I'm currently constructing a scrollbar as part of a website using as3 and png images. I've got loaders for each image inside of an array, and when loading on each image finishes, it's added as a child to a sprite on the stage. I've got a background image with no transparency, which loads fine. On top of that, I've got the actual slider, which loads the RGB data, and appears to be using the alpha as a 1-bit mask. So anywhere that I have partial transparency, it just shows up as black, where it should be showing the background underneath. I can't find any attribute that will change the way loaded images process alpha transparency.
Has anyone ever encountered this weird, unique error I am gettingWhen I export my program to a SWF all the imported PNGs with alpha transparency (ie; soft edges) render totally wrong - no transparency, very blocky and pixelated. See the attached image for an example;this is out of the blue. Has exported fine recently.
I am trying to print a movieclip with printjob in flash. This movieclip contains two layers: one with a PNG image with transparency and one below with a jpg image. The problem is that the transparency of the png is not respected so the jpg image does not appear. The code i'm using is real simple: var my_pj:PrintJob = new PrintJob();
when I move the camera around my scene the rendering at certain points is odd. Triangles become missing and it seems as though its just not working correctly. When you move the camera beside the cube, triangles along the side of the cube go missing. Is there a way I can turn the clipping off? Should I use more triangles? Is it a material/render engine/viewport problem?
Long time lurker who can't find an answer thatfits this specific problem. I apologize if it has been answered. In the pic below,notice the edges. They look great on the stage, but I can't get the rendered .swfto look the same.
With CS3, when I entered a movieclip, I could see the other movieclips/stage in the background. But now when I enter a movieclip with CS4, I get the stage color as the background. If I try to test that "scene", the objects are in the top left corner.
It makes positioning from within a movieclip very very difficult.
what I want to do is render some HTML inside my Flash object. My problem is that this isn't just htmlText (for which I could use a textArea object), but text and images. Is there a component / object I can use inside Flash to render this HTML segment on the fly, or would I have to write my own HTML interpreter more-or-less (which I could do, thats just the last resort if I can't find a quicker way to do it)
I am trying to build a portfolio application similar to the used by Whitevoid. I am using Flex 4 and Papervision3D 2. I have everything working except for one issue. When I try to load an external SWF as a material on one of the planes, I can see any native Flex or Flash components in their correct positions, but the papervision objects are not being rendered properly. It looks like the viewport is not being set in the nested swf. I have posted my code for loading the swf below.
private function loadMovie(path:String=""):void { loader = new Loader(); request = new URLRequest(path);
[Code]....
Below I have posted two pictures. The first is a shot of the application running by itself. The second is the application as a MovieMaterial on a Plane. You can see how the button created as a spark object in the mxml stays in the correct position, but papervision sphere (which is rotating) is in the wrong location.
I have a movieclip and I am loading on it an external swf. The mc is just a square box basically...it is set to 69% alpha/transparent in the "Color effect: style: alpha" settings.The problem is, when I load the swf now the swf is also transparent (seems like 69%)...I basically want the mc to be transparent, but the swfs that load w/in it should not be transparent.
example code: mc.createEmptyMovieClip("newClip", this.getNextHighestDepth()); mc.newClip.loadMovie("some.swf");
I have a collection of animated sprites with a brown background and I want to know how to make the brown transparent. Is there some kind of color keying in flash? The brown is #5E4229 by the way.
I've been trying for ages to find out how to do this exactly, but haven't had much luck, I'm trying to build a version of my portfolio site using Flash and Papervision, however, I'm having a little trouble coming up with more sophisticated interaction aside from assigning click events to individual objects.
Say I make a MovieAssetMaterial, and inside that material, I place another movieClip.
How do I target that nested movieClip so I can get it to do something? Is it even possible? From what I've researched I need to be using an "InteractiveSceneManager" but I can't find any references on how exactly to implement one.
var menu = new Menu (); menu.x = 0; menu.y = 0;[code]...........
This works, but transparency varies for each element MovieClip separately, but I would like that would have changed the whole MovieClip transparency as a single image.
i have a set of thumbnails which loads videos from a xml filebut the problem is that when i click on thumbs the video seems to get loaded in front of everything. The swf shows correctly but local dosent'..and the funny thing is that wen i resize the movie in html ,movie loads in front hiding the thumbs.
I have a flash project that's implementing a simple two player game. I have added an enterFrame function to my main movie which listens for keyboard activity in order to move a cowboy gunslinger. Whenever the cowboy moves, I send a message over a socket to a server which dispatches the movement to the other connected client. This works pretty well, however, the movement messages tend to arrive in clumps which results in jumpy animation of my cowboy on my opponents screen and jumpy animation of his cowboy on my screen. To illustrate, i put a trace in my enterFrame function because I am imagining that this function will run roughly once each time my main movie renders the screen. I also put a trace statement in my function that responds to network traffic and moves the remote player's cowboy on my screen. Here's the output:
I keep trying to place some pngs in an XML file inside flash. The jpgs work fine but when it gets to the pngs nothing shows up. Do you need to have a special Action Script?
I have a flash site which draws from an XML file for loading images. The jpgs work fine but nothing shows up when I try to load the PNG files. Does flash not support it?
I'm putting together a flash animation which has 1 png file replicated quite a few times. to be more precise, a snow flake. When they build up on top of each other im getting strange blotches that should not be there.I have a feeling that because of how many times the image is replicated it is struggling (Flash, not my computer), as when there were only half of the flakes it did not do it.
I've been trying to import 258 PNGs into Flash. It gets up to around 200, +/- 1-2, and anything after that has "Bitmap not loaded" were the thumnail image should be in the library.
My computer is running 64 bit Vista with 4gb of ram.
After whittling down of the options we've encountered a problem with PNG's and ActionScript 3 (AS3).
When loading a PNG 8 or PNG 32 with alpha transparancy we're getting the following error reported in Flash:-
"Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type" Now, we're dealing with some legacy images, and it appears as though this problem isn't universal - some images believed to be 32bit alpha PNG are loading. BUT, some conclusions:-
converting one image that was 32 bit alpha (NOT WORKING IN AS3) to PNG 8 index transparency DID work. And converting that same image to PNG 8 alpha DID NOT work.
i have about 70 imgs i brought into the library in Flash CS5. Now the SWF is to big bc there all .png files, i tried to go into properties and change there .png to .jpeg but its a very looooong process, is there any way to highlight them all and either change them but updating the .pngs to .jpeg files ?
I'm using a set of PNGs to run my cu3er slides. They keep the transparency, until the transition and then they're boxed with a white background. Is there a way to either keep it transparent or set the background color? http://205.186.139.193/ is the test site
Javascript:
<script type="text/javascript"> var flashvars = {}; flashvars.xml = "<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory');?>/slider/cu3er.php";
I need to important transparent pngs into my SWF, and have them clickable as buttons. Right now, I'm using JPGs with the loader component, but I'm aware this method does not work with PNGs.
Flash can compress .png files like Photoshop can compress .jpg files better than any other tool hands down. I have 77 .png files that are 1.8 .megs on my c: drive after I imported them and setting the file compression under the "File > Publish Settings" to 75% for jpg and published the .swf with all the .png on the stage the file size is 350K that's about 20% of the original file size of the .pngs downloaded file by file with 77 separate request.
I can create linkage in the shared .swf and test the movie with code in the shared .swf to add the movieclip holders for each: .png to the stage but when I load the shared .swf into the main .swf Flash acts like it can't create the classes based on the Linkage I setup or that the MovieClip linkage doesn't exist.
I tried a test to have the shared .swf with all the .pngs and linked movieclips to add the assets to it's own stage and it works fine but that means a lot of my code and logic is included in the shared .swf that the designers need to add .pngs to. We need to have the main .swf get a handle of the linked .png assets and place them in the main .swf to load the assets to different parts of the main .swf. It's cute that the shared .swf can add the linked assets to it's own stage but not too useful.
Also the way we deploy we cannot roll out a new release/build to update the .pngs but we can upload a new .swf to the asset server so the .pngs need to be in a separate .swf. I can get the shared MovieClip to add the linked assets to it's own stage when testing and when loading my problem is the main .swf that loads the shared .swf cannot create instances of the classes that are exported for runtime sharing using linkage.
