Jun 9, 2011Is the source available for build in classes and or components? If so, where? I am running CS5 on Win7 64 bit. I would like to add functionality to the ScrollPane component but I need to know how it works and which functions I can override. I was a little confused when a page I found suggested extending it to fix a bug. The Adobe reference only shows one protected method and so although the fix worked, I wouldn't have had any way of fixing it if I didn't come upon that page.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Can't Upload A FLA To The Official Flash Support Site?
Oct 19, 2009I threw together a fla to spike some code. At some point, it's lost it's fidelity. It was telling me I couldn't debug the file because it didn't contain AS3. It did.Then, I found that there was an extra dot in my code, which was not caught during auto-format or syntax checking.I removed the extra dot, and then I started to notice bugs. I got runtime errors that a var was 21, when it is clearly set to 22. I also changed the datatype of a Vector to an Array and all of a sudden the compiler acts as if the array doesn't exist.Like I said, I was just spiking some code, and could have made some errors in there somewhere, but this is getting out of hand.[Update: I can't upload an FLA to the official Flash support site.

Oct 16, 2010I think i must be missing something very basic about packages and classes. I am often downloading source code from people who offer there source code on the internet. I think this is a good way to look at what people are doing and try to understand the code. Ideally I want to see the program in a .fla, see it in action when I "ctrl enter" and play with the code to change some things and learn a bit.
The thing is it always seems to be just .as files with public and private package/class code and never an actual .fla with the actual program. This is probably a really stupid question but is there a reason for this?

Jun 23, 2009So this is probably an easy thing I don't know, I'm hoping. But when I publish my project and test it in a normal HTML, the swf can find some classes but not others for some reason?
How can I make sure all the classes get compiled into the Swf? I got the main timeline calling the first class (CalypsoPlayer); and it finds this class find -- which is under the same class path. But CalypsoPlayer can't find the class it needs, even though it's under the same class path as the class.
I've tested the project in Flash itself and it all works great without any errors so I'm not sure what's going on. It's only when I test the published SWF that it can't find all the classes it needs.

Jan 30, 2010I can code things fine myself but I've never used anyone elses code components to build something. I need to make a magazine that has a page fli effect and someone pointed me to Rubens flex book component (I'm assuming I can use it with flash). I've downloaded the zip file but I'm not sure how to actually start making my book. Everything is in different folders, because I assume they all are interlinked and are specificied with their paths within their classes.
I'm thinking I need to make a fla and then a document class and link that to the fla. But what do I put in the document class?

So I thought I may have a look at that source code and see if I could be able to find the source of some particular issue and maybe even correct it.I know the risks.But after modifying,for example,ComboBox.as in the abovementioned folder, simply adding some dummy trace()s just to see if it worked, it doesn't seem to work. I created a fla file, placed a ComboBox and tested it, but I cannot see the trace printout I added. I did "delete ASO files" but nothing changed.So how do I tell Flash to recompile the components?
