I am trying to print a movieclip with printjob in flash. This movieclip contains two layers: one with a PNG image with transparency and one below with a jpg image. Basically I've created a print class which has all the print job code in to print a sprite, however when I print it, the sprite which I've created acts like a mask and the area where the sprite graphic should be is filled with my background colour.When I scale the image to the width and height of the print width and height, obviously I've got a page full of purple.here's my code:

View 1 RepliesA client needs a standard consumer color printer for printing name badges from my flash app. Last time we used the app, I couldn't do any pre-testing of their computer and printer beforehand. So, of course, the margins were completely wrong when the time came to print. Ideally, I'll have the flash app's bugs worked out for the next run, but for safety's sake does anyone know of a printer that has good controls for custom margins and offsets, in case some minor adjustments are needed?
View 1 RepliesI'm currently constructing a scrollbar as part of a website using as3 and png images. I've got loaders for each image inside of an array, and when loading on each image finishes, it's added as a child to a sprite on the stage. I've got a background image with no transparency, which loads fine. On top of that, I've got the actual slider, which loads the RGB data, and appears to be using the alpha as a 1-bit mask. So anywhere that I have partial transparency, it just shows up as black, where it should be showing the background underneath. I can't find any attribute that will change the way loaded images process alpha transparency.

I have an asset of which is 127 pngs in a sequence for an animation.
I can happily project this onto my papervision plane. Problem is, there is no transparency. I Can't use a BitmapFileMaterial as I have many pngs -
I can currently print one page from a flipbook by typing the page number in a text field and using the actionscript below. What I'd like to be able to do is print a range of pages. Can someone help me modify this script below to allow for a range to be printed?[code]

I am having an issue with the printjob class where it is not printing the jpgs on the screen. it prints everything else, just not the image. Also, it seems to be inconsistent in that I have gotten it to work, but the majority of times it doesn't.

So I step backward and try to simplify it but it is still not working. It's been years since I worked in Flash but I've been asked to give this project a shot so I'm kind of learning to ride the bike again.

I have a sprite that has a scrollbar that uses the scrollrect feature. The sprite has several bitmaps and textfields. When I print the outer sprite (The one with the scrollrect) all of the textfields outside the scrollrect are cut after the first line. In case anyone else is having problems with printing sprites with scrollrects using the bitmap printing option fixes and prints most of the stuff in the sprite. Excluding all textfields outside of the scrollrect. This however can be fixed partially by embedding your fonts.
So now the only problem left is printing multiline textfields that are outside the scrollrect. P.S. Imho the scrollrect should have nothing to do with the printed area of the sprite because the printJob.addPage has a printarea parameter.
I keep trying to place some pngs in an XML file inside flash. The jpgs work fine but when it gets to the pngs nothing shows up. Do you need to have a special Action Script?
View 5 RepliesI've been trying to import 258 PNGs into Flash. It gets up to around 200, +/- 1-2, and anything after that has "Bitmap not loaded" were the thumnail image should be in the library.
My computer is running 64 bit Vista with 4gb of ram.
Has anyone ever encountered this weird, unique error I am gettingWhen I export my program to a SWF all the imported PNGs with alpha transparency (ie; soft edges) render totally wrong - no transparency, very blocky and pixelated. See the attached image for an example;this is out of the blue. Has exported fine recently.
View 1 RepliesI have an artist I'm paying to do animation art for me. I need PNGs for each frame in the animation but she is most comfortable doing her animations in Flash. It sounds like getting the frames for me will be difficult for her. She was able to do the still art we needed and give us that as a frame, but for some reason the animation is different? Keep in mind we need PNGs with full transparency support in the background. We can't be clipping these frames out by hand.

View 2 RepliesWe're working on a project right now where our animator is creating animations in Flash (the tool in which he's most comfortable) which we need to export for our application. He's using separate sprites (for a person, we'd use eyes, mouth, hair, feet, etc.) and transforming them appropriately. So, if his head is rocking back and forth, one frame might be normal, one might be rotated 20°, another normal, and another -20°, and so on.
What we need is to export all of the sprites used in the animation, along with the transform data for each object in each frame. Unfortunately, the animation is being done in Actionscript, which complicates things somewhat, and because we're using sprite components that we use in multiple places, we want each component of the animation exported separately. As long as we can get it into some kind of more easily parse-able format, we should be fine, but we're not familiar enough with Flash, in a technical sense, to know where to start looking. Solutions in Python would be preferred, since that's the language we're all working in.
I'm having an issue with solid backgrounds showing up behing transparent PNGs in Flash. I know this isn't a lot to go on, but I have no idea what is going on here, My client sent me the attached image.. This is what they are seeing (the green box behind the top of the vehicle). I am not seeing this. Apparently this box, and other similar boxes show up during image transitions.
I am using Tweens to fade between different models and colors of the vehicle. I was originally using Caurina/Tweener, and experienced similar issues myself, but since switched to using the built in tween class, and am not seeing any problems anymore, but apparently my client is.You should be able to see the attached image. You can also view the demo link, to see if you see any issues yourself with the PNGs fading in and out....(you'll have to sit through the intro, then click EXPAND on the final frame)
I am trying to print a string with html formatting. Part of the formatting includes font face. I have found that my print job will not print any string that includes a font face declaration. I'm guessing because the font isn't embedded, but I'm not positive.
This works:

How can I get around this. I need the ability to print any font on a users computer.
I have a PSD with about 30 layered transparencies. I exported each individual layer as a PNG 24 with the transparent background in tact. I then made identical layers in Flash just like I had in Photoshop, and imported each PNG to it's corresponding layer at which point I converted the graphic to a movie clip for future scripting animations. Once I got to the 24th layer Flash quit recognizing my transparencies and my first Flash layer masked anything else I brought in from layer 24 on....but the layers above remained OK!! I checked and double checked my Photoshop exports and had several Flash "gurus" check my work. Nobody can figure out what is wrong! Is there a limit to the number of PNG tranparencies allowed on seperate layers in a Flash document?

What's the best way to bring in an image with transparency in Flash CS4?I have a logo in Photoshop that looks great on a black background. But when I bring it in as a GIF or PNG in Flash, the edges get really jagged.Is there a preferred way to import this so the edges are smooth?

View 1 RepliesI'm putting together a flash animation which has 1 png file replicated quite a few times. to be more precise, a snow flake. When they build up on top of each other im getting strange blotches that should not be there.I have a feeling that because of how many times the image is replicated it is struggling (Flash, not my computer), as when there were only half of the flakes it did not do it.

When loading a PNG 8 or PNG 32 with alpha transparancy we're getting the following error reported in Flash:-
"Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type" Now, we're dealing with some legacy images, and it appears as though this problem isn't universal - some images believed to be 32bit alpha PNG are loading. BUT, some conclusions:-
converting one image that was 32 bit alpha (NOT WORKING IN AS3) to PNG 8 index transparency DID work.
And converting that same image to PNG 8 alpha DID NOT work.

I have created an animation using illustrator files in AE CS3 and now want to convert this to flash so it will play on my website.The problem I am having (or rather my web designer) is getting the transparency in flash.
1. How should I export out of AE
2. Do I need to bring the video into Flash and export out of there to get the transparency?
3. Can this workflow even be done?
4. What is the best way for me to deliver the files to my web designer?
I have attached a movie file of the look I am going for. The birds were done in AE and I want them to move across my home page.

Overlay blending mode in flash on trasnaprent, imported images, doesn't work properly! It leaves dimmed black background instead of transparency. Same thing is in CS4 and in CS5. What is even more weird is that in Flash preview stage window everything is fine, and it works, but after publishing the SWF, you can see black background.I looked for workaround that...no success. No one answeres to this question.
-I tried with 24png, 8png, gif with different settings. No success.
-Tried also with After Effects, and then export to SWF, it works surprisingly.
i've a MovieClip and i would like to change the transparency of this movieclip how can i do?
