Jun 1, 2010When Flex application make an asynchronus HTTP request, does it add a special header to the request, like some JavaScript framework does? Something that indicates whether this request is an AJAX call/not.I just want my server side code to return different response format, depending on whether the request is made from browser/flex.

Dec 27, 2010In one of our project we are using flex for front end, blazeds/java in the backend. Its an existing code where services are prewritten. I have to make calls to 3 services in the backend (basically 3 remote objects) and get their result and store the result in an object and show the data of this object in a view.
Now in front end we are using Flex and Parsley Framework. I was thinking of the following approaches.
1) Making commands for each service call and storing the result in a shared object (model) and then displaying this model in the view. In this approach the problem is some services are needed in some other web pages, but they donot need the same model. How should i handle this scenario ? Should i make a asynchronous remote call and fetch the result and then again dispatch and event with the event object storing the result.
2) Making a service call , wait for the result then make another call and wait for the result and then make other call, not sure if this is the right way ?

Jul 19, 2011In terms of HTTP request performance should I pick AJAX or Flash? To be more specific, I'm more into Flash than AJAX and I'm currently working on a wide scale web project. I wanted to try AJAX out for once and now it's getting too messy for me. Before it gets more complicated I thought may be I can run Flash on the background for HTTP Requests and use it with javascript. I couldn't find any benchmark on the Internet, but I think AJAX is faster than Flash. So what's your personal experience? Is there too much difference between Flash and AJAX?

microphone. In that case the flash client uses the default microphone with 'Microphone.getMicrophone();' and possibly selects the micrphone of the PC.
A delay between audio and video is caused in cases with a separated webcam and microphone. There isn't a lot of delay on an internal network (e.g. LAN) however, there is a very large delay between audio and video on an external network (e.g. WAN).

After that, flash contact PHP with ajax but request is never sent. When you refresh page, everything is working without any problems.If you remove the application on privacy settings, refresh the page and try again -same bug happens.If you allow application, refresh page, in other tab remove application and start application in previous tab - user is asked for permissions but everything is working after allowing application.This is FBJS code

openPermissions is called to display permission dialog, and on allow flash function allow() is called. In flash, allow() calls JS function ajaxCall(), which should make ajax request. But, ajax.post never sends request. I know that for sure, because flash function parseAjax was never called and also debugging tools in browsers are not showing any ajax requests. URL and parameters are same as when it is working. No flash or JS errors are detected...

However I've been running into some strange bugs recently and I'm wondering, is the instance of "new Object();" the same each time the callback function is run? It needs to be a different, fresh instance of Object each time, but I'm having some garbage collection issues which make me think it's passing the same object each time that event callback is fired,

Flash :: Media Server - Send Video And Audio Data To A Media Server By Using RTMP Protocol
Jul 22, 2010I'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.

i was windering if its possible to use ajax from flash? so the flash game sendds the score/ result to the page and only parts of it change, (developers can even choose to force pause the game for 5 seconds so the user registers/ submits score etc)
and then can continue. now what happens in page changes, then you need to return to the page and wait for flash swf file to load again ...

All of that is well and good, but whenever I click those links, it has to reload the entire page (including the Flash app) when only the bottom part changes. May 31, 2010I'm using AS3 to base64 encode a JPG and pass it to Javascript. I'm attempting to use AJAX to pass that base64 encoded string to PHP and have PHP decode it. (I know I could send it back to Flash and Flash could decode it and send it to PHP, but I'm trying to eliminate the need for Flash on the decoding end).It appears that AS3's encodeToBase64String() function and and PHP's base64_decode() function do not use the same algorithm, as PHP evaluates it as a base64 encoded object, but does not seem to output it properly

Aug 18, 2010I have a coldfusion page that uses JQuery UI TAB to load another coldfufion page which includes a cfchart in flash format. But this works completely fine in FF.(everything was loaded, flash cfchart, tables ...)

However in IE: all of the html elements that are generated with the flash object are loaded, except the flash object and embed tags do not show up at all after running an ajax call in IE.

Flash :: Library That Uses Ajax For File Uploading?
Jan 9, 2012I'm trying to create a sleek and styled button that when clicked allows the user to select a file. When the file has been selected, an event should fire, allowing me to reconstruct the form. Also the file should be uploaded without reloading the page. Preferably events should also be fired for upload progress and completion.
Obviously neither pure HTML or JavaScript can do all this by themselves. I need to let Flash do the uploading. I've been searching around for a nice clean JavaScript library that implements Flash for file uploads and makes the aforementioned events available to the programmer. All I've managed to find are "all-or-nothing" type libraries that does everything for me, giving me little or no freedom. Often the upload interface is also static and in flash.
Are there are professional, clean JavaScript libraries out there that does what I'm after? To reiterate, I'm looking for a JavaScript library that uses Flash only to upload one or more files asynchronously and offer events to keep track of the upload.

Jan 27, 2006Here's the simple steps
1. Enter part number and submit
2. Part number is sent to server
3. Part number is returned from server with a string of results (manfacturer, product location, number of stock, size, image)
4. Flash takes the results and places them in to their apprpriate display text fields and loads the image also.
All this works great EXCEPT when you try a second, third, fourth...time.
I trace all the responses and get new and correct results for every part number I enter, but it simply won't overwrite the previous displayed data. Nothing I try will get rid of the last results!
Media Server :: Fms Live Stream Server Stops Sending Data Around 4+hrs?
Mar 21, 2012My rtmp client connects to the server ok and rtmp data flowing ok for about 4hours, in the wireshark trace I can see that the server just stops sending data roughly after 4hours. The server version is 3.5.1, and I also try it on a 4.0 server the data stops coming from the server as well after 5+hours. There are no errors or any indication of session disconneciton in the diagnostic logs. I have also looked thru the settings in applicaiton.xml and server.xml I just don't see any obviious reason for the issue. I do send rtmp Acknowledgement to server after the client receives "window size" bytes, and the client sends ping response to server.

Dec 17, 2010I made a server connection with AC3 and C, I need the client(AC3) to be able to send a 3 byte message to the server (C) and have the server return a resopnse. So far everything works except for the fact that the feedback isn't fast enough becuase AC3 just tests for data once and moves on instead of waiting like in C. I'm using a binary socket at the moment but I was wondering if there was any way to wait for new data before moving on
