I have Xml Flash website but it is done in FlashMx with a Publish settings of Actionscript 1.0 and Flash Player 6 . Now I have a flv player component I want to embedd it inside my xml flash project, It says you need a higher publish settings to enable that flv component. ok fine Now i have changed the Publish settings to Flash Player 8 . When I run the movie Flv component is working but the xml flash website has been disappeared only blankscreen .

Im doing your standard "shooter" script. It is all working except one part. When the bullet crosses the ._y boundaries it is removed like it should be. But the x boundary is not working and i don't know why. Im using Flash 8, and Action Script 2.0

The ad on the bottom right of the screen (the one with lightning flashing) has an invisible button in its Flash file (CS5) linking to [URL]. This file is imported as SWF in Dreamweaver CS5.
The hyperlink works in Firefox, but not in Safari. Maybe it is just my computer.
I have developed a player in AS3. It is working if i provide the IP of the website. But, it is not working when i provide the full domain name. Even, i provide the crossdomain.xml for global access.

I am creating a website that has links to flash animations. i have created a folder called flash in the root folder and copied the relevant .fla, .swf and the .mp3 files into that folder. the animations are working fine but the audio isnt.it all works fine in flash itself.

am using bitmapdata to make me a nice lil' background image, and it works great...until it's resized. Whats happening is it's creating a new bgHolder clip on the resize, NOT resizing the current empty clip "bgHolder"Here's the code(taken from various posts)

I created a simple button that displays an error messeage: "error opening 'url" when I test the movie, but does play and opens in browser after publishing. However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. I pasted the html code in a web page but it doesn't work there nor opens in the browser in a differnet location from where it was originally published and saved. Why is that?
View 13 RepliesI'm trying to simply have 4 images at a time appear, then scroll over one image when a button is clicked. I'm using the Loader component to call in the external jpgs. This works perfectly in Firefox and when I preview it in Flash, but in IE the images don't load properly. I'm scaling them down using the Loader parameters, but IE usually tries to load the full-sized images. You can see the problem if you visit [URL]

View 1 RepliesOk, so I got this huge image of a map. I put a Mask over it so it will fit on a small screen. But....I want users to be able to view the whole map but click on arrow buttons that will transfer them in all 4 directions. I know I can do this with keyframes, showing different parts of them map each stage....But isn't there a simplier way? Some sort of actionscript code that will tell flash to scroll how many pixels left or right or up or down? And that it will know that the image will stop here so don't scroll more than that?

and I tried doing all of the above by inserting the loader into a sprite and then applying the code to the sprite and then adding that sprite to another sprite and putting that at 640 and not inserting it in another sprite and trying to straight up put the existing sprite at 640 (hopefully that all makes sense). And I have tried to put it to width/3 and nothing different happens.
I'm attempting to create a multiple image uploader (think Coppermine) where the user clicks a button in an SWF, selects a file or multiple files, and then these files are uploaded to a directory. I have a PHP script that handles the uploading a file, and my Flash file iterates over the files in the FileReferenceList and sends the file to this PHP script to upload. The directory path in the PHP script is correct, and permissions set to 777.
The contents of my ActionScript 3.0 class look like this:

The three methods at the bottom of the class fire JavaScript functions in my HTML page that add the file names to a file queue widget, and update the percent value next to them, and finally mark them as complete. However, when I select files, they are added to the file queue widget as expected and then nothing. The files aren't uploaded, the files in the file queue widget aren't updated, and no errors are thrown, either in the console (I'm using Chrome) or Flash when publishing my movie.

So I have this slideshow, meant to just cycle through 50 or so images, loading each up for a few seconds before it goes away. It obtains the information for the images from a database.For all my testing, it works as it should in IE, Firefox, Opera, and Safari on Windows.Yet I'm repeatedly told by someone that it does not work at all on Safari on Mac, but instead just forever shows the loading movieclip I have in.Sadly, I don't have a Mac and I don't know anyone, save for this person, who owns one, thus I'm unsure what is going on, let alone how to solve it.You can view it there. I'm just at a loss for why it's having issues. Is it just a single case, or is it Safari on Mac in general, or perhaps Mac itself in general?

View 13 RepliesI have a problem with loading an image path reference into a movieClip.On my movie loading I attachMovie according to i (no. of instances)Then I generate a copy of the instances (these are prepared ready for print - I have this working)
However, the initial creation of these instances is handled when the Flash movie loads and uses part of the code below to generate thumbnails:

The class is called multiple times once then when triggered in a duplicate movieclip but fails somehow - maybe the clue is duplicate tho tried that (duplicateMovieClip..)
i turned on buttonmode on a spark image and there is absolutely nothing happening there when i mouseover.

i know that an image isn't a button by definition and there are button classes for this, but can anyone maybe clarify if this is expected behaviour or is there something general i am missing here?
