The problem is the client who can view my webpage has no flash installer or totally no flash installed on their computer. Actually I have a flash.exe or flash installer in my server. Jun 21, 2004I would like to know whether is it possible that Actionscript play .wav files that are stored on the client side? If yes, how? Otherwise, what are the alternatives to enable playback of wave files on the user's computer? I plan to create a button that will playback pre-recorded speech(mp3 format stored in the server) as well as user recorded speech (.wav format stored on the client side after user recorded the speech). How can I do so? I would want to make it away that it appears like a Q&A conversation session between the computer (mp3) and user (recorded wave).

Mar 11, 2010I have written a Flex Library project - a .swc file - which is supposed to read default configuration from a XML file inside .swc. This .swc file would be used by other modules to perform some operation. I am unable to make the URLLoader to load the XML inside the .swc file.When i run this as a normal Flex project, things work fine without any issue. With swc, it looks bin-debug folder for the XML and not inside .swc. I want the URLLoader to look inside .swc for the config file. How do i achieve this?

There is another movie which is loaded into the main movie and I want the loading movie to call the resize function which is located into the main movie. In short how can I access functions which are located on the main loading movie.
I have treid _level0.resize(); // Doesn't work
_level.parent.resize(); // Doesn't work
But at the same time there is a text field which I can easily update throught the loaded movie by

The ActionScript 3 SDK for Facebook Platform is under construction for the next few weeks to comply with new facebook requirements so I don't trust the current build to be useful.
We have searched and built tests for a week with no luck. I have a feeling the answer is either very simple or not possible.

Nov 27, 2009I've a simple template I purchased with a flash header. There is a top navigation across the top of the header in previewing it. However, no matter how much I try to locate each of the text to change it per button, in the library, all of the buttons have the same name, in this particular, "main page", but NOT the rest of the menu from left to right in preview mode. I've went through every single library item to locate how to simply change the text, that's all for each of the menu items and cannot find the residual text for each button on the top of the preview navigation. In my library there is no navmenu or anything like that. [code]...
So, no where else in the library do I see, in this particular, the text of the residual navigation items which in this case is at the top of the header. This is nuts. I need to change the remaining items in the top navigation, to things like "main page" which already have, then "buying", "selling, "movng" and so forth, but cannot find how to change the current text. So simple, but I can't figure this out.

Flex :: Get Property Values From Shared Object In Client's Load Event?
Mar 5, 2010I am using shared object to share data between two users. First user connect to shared object and set some value in shared object. Please consider that second user has not connected with the shared object yet.Now when second user connects to the server and try to get that property set by first user, he could get shared object but could not get properties of Shared object set by first user. I observed few times that Second user can get these properties within "Sync" event between two users. But I would like to get these values for Second user in any stage (i.e. in load event etc.). Whenever Second user tries to get the property of Shared object, the object will reset the actual property value and then return reset value.
1) Is there any way to get all the properties of shared object before sync event called, as I want to get it immediately when second user connect to the application and perform next task based on the values stored in shared object.
2) Is it possible for second user to check whether any property has been set by first user? So that second user can use the property instead of reset it.

However, the second one isn't going ahead even a single frame. The code that I have mentioned below is located withing the second movieclip containing background image. And I think this code is causing the issue because when I remove this it plays perfectly fine. The function of this code is to automatically re-size background image with the browser dimensions. Jun 2, 2010I am working with a project that has many scenes. Each scene has a movie clip attached to it. The first scene is simple...just a couple of buttons and that is it. My worry is that when I add all of the videos that correspond with each button and publish the SWF will be a huge file. THE QUESTION: Does flash load ALL scenes of a movie or does it load the first scene and then load the other scenes when the user needs to view them?
My ultimate goal is to just have the first scene load and then when the user clicks on the buttons contained within that scene that only upon release does the corresponding scene load. Maybe I am doing this completely wrong and should look at doing it another way.

Mar 17, 2010I am trying to build a client-to-client streaming program - client 1 has a webcam and client 2 will connect to client 1 and be able to view the webcam. Is this possible using 2 swf clients? Can someone point me in the right direction as to what commands would be used to connect the two clients. I have tried: binary sockets Connect() where each clients points to the other and they both time-out NetConnection to try to point each client to one another to establish a connection, but no luck with that either; this seems more oriented towards streaming content to a flash media server rather than to another flash client.

Actionscript 3 :: Client + Grails Server - Processing Audio At The Client And Sending It Back To The Server
Mar 8, 2012We're writing a flash application that can download a MP3 file, convert it to a Sound object, get the raw data and make some processing (like adding sounds, change octaves). After the processing, we want to send the data back to the server in chunks, so the server will be able to glue the data together and recover the new generated file. The problem is: if we send to the server "wav" pieces of sound, we are able to glue them together without any problem in the generated file. However, if we convert each wav piece to a mp3 file (so we can send a smaller file to the server) and join the mp3 files at the server, the result is a sound with some problems at the merge point.
This is how we load the mp3 file from the server:
