? i tried google but failed. here it is my as3 code......
var file_URLRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest ("mp3gallery/" + url);
var content_header:URLRequestHeader = new URLRequestHeader("Content-Type: application/force-download");
I am creating a web site using Flash CS3 actionscript 2.0.I know how to but the one extra thing I need to do for this site is create a button that anyone looking at the site can click and it automatically downloads a zip file containing music. (it's a site for a band who want their fans to be able to download their music.)A lot of the information I am finding pertains to PHP, which I don't understand. As I use action script 2.0, I am not familiar with much code.[code]but I most be doing something wrong b/c an error always comes up when I check the code.Also, I make a button, give it an instance name, but I don't enter that anywhere in the action script.so I know something has to be wrong, b/c the only thing I do is create a zip file, name it and enter it in the action script.
I updated the flash library XML/SWF (chart library) to the latest version on my web application but the users still see the charts with the old library which is saved in there browser cache.How can I force the browsers of my users to download the latest version of the SWF files.I can't add a parameter at the end of the SWF file like : charts.swf?v=1234.
If I do that I get an error because the chart library load dynamically other SWF files of the library. The charts.swf file will be the new version but the other files will still be from the older version and I will get an error...
I have make a post request to some url. Normally when this url is called from some html form, it opens a dialogue box to download excel file. But when I call this url from flash component, nothing happens. I have to force this excel file to be downloaded.
I do a lot of all Flash sites, and sometimes I have problems getting the latest update to show on everyone's machine because of temporary internet files. Is there a way to force people to re-download the SWF?
i have an mp3 player thats xml and i want to have a button the when clicked it downloads the current song playing. how to achieve this. I already have a lyrics button i think it would be something kinda similar but with download settings. the lyrics button jsut links you to another page. here's the code for it though
The PHP file is ran with headers to force a download (from flash/as3 project), but it also pops up a blank page. Is there a way to close that after?I don't think users want blank page popups springing up.[code]
I want to have a "force download" when someone clicks a link.Basically all I want to happen is when someone clicks the "Download" button is that they get the "save as" option for a mp3.It's an Mp3 that needs to get downloaded.
I'm working at a company which has high security environment.Akamai Download Manager starts to download a trial Flash CS5. However, it stops quickly and downloads nothing (zero byte).I want to download a trial Flash CS5 without Akamai Download Manager!
I generate a HTML page with VB.Net which stores several pinks to files. These links are formatted with JavaScript looking like the Windows-Explorer with folders and files. The problem: There are only download links for the files, not for Folders. A folder can contain Subfolders ,a List of Files or a combination of both. So if I want to download a folder, I have to click manually on every file-link. I have not the possibility to insert PHP or another Server-side language. my question now is: Is there a client side way to Download them by click on a Folder? I prefer Javascript but If it isn't possible Flash will be ok also.
So I basically have used the fileReference class to allow the user to download a determined file if he wants to.
I use the file.download(URL) function and it works well.
However, the file is downloaded and saved to the hard drive using only the flash player. The browser is not aware of the download, and thus, if I want to show the progress of the download I'd have to make some progress bar myself. I know how to do it, but it would become really tedious and take too much UI space.
Isn't there a damn way in Flash to "send" a determined file to the browser so that it prompts the user to download it? It's an image file, so navigateToURL doesn't cut it since it will just display the image, both if I use a new tab or the current one.
I am having problems with the images being smooth.I have edited the code throughout with forceSmoothing = true and _quality = best.It all works and looks smooth if I test the file in the preview window and if I run the HTML file. But as soon as I put the file under IIS the smoothing stops.All my flash players are v10+ . I have turned the IIS compression off but no luck.
I have a swf movie, which involves some classes and libraries stuff. so now when i preload, flash will preload all those classes and MC with linkage 1st.
but i need flash to preload certain MC 1st, because i need it for my preloader's visual. Is there a way that i can force flash to preload the MC that i wanted 1st?
I'm trying to create a method of saving data to disk in Flash.
Uploading the data to a PHP server works... well enough I guess. The issue is that when I go to reload the data, the file has been cached, and so I can't load the saved changes.
Is there a way to force flash to reload a file? Or clear it's current cached version?
I have a Flash app that uploads an xml file using URLLoader() and URLRequest(). But this file gets overwritten every 10-30 minutes with fresh data. The only way I've found so far to view changes in the xml data is to refresh my web page (F5 or Ctrl-->F5). Short of turning to Javascript, isn't there some way for Flash to refresh its xml data?
I'm using a modal window on a client's site where we have no access to the content. The problem is that he has some flash on the page and the wmode for these is not set to transparent.
Is there a possibility to force their flash from our javascript to have this parameter added?
I'm trying to decipher a pre-existing project and make some modifications as I go.
I have a section of code that starts with creating a new NetConnection and then streaming a media file from an external source. I see in the documentation that you can provide a destination port (via the URL), but is it possible to force Flash to use a specific source port? I couldn't find a clear way to do this in the documentation, but I was curious if anyone else has an alternate method or idea.
Yesterday when playing a game (Balloons Tower Defense 3) I noticed that the game started to slow down over time and then randomly speed up very quickly. Looking at the memory usage dropping each time I assumed it was the GC running.
As a legitimate question, is there anyway to force Flash to GC from, say, Firefox? Perhaps there's an addon or a command you can run that will do this? I know that you can do System.gc() but this game isn't mine so I can't modify the source with a "Click here to GC" button.
I have a textInput box called systolicInput. To record the users blood pressure.When the user taps on the textInput the iOS virtual keyboard comes up. But it defaults to alphabetic input.How can I force it to display the numeric input keyboard? I am using ActionScript 3.
When the list item label is changed, the list doesn't redraw until I hover the mouse over changed item. I've tried invalidate & redraw but they didn't work:
//myList is an instance of mx.controls.List component myList.getItemAt(0).label = 'New Label'; myList.invalidate(); myList.redraw(false);
I want to implement a force-directed layout in my Flash program. On my search for an already-made component I bumped into these:SpringGraph (Flex component)Flare (Flare has a force directed layout class, but also a Flex component)GraphGear (AS2 implementation of force directed layout)Graph.as (AS3 implementation, but not so smooth)All these classes are not directly implementable in Flash. I tried to get the latest Flare running in Flash by using the Flex SDK files as well as for Springgraph, but this seems like a too complex way to create a force directed layout. The GraphGear is quite nice and compact, but written in AS2. Graph.as is too experimental to directly implement.
I have an applicon that needs to render about 100 flash graphs (as well as other DOM stuff) in a series of rows that vertically extend many times beyond the current visible window - in other words, the users have to scroll down see see all the different graphs.This application is also dynamic and when a user changes a value in the DOM (anywhere on the page) it will need to propagate that change to all the Flash graphs at the same time.So I setup all the externalInterface callbacks and was careful to not let any JS start going until the ever-so-important "flashIsReady" call and...it worked great until I tried to update() the existing swf's with new data.
Here was the behavior:- All the swfs load (initially) in both IE/Fox = good.- Updating swfs with new content works in Fox --ONLY IF-- I scrolled down to the bottom of the page, then back to the top -- BEFORE -- I triggered an update().So then I started tracing out each time a swf called the JS to say "flash is ready" and I realized, Firfox only renders swfs as they become visible. And To be honest - that's fine and actually, I am pretty sure that IE does this too. But the problem is that not only does Firefox not initialize the swf, Firefox doesn't even acknowledge the swf exists (expect for after onload) if it has not yet been visible.
Is there a way to make the flash as3 compiler require static typing? I've got a bad habit of not doing it, and it'd be nice to make it throw compiler errors. In the publish settings for as3, I turned on "strict" but that didn't really change anything.
I'm trying to write a compiler argument for FDT to force the inclusion of one of my SWCs. It looks kind of like this (App name changed, but the real one also contains mixed case and a space): -include-libraries "C:WorkspacesMy Applibssite.swc" Problem is that the compiler claims it is unable to open this file. Is there a problem maybe with using a full path like this? Ideally I would prefer to use a token to represent the project folder, something like -include-libraries "${project}/libs/site.swc", but I don't seem able to find a token list in the docs.
I currently have the latest version of the IE Flash Player Installed: I've installed the latest version of the content debugger from The Adobe Flash Player Support Center. Regardless of what I do IE doesn't seem to pick up the new content debugger version. I've tried uninstalling, tried installing an older version... All with no luck.
We have this wicked project requirement to force play a flash video from start to finish upon user login. One possible solution is to autoplay the video and disable the mouse and keyboard while the video is playing. Is there a way to disable the mouse and keyboard in flash? This means you cannot click anything and type anything until the video finishes.
my flash has lots of images and dispaly objects. Hence it costs high cpu usages. after using my flash for an hour, it is dieing.I am trying to reduce it. I have some questions here:
1. I create an array, or string at frame 1 for example, when I go back to frame 1, should I create a new array, or a new string?? Or is it better to make it empty array(eg:[]) or empty string("")? which way it reduces cup uasge more?
2. does anyone know how to force the flash to do garbage collection??
3. any other possible reasons that cause high cpu usage?
I've altered Kirupa's centered popup script a bit and it works fine unless you have a popup blocker because most popup blockers just block the window.open() javascript funciton. Does anyone know a way to force a popup window to open in flash? something like you would do on an HTML link <a target="_blank"> or something of the sort.
