View 4 RepliesMy requirement goes like this.I need to create a venn diagram in flex or action script. I need to create 2 circles. Let's say two circles,circle A and circle B. Both circles should have different color and intersected(A^B). So, finally it should have three colors.circle A, circle B and the intersection part respectively. After that, when I click circle A, only circle A part (excluding intersection part) should be highlighted and remaining should be the same. When I click intersection part, only that intersection part(A^B) should be highlighted and circle A should get the initial color as it was. Similar case with tha circle B. I have done all trail n errors using sprite,bit map and degrafa swc also. But I am not able to meet the exact requirement.
View 2 RepliesI would like to create an interactive diagram and somebody said I should use Flash to do it.
The idea is to create an organisational chart (like the ones you can produce in MS Word 2010). Each position will have its own box or button. When a user clicks on that box or button, a Word document or internet link will be activated and take the user to this other resource.
The reason why I am choosing Flash is because I would like to make alot of these diagrams and they have to go into Moodle. Apparently Flash is the only program I should use to import the diagram into Moodle.

When i create games in other languages e.g. XNA C#, i create a separate class then create an object of that class within the main class and run the game based on a simple statement.

I have a custom class and inside its constructor, I need "x" and "y" arguments passed on. Now when I call the class and create and instance of it, flash should pop up "the code hinting"...(but it doesn't), or am I missing something???
When i put a movieclip on the stage, every time i do that, i have to click on it, press f9 (to show the movieclip actions pannel) and past a code on it... and i will use this movielcip a lot of times in my project, so, everytime i put it on the stage i have to put the code on it again... is there a way to attribute the same code to my movieclip (automatically) everytime i put my mc on the stage?

View 1 RepliesI drew a line, and named it multiLinesHorizontal_mc (It's not on the Stage, but in the Library and exported to ActionScript3). Now I would like to use that multiLinesHorizontal_mc and bring it on stage (25 Horizontal Lines) with space between each row the gap should be 5.
View 9 RepliesI've been playing around with custom classes. My objective was to create a custom class (Testing) that would create a box when an instance of the class is created. I've tried three different approaches, however only (3) seems to be showing up. I'm just curious why (1) or (2) doesn't work?
Also is there a better approach than (3)? Since at the moment it's been created on _root. I hope the box can only be accessible through the instance. Since I'd like to incorporate the whole idea of public, private, encapsulation, etc.

I work as a Flash Developer. There are lines of code I use maybe hundreds of times a day that I have to type out each time. Is there any way to save these custom lines of code to the ActionScript tools library?Or would there be a way to save a custom component that enters the lines of code automatically?

when i thought beeing clever adding the stage. prefix ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property edit_panel_mc not found on flash.display.Stage and there is no default value. The mc's are on the stage... i have a single .as classfile. Why cant I reference them? or how should i do it/ what should i do to change it from beeing .fla script to class script.
I see a lot of tutorials about coding actionscript 3 when they use all the code in a Class.I keep thinking every time why they use it in a class, instead of using actionscript on the stage.why it is more functional to code a class instead of putting code in the stage actionscript?
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to create a flash program that uses it's own code to send and create images. Each square has a colour and that colour gets added into the array. A black, then grey, then white is:
filecode = ["Bl", "Gr", "Wh"];
That works fine, but when I try to paste it into an Input text box it will only fill in the first part of the array.
filecode = ["Bl,Gr,Wh"];
So the program has NO idea what I want.The only ways I can think of fixing this is by putting in 402 text boxes to suit every box...But every one of them needs a Variable Name.Or by sending the information straight into the array. But this way you are just looking at what you just drew, and that is not at ALL practical.

Where in this xml file number of object type of content and image are not same for every page.For every content like to create <TextField> as well as every image like to create <Movieclip> automatically based on every page.After generating the objects in the xml file into the flash scripting.If its more than one page.User can able to view in the format of <NEXT> and <PREVIOUS> button.So this is the scenario.if anyone come across this problem just tell your way of suggestion,snippets or sample peice of code to move ahead further.
Is it possible to use AS3 to create and save a swf file automatically?By this I mean that I have a folder of images (100+ sequential images) which form a full animation sequence. I could import the sequence directly and use the IDE to do it - but I have 100+ folders so that not really an option!
So as a theory, could it be possible to create an app that inputs the parent directory, reads through the folder, imports each image onto its own frame and exports the swf to a designated area?Its possible using php but MING is unreliable and wont precess interlaced jpg file and other swflib functions are quite poor.

Lets say i have a .fla file with all my animations called Kitty.fla, then I have an external .as file called Kitty.as which contains a Kitty class with the itty(attribut i need to give it) function.On the 1st frame on the timeline i have the following:var kitty:Kitty = new Kitty('my attribute');when compiling the movie, flash automatically creates an instance of Kitty but WITHOUT my attribute (its given a default value specified in the code) and then proceeds with the instance according to what i wrote above. So at the end i basically end up with two kitties, one with default attribute and second with the attribute specified by me, while I only need the one with the specified attrribute

View 14 RepliesI am currently trying to create a function (or set of functions) that automatically fades in a button for each cue point in a video the first time a video loads. This way the buttons only become accessible once that point in the video has passed. The buttons should stay active once the video is loaded.
The code below is what I have so far. Essentially all I have managed to do is trace the name of the cuePoint. I believe what I need to do is somehow assign the cue point name to an object, pass that reference to the "fadeIn" function and run the "fadeIn" function.It is worth noting that the buttons I am fading in are already on the timeline, so I do not need to create them in code. I just need to reference them.
