I'm having trouble passing the url for a users facebook profile picture to a Loader() variable. I'm using a PHP file to get around the security and from the debug I made, it shows that I'm getting the URL fine, but the Loader runs the error event listener. Here is what my facebookProxy.php file looks like;

I'm trying to load profile images (friend images) from Facebook with AS3 but I seem to be running into a security issue.I'm currently using the "official" Adobe Facebook API for Actionscript 3 which works fine. However, I seem to be having trouble loading profile images when running my application in a browser. The images load fine when running in the Flash IDE.The images are being loaded from URL... and there seems to be a crossdomain.xml policy on that domain:[code]
I just noticed that when I visit one of the images in a browser that I'm actually redirected to Facebook's CDN where the actual image is stored. When I hard-code the image url with the redirected URL I can load the image in the browser. It seems that this is not a security issue after all but a redirection issue.If this is a redirection issue then the question would become; How can I have Flash Player load an image from a redirected URL?It seems that the URLRequest class has a followRedirects property which is only available in AIR.I'm currently using a PHP script to get me the redirected URL as a work around but this of course is far from ideal and potentially a big strain on my server.

i was trying to load a picture in to a loader :

and the only error was : SecurityError: Error #2000: No active security context.
i found the problem !: this error occurred if the xml link is wrong or if the picture is not on called link.

I have a PHP script that returns to me my (and my friends) profile pictures, using the following: [URL] where $ID is the ID retrieved using the PHP API. I then use the following for loading the images in my app:

I've verified repeatedly that the ID being sent back from the PHP is in-fact my ID, and I've copy/pasted the address traced BEFORE the loading function into a browser and I get my correct profile picture, but somewhere in there it's bugging out for my ID in the load and only my ID in the load (I should rephrase it to say it bugs out for WHATEVER user is logged in to Facebook, not just me).
Someone have already done this? I have a solution in mind, but I don't tried yet. Before trying i'm wanna know if it's possible.
My solution is just posting a wall into an html page and getting the source of page in Flash and parsing it.
I'm working with some forms and i need that the user connects to Twitter (from my EXTERNAL web page) to get his/her profile picture (possibly its URL).
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to display the profile images from both facebook and twitter. For facebook, the URLs I'm receiving are something like this (not actual urls):[URL]... Which is then redirected to the 'actual' url like this:[URL].. I'm also doing this with twitter, with the same issue (redirected url).
So, when I load the image, it loads fine. But when I close the container that the image is in, then I get the security sandbox violation. I can get this all to work if I add the URL from the 'actual' image url like this:

"page.swf" is nice working SWF file that load list.xml & picture.jpg. I stored those files on folder data. I create another SWF called "index.swf" and i stored it outside folder data. When i try to load "page.swf" locally using Loader Class from "index.swf", the compiler errors said "can't load list.xml & picture.jpg". Because index.swf searched in it's directory not in folder data.

I realise that there's nothing I can do to completely protect the Flash from being decompiled, but can I prevent the script from being used maliciously?

I got this very strange behavior from FlashPlayer debugger 10.1 r82. When I call loader.load method, no ADDED event is dispatched to the loader object. But if I open the file and call loader.loadBytes instead, an ADDED event is dispatched to the loader object. I suspect the ADDED event is dispatched because the content is being set as the child of Loader object, but why in the other case it is not dispatched?

I'm using the official Adobe Facebook API in my Flash/AS3 application and for some reason the call the /me/picture seems to fail whereas the the call the /me/friends seems to work just fine: This works OK:

I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):

However, the following code running in the same application throws up a popup blocker (again Firefox):

I want to make a picture gallery and use buttons that move you from picture to picture and backwards, but I don't want to tell button 1 to go to frame 2 and button 2 to got to frame 3 and so on (I hope you know what I mean)Can I use on button on a separate layer with the same action set? I have a main "shell" swf which, by clicking several buttons, will load/unload various external swfs into a Placeholder_mc which resides on the main timeline in Shell.swf In the documentation and tutorials I've seen a couple different methods, and I'm not sure I quite understand the difference, or at least the reason you would use one over the other...In the 1st method, you can just add the Loader object using the addChild() method:

What are the pros/cons of adding the entire Loader object, as opposed to the Loader.content and vice versa?
The desired affect is simple: I have a single button... with each click I want it to load text into a dynamic text field and load a corresponding picture or movieclip.There are only three unique text/image combinations- after its displayed the third, with the next click I want it to just start over. All the text functions perfectly with each click.
The problem is:I use "createEmptyMovieClip" then use the resulting clip as a loader clip.. With the first click I want a movieclip from the library to load, so I use the "attachMovie" method- it displays the first library fine.With the next click I want to load an external swf- so I call the "loadMovie" method of the loaderclip... The external swf loads just fine replacing the first library clip.The third clip is where I have problems... now I want to load another library item into the loaderclip... so I tried using the attachMovie method again but the external swf remains static... then with the next click, I discover the first library item no longer loads and the external swf remains still playing- it's like once it's been loaded into the loaderclip it cant be moved...
So I tried adding the "unloadMovie" method in the code for the third click.. it successfully removed the swf... but the next line of code immediately after the unload statement, doesn't work. The line calls the attachMovie method for the loaderclip... but the library item doesnt load... Oddly enough, with the next click, the first library item now does load as if everything's fine... It seems like you cant use the unloadMovie and attachMovie on the same executing code? if that makes any sense... the basic idea was that if I couldnt get the attachmovie method to replace the loaded external swf, then I would use the unload method to remove it, then have code immediately after, to then execute the attachMovie method... but it still doesnt load the library clip. and I know it's not a type-o, because when I comment out the loadMovie and unloadMovie statements, it loads both the library items perfectly ? When i try to load an external swf file using Loader.Load(); The swf starts playing even before the init event is fired. Is there any way to stop the swf from playing atleast until the init event or complete event is fired?
