I am developing a facebook application which sits in an application tab.The app is developed in flash and as such must use fb:swf to embed the swf.Therefore it sets allowScriptAccess = never on the swf.There are 3 things that I will need to do, and I am not sure if it will be possible.1) Load external SWF files into the parent swf2) Load dynamic XML from the server3) Upload files to the serverI am using flash 10.

I'm trying to load profile images (friend images) from Facebook with AS3 but I seem to be running into a security issue.I'm currently using the "official" Adobe Facebook API for Actionscript 3 which works fine. However, I seem to be having trouble loading profile images when running my application in a browser. The images load fine when running in the Flash IDE.The images are being loaded from URL... and there seems to be a crossdomain.xml policy on that domain:[code]
I just noticed that when I visit one of the images in a browser that I'm actually redirected to Facebook's CDN where the actual image is stored. When I hard-code the image url with the redirected URL I can load the image in the browser. It seems that this is not a security issue after all but a redirection issue.If this is a redirection issue then the question would become; How can I have Flash Player load an image from a redirected URL?It seems that the URLRequest class has a followRedirects property which is only available in AIR.I'm currently using a PHP script to get me the redirected URL as a work around but this of course is far from ideal and potentially a big strain on my server.
I am trying to create a facebook application that will allow me to post to a fanpage wall once installed. to be honest i am a newbie when it comes to actionscript and am just looking for a simple solution. I have set one up that allows me to post to a personal profile but dont know how to do so for my fanpage.

I'm trying to display the profile images from both facebook and twitter. For facebook, the URLs I'm receiving are something like this (not actual urls):[URL]... Which is then redirected to the 'actual' url like this:[URL].. I'm also doing this with twitter, with the same issue (redirected url).
So, when I load the image, it loads fine. But when I close the container that the image is in, then I get the security sandbox violation. I can get this all to work if I add the URL from the 'actual' image url like this:

I've developed a Flash quiz app for facebook, which calls for a php script silently upon completion. The php script's function is to generate an image from the POST data sent by the flash, and then post it to the user's wall.That would be all neat and dandy, but for some reason the image never gets uploaded, probably because when i call it, it's like [URL] and the facebook SDK script inside gets an Oauth error, probably because it is not embedded in their canvas.
If I'd like to have my php script generate an image and upload it to the fb wall, then how should I call it from the flash?This is the AS2 code I'm using currently:

As known, each subsequent time that the FileReferenceList.browse() method is called, the FileReferenceList.fileList property is reset to the file(s) that the user selects in the dialog box. And my question is:
How to manage to "remember" all previously selected files, each subsequent time that the FileReferenceList.browse() method is called? so that to append new ones and upload them all later on.
My users upload a certain kind of text file that sometimeshas references to images stored locally on their hard drive. I needto check this file either on the server or within a flash app tosee if it has these references and then grab those images in aflash app to upload to my server.So I can use FileReference easily enough to have users uploadlocal images. But FileReference requires users to select their files with a dialog box. I can't have that. I have been working on a flex uploader, where the user can select multiple files.It works fine when the files are uploaded in a queue (one at a time), however as soon as I try to have it upload 2 files at once I run into issues.
It seems that files will often lock up, and either stay at 1% until every other file is uploaded, or just not complete at all. There is never more than one file uploading at a time.Is there some issue with calling .upload on multiple files at once in Flex?
Using an unobtrusive technology (HTML5, Flash, Java Applet) which runs in the browser, is it possible to handle compressing of files before being uploaded to the server? View 1 RepliesI hate CS5, so I'm trying to stick with CS3. However, I'm doing a Facebook app, and I need to use the GraphAPI, which is a swc file. So far, I cannot figure out how to use the swc file with Flash CS3 Professional. CS5 has a "browse to swc file" option in "Publish Settings". CS3 does not - only "browse to folder". Is this even possible in CS3, or is my only option to switch over to CS5? (Again, I'm talking about Flash Professional, not Flash Builder.)
View 1 RepliesI'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):

However, the following code running in the same application throws up a popup blocker (again Firefox):

When I upload a file to "Up_Test.php" via a regular HTTP form, the image ends up in the destination folder and the test file wasHere.txt is created as well.
When uploading with the AS3 function above, only the wasHere.txt file is created, i. e. the AS3 connected to the PHP script, but it did not send the file.
I made my own Flash CMS where I can upload files to a server via a php-script.It works fine on PC, but stalls on Mac. Well, on Mac it actually upload the file, but somehow don't tell Flash that it's finished uploading the file so the complete-listener never gets the message.

I coded a multiple file uploader using the FileReferenceList and PHP. It works great for me all the time on my Fios internet connection, which is by far faster then DSL, etc... So my issue kinda went unnoticed until I got on a DSL connection. Now, many of the files I was uploading seem to be timing out, but there is no indication of this. No errors, etc... just stops its progress and NEVER finishes. Tried bumping up the script execution time on the server
