Actionscript 3 :: Add Complete Contact Object From Facebook To SqLite?
Apr 14, 2012
I can't add name and image from Facebook contacts to SqLite, becouse adding is inside in loop and loader start when Event is Complete. Fllowing code adds data to the database, but in the name of the object is the last person out of the loop.
private var person:PersonVO;
protected function handleFriendsLoad(response:Object, fail:Object):void
{
if (fail) { return }
I am an ActionScript developer and I am working on an interactive SWF that gets loaded by Drupal. I am using SWFObject 2.2, the Facebook API for Actionscript, and the SWF Tools module for Drupal.
The purpose is to allow the user to create a picture and then post it to thier newsfeed. The interaction with Facebook works great when I load it into a static html page using swfobject.embedSWF(), but when Drupal loads it (via SWF Tools) the swf loads but the Facebook methods do not work. For example, Facebook.init(APP_ID, onInit) never returns. Normally Facebook.init(APP_ID, onInit) will return a success object if the user is already logged in, or a fail object if the user is not. When my swf is loaded by Drupal this does not work.
I've triple checked the SWF Tools configuration, and as I said, the swf loads and works, but just can't contact Facebook.
I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):
the source files work perfectly when I upload them to my server - but when I insert the form into my flash website - I am unable to receive the contact email at all. The problem must be with the flash file becuase I have not altered the php (except to send to my email)
I am using Flash CS3 (but publishing for action script2) I have double checked all my input field sare named correctly with var_names that match the php code. The form fields have been created as a moviclip named "form" and the following action script attached:
I've one loader which load a png file. I used contentLoaderInfo to intercept COMPLETE event like this:
loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.Complete, handler); The problem is that at the complete event I want to push this object into an array, like this:
function handler(e:event){ var array:Array = new Array(); array.push(e.target); }
E.target is the reference to the contentInfoloader, while I need the reference to the loader itself. How can i resolve this issue?
I've got to build a kids game at the moment for my school, and I was planning to have a sort of archaeological dig, with the kids required to rub the screen (it's for a touch-screen) to "un-earth" the bones underneath.I was thinking of either erasing an overlay and checking for a hitTest between the two objects, or coloring in with a line or something.Is it possible to color something in and check when the object has been completely colored? or possible to erase an overlying object? and if so, can you point me in the direction of a tutorial or a quick explanation?
I'm using the gskinner.com bridge to load and talk between a as2.0 object in as3.0 . The library works smoothly. If I upload the html it works smoothly. But when I embed it as using fb:swf on facebook, the as2.0 object stops loading, any clues?
I am a bit stuck here for the past few days. I have a SWF running in Security.LOCAL_TRUSTED sandbox. I can load my JPEGs and simple SWFs without any problems
I am having an issue with a class I'm working on. I currently load an image as a bitmap and store its data into regState:BitmapData so that I may make new instances of that image later on. When I test if I can use the loaded data at a later time with my newBitmapIntance() function, it says that regState is null. I'm lost as to why this is the case, since it works flawlessly to create an instance of itself in my loadContent() function.
Class so far For reference: package { import flash.display.MovieClip;
I made a test where I download a file using URLLoader - something like this:
[Code]....
in the middle of the downloading process I physically disconnect the internet connection. the download stalls - but after aproximately 30 seconds downloadSuccessful is invoked, although only half of the data was downloaded. how can I make sure that the data to be downloaded is complete and correct?
I am loading in binary files with the url class which can be quite large 10mb + and it works fine on my server but another server I am testing on it can sometimes not work. Sometimes it will not load the file and other times it will only load about 20% and it throw a complete event??? Then of course other times it works fine. This server is https maybe that has something to do this it?
I have no experience with Object Oriented Programming, so I wonder about the following:
1) Will the code past the .LOAD line (in red) be executed only after the image completes loading? 2) Can I nest several listeners as seeing in my code below?
I'm trying to determine the practical difference between using the com.facebook.session.WebSession and com.facebook.session.JSSession. The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.
I have literally spent HOURS trying to solve this mystery... but simply can't seem to get hold of it. I am using the same code lines (literally!) as the example here (official adobe tutorial) and I get different result.

Everything works fine, i.e. everything till it is time to fire the loggedin event. I get asked to log in and all permissions are asked correctly. After I log myself in to facebook, the loggedin event doesn't fire. Is there any way of solving this problem??
i need to connect to have a button on my website that connects to facebook (if not already logged in) and posts to the users wall.I've only done this from within an iFrame - do i still need AppId etc etc?
I have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :
function postToFeed() { var obj = { method: 'feed',[code].........
I've recently used the 'Static HTML' application to add autoplaying flash content to a Facebook Page.Nothing too fancy, no sound, and only a few secs long. Now, Facebook say:-"Apps on Pages must not host media that plays automatically without a user's interaction."
What do they mean by 'Media' exactly? I can understand a ban on autoplaying audio content but does the ban extend to something as harmless as an animated GIF? Or more to the point, does an autoplaying .swf file fall under this?
Lastly, what course of action would Facebook take if I did violate this rule? Would they issue a warning (giving me an opportunity to remove the 'offending' item) or would they just shut down my page without any consultation?
I can't find in the Adobe Facebook API how to log the user out of Facebook. The FacebookSessionUtil (and the related sessions and Facebook classes) all have a .logout() function, which will invalidate the user's current *session* within the swf, but it doesn't log the user out of Facebook.
What am I missing here? How are you supposed to log the user out of Facebook with this API? Since it's part of the TOS for Facebook Connect apps, you'd think this would be available in the API somewhere.
I am getting a mysterious result when trying to load profile images from a logged in Facebook user's friends list into an as3 canvas app. In pretty much every (non-facebook) application I've made where loading an image is required I use the following:
private function loadPic():void { var url:String = Facebook.getImageUrl(_friendslistObjectArray[_loadCount].id); _picLoader = new Loader();[code]............
I can't retrieve the image from the event object,and I am given no error at all.It all just fails silently.If I remove the line var image = evt.target.content, the process runs through the whole array.I can't think of any reason this would occur. Furthermore, if I look in firebug's net activity, I see I see the images get loaded as long as I do not have the line I just mentioned included. I just can't seem to get the image data from the event object to add it to stage or a container movieclip.
After I upload a photo on a desktop facebook application i need to store it's post id in a database. From the facebook ActionScript SDK documentation:pi() methodpublic static function api(method:String, callback:Function, params:* = null, requestMethod:String = GET):voidMakes a new request on the Facebook Graph API.Parameters [...]callback:Function — Method that will be called when this request is complete The handler must have the signature of callback(result:Object, fail:Object); On success, result will be the object data returned from Facebook. On fail, result will be null and fail will contain information about the error.
So I implemented my callback function as follows: protected function handleUploadComplete(response:Object, fail:Object):void{ status = (response) ? 'Success' : 'Error';
I am wanting to try to use a sqlite database in my project.I have downloaded several sqlite managers from the internet and they all save the database with a sqlite extension.However I see in flash we use the db extension (is this correct?);How can I use the databases I create if they all save with a sqlite extension?
I'm working on a simple todo app that has a column for each day of the week. On startup, the app checks to see if there are any incomplete tasks from before the current date. If so, they're moved to the top of the current date's column. The app is cloud-based, but the tasks are backed up for offline mode with an SQLite db. I can easily move the tasks by updating their date property, but I need the order property of each task to increment starting at 0 to place them at the top. I need to be able to define a count variable in SQLite alone and increment it with each update that's performed. I know this code doesn't work, but it's an easy way of explaining what needs to be done:
I have an as3 app which utilises an sqlite db to save metrics data. It is well known that as3 is single threaded, so when I save to this db, the Stage Video I am playing becomes jumpy! I have heard that saving db data in batches can speed up this process so I save in a loop:
for (var i:int=0; i < metricsObject.metricsComponentData.length; i++){ switch (metricsObject.metricsComponentData[i].mouseType) { case MetricsCollator.MOUSE_OVER: this._query_txt = "INSERT INTO " + this._tablePath[0] + " VALUES (null, " + this._sessionID +
[code]...
I have looked into pseudo threading examples but they all require a sprite or stage instance, the class I am executing this code in, is not a display class, I don't really want to pass an instance of the stage into this class.
I am creating an application in Flex that uses an embedded SQLite database. The data in the database contains quotes and other special characters which are escaped using a backslash or ''.Before I retrieve the data and render it in a Flex text area control I want to remove the ''. Is there any function in Flex which can help me do this - some equivalent of stripslashes() in PHP?
I'm having a problem with an expression in my sql statement in SQLite for Adobe AIR basically I have this sql = "UPDATE uniforms SET status=@status WHERE customerId IN(19,20)"; updateStmt.parameters["@status"] = args[1]; updateStmt.execute();
if I run the above code it works, updating the status when the id are 19 and 20
but if I pass the ids list as a parameter like this
sql = "UPDATE uniforms SET status=@status WHERE customerId IN(@ids)"; updateStmt.parameters["@status"] = args[1]; updateStmt.parameters["@ids"] = "19,20"; updateStmt.execute();
it gives me and error, saying could not convert text value to numeric value, which make sense because I'm passing and string but the IN expression should convert it accordingly, like it does when I pass directly the list values, why is not working the other way,
I would like to save settings for an AIR application to a local SQLite database. Wherever I read, it's recommended that you use File.applicationStorageDirectory to save the database file.
My problem is that in most cases, the AIR application will be first started by an administrator that configs and setup the application (and save the settings to database) and later used by different users. And what I would like to know is if there is possible to save the database to a location that every user can load it from? As I understand it, File.applicationStorageDirectory points to the user directory? There is probably possible too make the admins set correct permissions and stuff, but I don't want to make it difficult too install...
