And I call it from my generic restful delegate like this:
public function index(params:Object):void { var call:AsyncToken = services.getHTTPService(resourceName+"Index").send(params); call.addResponder(responder); }
I want to know how I can use the params Object I pass inside the url definition (the ??? above).
EDIT: I'll explain myself if you didn't understand my problem: I have a restful api written in rails to which I'm connecting. Doc is a child resource of Job. If I want to get all docs I have to supply a job_id too. Therefore in the service the url must be changed for each .send() call, with the proper job_id (the ??? part above). I'd like to call it like myDelegate.index({job_id:34}) and insert that job_id field in the Service URL.
I am trying to work with a simple HTTPService. The problem is that my webservice is conscious of the order of arguments it gets. I will tell the problem with an example:
var service:HTTPService = new HTTPService(); var params:Object = new Object(); params.rows = 0; params.facet = "true"; service.send(params);
Note that in the above code I have mentioned the parameter rows before facet, but the url I recieve is facet=true&rows=0. So I recieve the argument rows before facet and hence my webservice does not work. I figured out that the contents of array is always sent in alphabetical order, which I dont want.
Is there any way I can achieve explict ordering of parameters sent?
Note that I am not in power of changing the logic of webservice(its basically a RPC service supporting both desktop and web client).
I'm trying to reuse the HTTPService object in a flex app but I'm running into a problem. In the handler for ResultEvent.RESULT I'm removing the listener, but it isn't removed. I've have to catch the asyncToken from send() and attach a new property so I know what it's supposed to do in the handler.URL...You can right-click and view source.Has anyone else run into an issue where listeners aren't removed? Should HTTPService not be reused?
I know that httpService in Flex can configure the data as an object, but I want to do the same thing, but with URLLoader. Is that possible and how would I do it?
How can I read a parameter of the XML and display in the trace? I cant do. Parameter: lojaID = [xmlNode1.firstChild.childNodes[0]]; I try to read but appears undefined.
I have a .swf file that is not looping although I have added the parameter to do so. It plays just the once, and at the end of the video it stops instead of looping. <div id="video"> <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="211" height="316" id="FLVPlayer" style="visibility: visible; "> <param name="movie" value="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf"> <param name="quality" value="best"> <param name="wmode" value="opaque"> [Code] .....
How can I reorganise the code below so the trace commands output i for each element in the photourls array and not just the last element? In a 6 element array, the trace(i); line outputs 5,5,5,5,5,5 rather than 0,1,2,3,4,5.
I am a bit stuck here for the past few days. I have a SWF running in Security.LOCAL_TRUSTED sandbox. I can load my JPEGs and simple SWFs without any problems
I am using Flash CS5 and I have created a large, rarely changing framework that I don't want to be recompiled every time I use it in my projects.I must be doing something wrong because the "auto-complete" functionality doesn't show the names of the parameters of the functions.For example, I have a function:
public class Hey { public function show(name:String, num:Number, data:Array):void {...} }
I have my flex object embedded to JSP page.The JSP page retrieves user information like user name and group from portal profile object and stores in http session parameters. The flex Object makes a remote call to Employee.class to perform persona based operation.
I retrieved the session id in JSP and also in the Employee.class both are same. But I am not able to retrieve the username stored in the http session from FlexSession. I read in the internet that the FelxSession will hold all httpSession information as well. It's always coming as null. Correct me if I am wrong.
I'm trying to trace the path of an object by using setPixel on the object's position every frame in a BitmapData/Bitmap pairing. These pixels aren't showing up normally and I suspect I have a fundamental misunderstanding of the BitmapData class. Here's what I'm doing:
public var contrailBase:BitmapData; public var contrail:Bitmap; private var contrailColor:uint;[code].....
Using this code, the red pixels don't show up. If I initialize contrailBase to 0xFF000000 instead then I get a black screen on which the red pixels DO draw, but I need the bitmap to be transparent except for the contrail. What am I doing wrong?
I have a Flex client making RESTful calls to a webservice using HTTPService. The server is returning JSON responses, which we would like to compress. Can Flex using HTTPService handle gzip-encoded responses? If so, what steps are required to make it work (e.g., which headers to set, how to decompress, etc.)? If not, can you suggest a simple alternative?
How can I set a progress bar that may start when an HTTPService is sent and stop when the HTTPService ends?I followed code given here but encountered following error Type was not found or was not acompile-time constant: ProgressWin.Don't know whether ProgressWin.mxml is a component or module or what. I just created a new ProgressWin.mxml file and pasted the code you posted but following error popped out before
XML is cool in flex, but I have an annoying problem to solve, caused by what I can imagine is a feature. You see, when you have just one tag of something, it creates an object which is not an array. But when finds more than one, it puts it on an array structure.[code]I could check the format of resObj.specifictag (to check if it is has an array) and then duplicate the code (for each case). But -even if it's calling a function- I don't think it is an elegant solution.Well, I hope someone has a good idea on this matter. (I know from experience that SO has much more C++ experts than flex, but well...)The perfect thing would be that HTTPrequest handled every tag in a consistent way (using always arrays... though I'm guessing that that would also have its drawbacks).
Why are there two different HTTPService classes in Flex?thisandthisAnd the second one inherits the first one.Why couldn't there be a single class combining the two?
I am using an HTTPService in my Flex application. I want to load several xml files, each about 1mb in size. Sometimes I need to stop loading previous xml file and start loading a new one. If I use HTTPService.cancel(); or HTTPService.disconnect() , it increase the time to get the answer from the server.Is there a quick way to stop the previous loading in HTTPService and start new one?
I've one loader which load a png file. I used contentLoaderInfo to intercept COMPLETE event like this:
loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.Complete, handler); The problem is that at the complete event I want to push this object into an array, like this:
function handler(e:event){ var array:Array = new Array(); array.push(e.target); }
E.target is the reference to the contentInfoloader, while I need the reference to the loader itself. How can i resolve this issue?
I can't add name and image from Facebook contacts to SqLite, becouse adding is inside in loop and loader start when Event is Complete. Fllowing code adds data to the database, but in the name of the object is the last person out of the loop.
private var person:PersonVO; protected function handleFriendsLoad(response:Object, fail:Object):void { if (fail) { return }
I've got to build a kids game at the moment for my school, and I was planning to have a sort of archaeological dig, with the kids required to rub the screen (it's for a touch-screen) to "un-earth" the bones underneath.I was thinking of either erasing an overlay and checking for a hitTest between the two objects, or coloring in with a line or something.Is it possible to color something in and check when the object has been completely colored? or possible to erase an overlying object? and if so, can you point me in the direction of a tutorial or a quick explanation?
