Actionscript 3 :: Compilation Error: The Name Of Definition 'Main' Does Not Reflect The Location Of This File
Apr 25, 2011
I have a movie clip called turret that is on the screen and is instanced as Turret, I have a movie clip called bullet and that is in the library exported for AS "bullet" no quotes. Here is the website [URL] My frame (main) class is called du34
5001: The name of package 'flashdev' does not reflect the location of this file. Please change the package definition's name inside this file, or move the file.this is the error i get.Ill tell you what ive done.first i created a .as file.i have created a package like:
package flashdev{
//code here public class ooclass{}
}
then i create a .fla file and sai
import flashdev.ooclass
defined a new() class here
.... and then i get this error. I thwen tried to set folder locations within flash cs3 and still couldnt get it to work.What can i be doing wrong
output error: The name of package 'greet' does not reflect the location of this file. Please change the package definition's name inside this file, or move the file. C:Documents and SettingsIgalMy DocumentsmeirangreetGreeter.as
I keep on recieving this output error although my source path is set to C:Documents and SettingsIgalMy Documentsmeirangreet.
I'm getting an error on Flash that I've never run in to before.
5001: The name of package 'Document'does not reflect the location of this file. Please change the package definition's name inside this file, or move the file. C:Work2009-2010FlashTestsDocument.as
The fla is called TestEvents1... and that's all the info I think is related.What's happening here?
So I have a shell.fla file, on the same level as that there is a core_classes folder. Inside of the core classes folder is a core_initialize.as and a xml, buttons, and loaders folders. Inside of the loaders folder is swf_loaders.as Inside of the buttons folder is menu_buttons.as
The package name for menu_buttons.as is core_classes.buttons The package name for swf_loaders.as is core_classes.loaders
When I run my Shell.fla I get the 5001 error Package name 'core_classes.loaders' does not reflect the location of this package. Please move this to the file. 'core_classes/loaders/swf_loaders.as'.
But where it lists the location of the error in the compile errors box it lists 'core_classes/loaders/swf_loaders.as'
I've checked the spelling everything is spelled right, I made sure I didn't mix up the two package names..
i'm trying to start organizing projects i have this folder structure: working>flash>as3Study>VectorModelStudy12511>src
my document is in VectorModelStudy12511 i have class paths to VectorModelStudy12511 and src the top of my document looks like:
[code]...
and i'm getting this error:
5001: The name of package 'VectorModelStudy12511' does not reflect the location of this file. Please change the package definition's name inside this file, or move the file. C:Users obDesktopProjectsWorkingFlashAS3Stu dyVectorModelStudy12511VectorModelStudy12511Docu ment.as
Because I was having so much trouble using packages in my other programs I created two simple classes to figure it out. I have placed these two classes in a folder named packageTest and even made a new path there in flash preference.
[Code].....
I am running them from a .fla file with packageTest.FirstPackage set as the document class. I receive the following error when I compile. 5001: The name of package 'packageTest' does not reflect the location of this file. Please change the package definition's name inside this file, or move the file. C:UsersDirkDesktopRuckuspackageTestPackageTr aveler.as
The error message I'm getting is as follows:5001: The name of package 'mvc' does not reflect the location of this file. change the package definition's name inside this file, or move the file. /Desktop/mvc/Model.as
I'd like to access the stage of the main timeline from w/i a class that extends a movieclip. Basically, I have a button in the main timeline that makes a HUD appear. The HUD is an extended MovieClip class. When people click on a button in the HUD, I'd like to remove the object from the stage of the main MovieClip.I think your confusion may come from the fact that I am running this code from a class definition file. Clicking on a button w/i this object should remove it from the DisplayList of the MainTimeline. Here's the code from the class definition file:
trace(e.currentTarget.parent.parent) gets me the MainTimeline, and trace(e.currentTarget.parent.parent.stage) appears to return the main stage, but I cannot use removeChild w/o getting an error that I am trying to coerce the stage to be a DisplayObject (which it ought to be).What's on the stage of the MainTimeline: A single button that, when clicked, adds an instance of the Answers class to the stage.
I am compiling my css files to swf files and loading them at run time. I have no problem compiling these and using ClassReference statements most of the time:
[Code]...
Does not work. The difference is that the HeaderBackground is a class in the same project as the css file. That does compiel fine if I move the style into my mxml file though.
I wonder if the compiler uses different source paths when compiling the css fiels or something. This is in FlashBuilder 4 build 269271 SDK 13963
I'm trying to read bmp fille byte by byte and then redraw it. For that I made a .fla file for veiwing and .as file for coding. I just started coding and made import to the follwing files in this scenario and I get errors while debugging.
1172: Definition flash.filesystem:File could not be found.1172: Definition flash.filesystem:FileMode could not be found.1172: Definition flash.filesystem:FileStream could not be found.5000: The class 'FileStreamLive' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.
I've seen many samples on filestreaming but all were using the mxml scripting that I don't know
I use flash cs4, and i'm doing a mouse trail effect,but i keep getting error 5007 saying : An ActionScript file must have at least one externally visible definition.
i dunno what on earth it means and how to fix it.it says the error's at line 1.
I am getting a syntax error when I try execute the following code. The error is the following : 5006 An ActionScript file can not have more than one externally visible definition
I've run into a strange error and I was wondering if anyone had experience with this.I'm working on a flash platforming game and I recently released a demo. I was having a problem with the getting the file to play correctly when I noticed an error:The file plays differently depending on where the file is saved. For example:Platform Explorer (http://jrjellybeans.net/platformExplorer.swf).This file runs fine. Platform Explorer (http://jrjellybeans.net/flashGames/platformExplorer.swf).This file opens up the level editor. Yet, I make no call to the level editor anywhere in this particular file.The thing is that the files are EXACTLY the same. Just saved in different locations.
I don't use so often package and I don't understand why flash send a 5001 error on this ActionScript Error #5001: The name of package does not reflect the location of this fileI have à fla located in the "test" folder :
import flash.display.Loader; import com.MyLoader; var photourls:Array = ["http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/mp/6v5wRot-Ry9l.jpg"]; var ldr: MyLoader; var id:uint = 0;
I'm having an odd problem that isn't mission critical since I can use the command line with no probs.In my earlier post http:[url]... I had problems getting the web compiler to work.Now that it's working I use this in a browser to compile: http:[url]...
and I get this error as a result:
ERROR : Could not resolve to a component implementation.
Everything is legit and the most recommended solution is that the namespaces aren't correct. I've checked those and they're fine. Other answers I've come across relate to external components causing a problem but as you can see, I'm not using an external component.Here's the kicker. If I do a compile via command line:
mxmlc topsight.mxml
it compiles perfectly.Specs are still the same from the prior post and I'm using the Flex 3 SDK.Not sure if this would help but I did the download from http:[url]... and I clicked on the Open Source Flex SDK - Milestone 3.3
I am trying to have actionscript 3 and greensocks tweenlite change the alpha properties of another file on roll over.I can do it using just pure actionscript 3; however when I try to use Tweenlite I run in to this error:
5007: An ActionScript file must have at least one externally visible definition
The code I have used is:
image = mc that has the rollover function added to it;info = mc that has it's alpha set to 0 and I am trying to get it to tween to 1 in 0.5 seconds. import com.greensock.*;import com.greensock.easing.*;
I'm also an AS3 noob. I'm not sure how to fix this error: 5006: an actionscript file can not have more than one externally visible definition: Bullet, my_tank
I created a simple button that displays an error messeage: "error opening 'url" when I test the movie, but does play and opens in browser after publishing. However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. I pasted the html code in a web page but it doesn't work there nor opens in the browser in a differnet location from where it was originally published and saved. Why is that?
I'm trying to use Caurina Transitions in Flash Cs4, As3, but get the error message: 5007: An ActionScript file must have at least one externally visible definition. I'm simply using this code as test:
How can I attach an AS3.0 Flash Builder 4 project to a FLA file and a document for compilation? Currently I have a AS project full of files which I can't build. What should I do?
I have to work with a .fla file. I would like to rewrite this file in AS3. Is it possible? I mean, I would get a .swf file as result of compilation of mxml file in Flash Builder 4 IDE, not Flash CS5 (I don't know CS5, I'm a newbie) . Main target is getting a .swf file by compilation of mxml file, not fla file. Could you explain in detail how this code works? For example what's TXT ? Is it a inputText? Where is this variable defined? Now I 'm linking .fla file ....
I have made a menu bar and linked each separate swf file to the corresponding button. Upon testing my main movie, all the text on the main page is disappearing, the new swf file is not loading and the message 1120 error appears for all my buttons. I have checked the instance names and they match along with publish settings and folder settings. I cant understand why its not working
I just upgraded to CS4 and now I can't compile my project. First of all I get a random error like this 1087: Syntax error: extra characters found after end of program. on(press){} The location of the error (file, frame, line) is totally random, pointing to frame that has nothing in it or a frame with a simple stop(); command, etc My other error is a run time one that appears after the compilation The following JavaScript error(s) occurred: SyntaxError: unterminated string literal All that code was working fine yesterday with CS3, any idea why CS4 wouldn't handle it the same way?
My problem is that I have a moveiclip (called "clip") and I have other movieclips on that stage that are "branches", and those branches are made up of branch parts. These branch parts are in a movieclip called (branchpart) and some of these have been placed on the branch stage. When I am on the clip stage and I try to get the location branch[i].branchpart[j].x and ranch[i].branchpart[j].y,this location is given in the coordinates of the branch stage, not the clip stage. These branch parts are being moved in complex ways with respect to one another, so I am hoping that I can simply access the location on the clip stage of a single part without having to deconstruct the whole branch.
