it is possible to have a foreground when using getNextHighestDepth? The problem i have is that unless the foreground is the highest depth then anything else attached after that will appear over it rather than under.
i need help about a MC created by AS 3. This MC is Reflect class that extends MC class; when i instance it, the newer Mc is always on the foreground, even if its layer is on the backgrond. So what i have to do?
I am searching for a way to have my spritevisualelement have round corners so that it is displayed in a circular shape.The SpriteVisualElement contains a Video Stream from FMS to display but I do not want it to be rectangular.[code] But the Container keeps being in the background and the whole remote Video which is displayed in the "vid" (=id) is in the foreground.How can I set the Container to be in Foreground? then just setting whole application background would do the job.
Is there an event dispatched when a modal is brought to the front in Flex? Basically there are two times when I would want to listen for this event: When the modal is first created (although in theory creationComplete / show / etc.. could suffice here). When the user brings a modal that is not in the front to the front by clicking on it. In my case the popups I am working with are descendants of TitleWindow and listening for focusIn does not seem to work reliably.
Is it possible to have a single jpg (1024x768) scale up & down with the browser window (no matter the aspect ratio, stretched to 100% browser width/height), while keeping the foreground content (most likely added via loadMovie) in a fixed scale and centered on the screen? An example can be seen on the Second Story home page.
I have a movie clip showing party streamers animating upwords, and another movieclip that has letters falling into place. What I want is for the streamers to be in the background and the letters to be in the foreground.
The AS for the streamers is -
import com.effects.BackgroundEffect; var effect:BackgroundEffect = new BackgroundEffect (); effect.bgEffect ("effect28","up",0.3,{zigZag:z = new Array (1, 30)});

I have tried giving the attachmovie click various depths, but that makes no difference. how to make sure the new BackgroundEffect movie clip appears in the background?
I have created a Flash application running in a browser (Firefox 3 on Windows XP). When I move this application from foreground to background and (after some time) viceversa, I notice a considerable slowdown, i.e. for about thirty seconds the application becomes unusable.
My swf is very small (~200 KB), but this swf creates *many* buttons and *many* other graphical widget (with statical images), so the RAM occupied is considerable (~150 MB).
I initially assumed that was caused by the swap mechanism of the operating system or of the browser. This was *not* true, and it was confirmed by the fact that, by default, Mozilla Firefox prevent Windows from swapping out memory when the program is minimized (see config.trim_on_minimize option). Nothing has changed even disabling the paging system of Windows.[code]...
tutorial where when you click on a movie clip it moves to a certain location on the page and then zoom in and makes it a certain size. Also i want it to move back to its original location if you click it again.I want the move and zoom to be smooth so the users can see it move across the screen then gradually get bigger.
well i want to make buttons that on rollover move to left, on rollout move back to their initial position, and if clicked, they but stay this time at the final rollover place, and be there until something else is clicked. When something else is clicked, the previous button , returns to its initial place. So i ve got it all figured out except for the freeze and move part when the buttons are clicked. All it does now , is when they are clicked they freeze at the position i want, but i havent got a clue how to update them, after so they start moving back, and reacting on rollover and rollout, when the next button is clicked.
I know this is very noob, but I need a simple AS move and loop. Move an object across the stage and once out of site, loop and start over again? It needs to be a slow and endless loop.
Using Tween class maybe? I tried the easeOut. But if will write 2 Tween, the 2nd one will overwrite the 1st one, so I only see the obj moving in the 2nd Tween direction, not the 1st Tween direction. I know the coordinates for the 2nd Tween below is not correct (cos all coordinates shld follow the defined reference point), so I need to find out the logo's width and height. But is alright now cos it is for testing purpose.
I am having some dificulty making a path for this enemy i'm trying to create... cause i want him to rotate + move, then stop, then shoot, then rotate back and move off screen... Its easier if you see it.. you can download the swf file in the zipped archive to demonstrate what i mean. I did it there with tweens. Anyway.. i tried and make it but i'm a little stuck on the stopping part... you can also see what i did in the fla file attatched...
i have 2 movieclips: i want to move both of them but the second movie clip will only move if the first clip reach his final destination how do i do that?
how to do an object move towards the mouse when i move the mouse the towards the object and backwards when i move the move away, something liike the menu on [URL]
i am having a problem with making an mc(fielder) move towards another mc(ball). The ball is always moving.the problem is that the fielder gets the shakes all the time(he goes all shaky)
I need to move an MC to different x, y coordinates depending which button on the navigation bar they (the user) selected.
Basically if "Contact" is clicked the background MC watermark moves to a specific location, then if "Portfolio" is clicked the same watermark MC moves to a different x,y coordinate. I would prefer the transition be smooth and fluid.
I am using Koolmoves to create a simple .swf file that allows a user to click on a picture and it moves to the next frame and stops. I created the two frames, created a button on the picture in the first frame, designated that on mouse events press and release go to frame 2 and stop. But when I play the movie, the first frame appears and then the second frame appears without any action on my part.
I'm using CS4 (actually the original fla was written in 2004MX) and have a completed frame-by-frame animation which is now in the wrong place on the Stage.
The final animation now only takes up a small part of the original stage, so I want to move the whole thing ( a complicated mixture of frame-by-frame and tweens , 6 layers and 700 frames) up to the top-left corner and then reduce the document to fit.
I've been doing a bit of development on an iMac 2.66 Intel Core 2 Duo with a second monitor, it's been a great machine to work on, but would crash if I got too crazy testing in Flash with big stuff like video. So when I saw the new 27" iMac i7 quad I thought it might be just the machine to rid me of obsessive saving and crashing.
I just got everything setup, the mac is beautiful, screen is huge and I'm ready. Here's the rub, Flash seems to publish/respond slower when I'm testing something in Flash. And the panels are weird and sticky - I'm getting lots of beach-balling. So far a disappointment. I may have to keep the little iMac next to me until we work this out, bummer. Anybody out there make a switch to an iMac i7 and running Flash CS4?? Do you think this is a processor issue or possibly a Snow Leopard thing??
I have several .swf files. I need each button I press to play an animation in that same .swf then, once IT'S DONE PLAYING, jump to another .swf which will contain the continuation of that page.
I've been looking everywhere for what seems like a basic question and I can't seem to get a grasp on what direction I need to move.
I need to move my navigation to top left of the stage, and it is appearing at x:275 y:200...Can someone look at my flash navigation? I try to do it myself but it wont move the entire navigation just some part, do i have to do this manually or their is a easy way of doing this?
I have looked around for this but haven't found any that seemed close to what I am planning on doing. My question is: Is it possible to have movieclips move from one swf to another?
My problem: I have two swf's next to each other that are in an html page that simulate the look of one swf. I need to animate text here and it won't be user generated. I have looked at the local connection on Adobe but it seems as though it's user initiated. i would like to animate using tweener.
I'm having trouble with this function I created. It should move the clip to a specific given point, but it's not doing it. here's the code:
Code: public function moveThis(pointX:Number, pointY:Number) { if(Math.abs(clip._x - pointX) < 20) { clip._x = pointX;
[Code]....
This just doesn't work, is there another way to do this? the inputed x and y values (pointX and pointY) are the points I want to move to, and clip is the movie clip that I want to move there. The clip moes across the x distance first, THEN the y distance. I need it to do both at the same time.
I'm testing flash and decided to make an asteroids clone. It works well but all the code is loaded in the first, and only, frame.Now I want to add a preloader but I cant find the way to move the code to the second frame. I don't want to create a swf and embed it. Also there are no assets created in flash, it has been coded exclusively in flashdevelop (I find it easier to use).
