Actionscript 3 :: Include Non-specific Functions In To Class?

Say I have the following set up of classes.
Road - extends MovieClip Car - extends Road
Controller - extends Car
And I want to incorporate some common Mathematical functions in them all to make them faster e.g.(replacing Math classes with some speedy bitwise versions).
What is the best way to incorporate these functions into all of them without writing the functions in the classes or extending from class of the functions. Is importing the class into each the fastest way or is their a better way?

I've got a project thats getting a bit big, so Im taking the actionscript out into separate as files. I want all the basic functions to be in BasicFunctions.as and the make a library for more specific functions. I find that a lot of people use the import statement but I cant get that to work with a simple Hello World trace, yet the include statement works fine (see attached). I understand that import/include work differently, but which is the better method? If import, then is that heavier to work with. Any rate, what's the best way to organise code when it gets to the 1000+ lines?

Is there a conflict with using an include statement in a frame script when you have a document class? We have an include statement in the main timeline that works fine when there is no document class. But when we add a document class we get:
"Error 1068: Unable to open included file . . . .".

Is there a way to do that without using a bunch of "if" or "switch" statements, like shoving them all in an array?I have a rough idea of how it would work, but I have no idea how it would look in code.And just to clarify,I mean an order than can be changed.Otherwise I wouldn't need to think about this at all.

I'm creating a Flash file which pulls in external SWFs onto a container. The main SWF which has the container clip is called Main.swf then we have external swf's.
So basically, we have Main.swf, English.swf, French.swf, More.swf
More.swf has a load of buttons on it (contact.swf, about,swf etc etc)
To make things neater, I wanted to put all of my button code in the Main.swf, and I've got it sorted so that English.swf, French.swf and More.swf load correctly into holder_MC which is on Main.swf
Now, to get the buttons working, I can either have the code situated in More.swf (in which case, can I change the contents of holder_MC which is located in Main.swf from within More.swf? If so, how?)
Or, I can have an event listener to say that when Main.swf is loaded, create these functions to link to contact.swf, about,swf etc etc)

Is there a way I can find out all the classes that are related specifically to the iphone in CS5? (ie Accelerometer, Gestures...ec)
What I want to do specifically is try to access the camera and then if there is none (say it is an old ipod touch) then go to a photos/camera roll folder and show those. Apparently in the help files, in the Air 2.5 runtime there is a "browseForImage" function that allows you to go to said cameraRoll but it will not compile if I publish under the iphone OS option (does not have specific stuff I am importing from an example flash.media.MediaType, flash.events.MediaEvent, flash.media.MediaPromise). Upon looking up the errors, there is no mention whether it is for a specific device.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with if there is a big difference in performance in ActionScript 3 between keeping a class with only public static functions, and utilizing those functions often (as in a frame event at 30fps), and in turning the class into a "normal" class of which I instead make an instance and call the functions via the instance instead.

I realize this is kind of an odd issue, but I am wondering if there's any way to get Flash to allow me to access a class's static functions using a class variable that points to the class. Example:I create a class called FooClass that has a static function named fooI then create a variable of type Class that points to it

Im trying to use an AS3 modification of gskinner's collision detection class, but this being the first custom class i've ever tried to implement, i dont what i'm doing.How do i implement it into my flash? Do I just put it in the same folder as my .fla and .as?Do i have to initiate it in the main class?From what i understand it creates a rectangle, what would i need to turn it into a simple true/false?

I am using an include file, and I've noticed that sometimes the the fla file does not refresh new changes to my include file. When exporting with "Ctrl, Enter" Is Flash loading the include file from the cache?

In a custom queue, there's a push() and a pop() function. The pop() may be called any time on an Event.COMPLETE, so does this mean that code can be running in push() and pop() simultaneously? If so, is there a way to prevent the code from being run in both functions at the same time?

I have a web application created using Flash Pro and I want to use external ActionScript files to support it. I have a package with multiple classes. I want to be able to create utility functions to do things across classes. How do I make these functions accessible to any of the classes? I know I can create a class with these functions and then instantiate the class with a dummy variable to be able to access the methods but is there a better way?

I was wondering if they found a better way of allowing the use of variables outside of an on function. For example in the script below I can use the variable bounds inside the target.onEnterFrame function because it's declared inside the constructor. I have a Main.fla which loads Main.as as its document class. In Main.as I have a public function named "Main" which runs a trace. I also have another .as file called Preloader.as, which also has a public function in it, this one named "Preloader" with simple trace in it. I just cannot figure out how to use Preloader() from the Preloader class in Main() from the Main class. Main.as loads up fine when the SWF loads and traces.

I'm new to writing several different class files.. and trying to make a set of boxes that expand/collapse by mouse click and timer..
I have 4 class files, Box, BoxGroup, BoxTimer, and Main.
I can call the functions in Box class from BoxGroup class, but not the functions in the BoxTimer class. it keeps throwing this error. I don't understand why since i'm using the same method between the other 2 class files...

i'm trying to make a website with sliding pages via clicking on the buttons, scrolling a mouse wheel and draging a scroller button just like in this wesite [URL].. for a moment i have done navigation via buttons, it works perfectly but i'm strugling with adding scrollbar (just like in that website) that i want to make it scrolable via mousewheel and that drager on the right side.
