View 1 RepliesI'm creating a pure actionscript 3 mobile project for Blackberry Playbook. One problem I have came across is that there seems to be no inbuilt way to handle view navigation. In flex mobile projects, we have the spark.components.ViewNavigator component, but this isn't available on a pure AS3 mobile project. These two links are both making their own libraries for view navigation...

if there was a way to provide an option to view a flash site in html.
The site is currently built in flash, but have had feedback from people trying to view the site that they need flash player 10, is there any way to have a link option on the page that asks you to download the latest flash player, to view the site in html (html site has also been developed).
I don't know if this is possible, but is there a command line tool included in the Flex SDK that allows me to do the same as the "view source" option in Flex/FlashBuilder : I'd like to generated HTML files with my source code etc but I don't have FlexBuilder,
View 2 RepliesI ve recently started to read about Context Menus, but i dont know how i can make a "save" command. Of course this has nothing to do with the context menu, but it would be nice if it was there. how can i make a save option so that a user would be able to save a picture (as if it was an html page)? Does it require use of xml in order a "save as" window can be opened?

View 3 RepliesI have a Flash drop down list component, I also have a set of buttons. When a user clicks one of the buttons, I want one of the options in the drop down list to be 'selected', but without the form being submitted.Just to clarify, I have a map of the France where all the French regions are buttons, and next to this I have a form.When a user clicks a region on the map, I want the drop down list in the form to select that region from the list.
View 3 Replieswhere the Alpha Value is located? It is not show up on the properties menu. I'm trying to animate and object to fade in and out similar to this walk through. CS flash 5 seems be different.
View 4 RepliesA "Remove" context menu item is to be shown when the user right-clicks on a button. If the user clicks on the "Remove" option, that button should be removed from its Tile parent container. How would I implement this using Flex 3 and ActionScript 3?
View 1 Replieslooking to create an option menu (at least that is what it is called in HTML).[code]looking to do this in flash though with AS3, PHP and MySQL. The data can be stored in XML. please let me know if anyone has done something like this before, or if they know of a good tutorial which details how.
View 1 RepliesI have a large swf that needs a preloader. With a normal preloader it took a couple seconds and then came in loaded halfway through. To solve this I created a small swf that loaded first and then loaded the larger swf through this one.
[Code]...
My problem: when the user goes back to the menu and tries to view the larger swf again the script that checks if it has loaded (and it has been loaded completely already) does not fire and therefore the file will not play again.
Anyone know how I can do this? cus I really dont want to have that there, can I cover it?I'd also like to disable the hotkeys like ctrl += to zoom in etc...(How do I detect a zoom in, then make it zoom out?)
View 2 Repliesany idea to disable "Download This Video To RealPlayer" option in Flash Player context menu..
View 3 RepliesI'm about to have to write a web page/app that will serve the agenda for circa 100 people on a page. One line per person, one column per day with 3 clickable zones in each cell. In HTML, the page is way complex for the browser to load quick and there is no possibility to click on a border between 2 cells to for example split an event that spreads among several cells. So I search an not too overkilling technology to render this kind of view. I begun with a PHP generated HTML page but the number of elements in the page make the mouse move jerky.
Moving to JAVA would give me better performances regarding the reuse of the generator of the view but it will still be an HTML page. So, here is my question: do you think that going forward with JAVA and its graphical capability is the simple solution or is Flash a better option for this part of a Web App? I'm afraid of the code I'll have to write in JAVA to handle the GUI presentation as well as the events generated by the 1000's cells plus borders of the page. In Flash, the graphical part seems simpler even if the actions handling is still huge.
I'm currently using RobotLegs with the Presentation Model pattern to develop a Flex 4 project. I understand that all business logic related to a View resides in the Presentation Model associated with that view, however, I am confused when it comes to View specific logic.For example, I have an indicator that needs to be positioned relatively to list items depending on which list item is selected. Is it acceptable in the Presentation pattern to put the logic that will position the indicator in the View and simply have that logic run in reaction to a selectedIndex property changing in the presentation model?The reason I am considering this is that since the Presentation Model does not have a reference to the view it is difficult to come up with an ideal solution for manipulating view components.
View 1 RepliesI am wondering how to make a 360º view bubble, like they use for Google Street View, but have no idea how to go at accomplishing this task... i have the string of photos that i attached in photoshop(so that if you connected the left to the right it would be a full 360º view).
View 1 RepliesI am using Flash CS4 AS3.. When I open my browser "Internet Explorer 7" it opens normal. But When I open a link using the following Flash code it opens half in length and half in width. I need to click on "Maximise" button to view in full. How to solve the problem? It is our Intranet link.
PM3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,PM3ClickHandler);
function PM3ClickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { navigateToURL (new URLRequest ("http://engineering/history/thisyear/ceomessage.htm"));
}
I tried modifying the line as well. It also doesnt work.
navigateToURL(new URLRequest ("http://engineering/history/thisyear/ceomessage.htm"), "_blank");
I have one .mxml file (the Application) with a ViewStack (with 4 views) and a ControlBard, obviously I can change the views with it, but what I want to do is: in view #1 I have an image which I want to convert to a "hyperlink", so when I click it I go to View #2, is this doable? Also I would like to pass somehow some data (like a String) to that View #2 (lets say the it's a user avatar I click so I want to go to the second view which will show me his profile, that's why I need his name/id).
View 1 RepliesMy problem is that when I try to pass an object from the navigator.pushView(view, dataobject), I can't figure out how to access the dataobject from actionscript. I can access {dataobject.property} from MXML easily, but I want to set a variable in the new view to the passed dataobjects property.
View 1 Repliesin flash, I encounted a source file that is cropped and I cannot move it, is there some sort of cropped view in flash I dont know about? I cannot find anyinformation about it, it has rulers displayed as far as I remember.
Basically you cannot move in the file to edit anything viewpoint wise, everything outside of the movie area is invisible and not there? As if cropped.
I am having an issue with a playbook app I am working on. This is the first one i've done using Flex Burrito Hero, and on the simulator I noticed that the app fails to minimize gracefully (when multi-tasking etc). Are there any resources for handling minimization or anything that could help guide me to debug whats going on with that?
View 1 RepliesHow can I embed and play a video from a given url, in a playbook app written in as3?
View 1 RepliesI need a line chart in my playbook app. does anybody know a library for that? (for as3 mobile air projects)
View 3 RepliesI am trying to write a Playbook app using the AIR SDK, I need a surface of some kind that I can load a large image onto, then subsequently place some smaller images on top of and add the whole lot to a ScrollPane so I can pan it around the screen. I have tried by adding the image to a sprite and displaying that in a group in the application but the image does not show up. What is the correct surface kind I should be using here and how should I be loading the images? (currently using "Embed" and loading the image into a BitmapAsset.)
var scroll:ScrollPane = new ScrollPane();
scroll.setScrollContent(image);
scroll.update();
scroll.graphics.beginBitmapFill(icon.bitmapData);
scroll.graphics.drawRect(100,100,56,56);
scroll.graphics.endFill();
scroll.update();
This code causes a non-moving icon to be drawn behind the scrollContent, I want to add something on top of the scroll content that moves with it.
How can I instantiate a TabViewNavigator from actionscript for the playbook? Currently, I add the necessary spark frameworks and have this piece of code in the Main of my actionscript project:
[SWF(width="1024", height="600", backgroundColor="#ffffff", frameRate="30")]
public class Main extends Sprite {
private var waitDialog:BaseDialog = new BaseDialog ();
public function Main() {
super ();
[Code] .....
When the button is clicked, the button disappears as you would expect but the tab navigator is not added/does not appear. I tried without removing the Main class but that does not work either. What do I need to do to set up a tab interface. I can get similar code working through Flex and MXML but not in actionscript.
I've got a QNX Picker control that isn't displaying the selected values when there's only one item in the picker. For example:
import qnx.ui.picker.Picker;
var pick:Picker = new Picker();
var arr:Array = [{label: "hi!"}];
pick.dataProvider = new DataProvider([new DataProvider(arr)]);
pick.selectedIndices = [0];
addChild(pick);
The result is a blank picker. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. When there are 2 items in the arr Array, the picker actually shows the selected Indices. How do I get the picker to display the selected item when there is only 1 item to choose from? I'm using Burrito, with Playbook SDK 0.9.3.
Ive been trying to write my first Blackberry Adobe Flex application but get the following errors:
1172: Definition mx.controls:Label could not be found.
I am creating a Playbook app in Adobe Flex/AIR. I have a situation where there is too much content to show all on one page so I would like it where the content overflows vertically, the user can swipe to scroll down, like they were viewing a website on an Ipad.
I am extending the View class to make my screens, I could place every screen in a one element List or surround it all in a Scroller but surely there must be an inbuilt way to do this on the Playbook?
With the limited Blackberry documentation, I'm struggling to find the solution,
After deploying the Flex 4.5 Spark Scroller control to a Playbook, the default result is choppy/jittery scrolling and no spring at the top and bottom of the scrolling.
Is there a way to change this behavior to a normal smooth touch scrolling with start and end springiness?
Is possible to make a "push", initiated by a server, to send data down to a Blackberry playbook application?
If so how is this best implemented in Flex/Actionscript? ie. How do we capture this on the client?
