via an SWF file, what request type would "http://url-to-my/json.script" receive. It doesn't seem to be a "xmlhttprequest". Is it the same as a request from a browser?
How would I set about loading an xml data file inside an AS3 application for iphone? Will there be a cross-domain issue for requesting data files from the device?

<allow-http-request-headers-from domain="*" headers="Authorization"/>
And still, the header is not sent (checked with Wireshark).

I am developing a online game with flash mx , MS SQL 2000 and asp. The problem is I send the data using sendAndLoad method to asp file and get data back from asp file. But when the internet connection is not good there is a problem like jam or lost packets. How can I prevent the lost of packets. Some of the data are important. Is there any way to solve this?

developing an e-card system in AC2. The system mainly consists of two flash movies and is supported by PHP scripts and a mysql database for data storage.The first part is the create/edit screen where the users can upload a photo, mask any desired area and apply some simple transformations such as size, rotation, brightness. They can also select a card (an animated flash movie) and preview the animation and finally type a message for the recipient.The other part is the result screen where the finalised card is presented and the user can then email a link to it to other people or grab some code to embed it on another site. Why flash don't display my data query send from a php file that use the $_GET to retrive the information and run a query to display the result back to flash.but when I change the $_GET variable in the php file for a static value let's say (2), flash display the data that was requested in the php query..with $_GET I get in flash undefined with "2".I get in flash the data requested...

When user will fill in his name and age, these data should be sent to some external file. Whats more, when you will fill again the same text areas (name, age) these new data should be also send to external file (the same one or different one - these data should not be overwritten).
*Later i should have access to this external file (when I will open it, I will see all the data that has been sent to it)
I've been unable to send data to a text file. I am making a news poster for a website, but free or any XML, php MySQL or anything else; so is it possible to send data to a .txt file using no other files? is it getLocals or something?

Basically I am trying to forward a download to another URL but at the same time I need to be able to set headers like "filename".
The readfile($file) function will not do it for me, because the the $file is not stored on the same server as the PHP script (not even the same datacenter) Is this even possible ? If not via PHP, maybe FLASH could do this ?
i Need to make sure that the Flash movie stops requesting the XML file once it has it. when a part of the xml is not defined it keeps requesting the xml file. i need it to cycle through but when something is undefined to stop trying to read the xml for the text or picture. so when i leave the home page open too long it kills the browser memory and crashes it.

View 4 RepliesOccasionally I listen to online audio from a variety of sources with no problem. ccasionally when I try to do that I get a message (or a button) to download Flash 8.0.0. I have done that several times. Once the app is installed (as far as I know it is), I may then click on that audio file and up comes that same message/button again to d/l Flash 8.0.0. If I try to find Flash on my system, it is somehow not clear to me what I've found.
Let me try right now and see what comes up (I'll summarize): Using Spotlight my "Top Hit" says "Adobe Flash Player Install Manager." When I open that it gives me choices of Quit or Uninstall, but no version number. And if Flash 8 or later is indeed installed, how do I know where it is? (It may indeed be a plug-in somewhere but?) I also have here and there about 6 or 7 Flash-labeled folders. One for example in Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS4/Samples. One more in my Library/Preferences/Macromedia folder (though I use no Macromedia apps). Now let me check my plug-ins for (latest) Safari: There's a Shockwave Flash. There is this: "Verified Download Plugin from file VerifiedDownloadPlugin.plugin, but no further info. I also have Click to Flash 1.5.5.

I have a flash form that sends a monthly report that users fill out to a php file, which sends it to a MS SQL database. This issue I am having is that anything larger then 1300 characters entered into the flash form will not work at all. If I reduce the amount of text to 1300 characters or less, it will send it to the php and database just fine. My research shows that a flash variable should be able to handle 65,000 characters, and when I trace my output from flash to php, all of the data is being traced. however, it is not being send to php. I am using LoadVars to send the data with _GET. So is this a php issue, or a flash issue? I ran a php info page and my max_post is set to 10M that should be enough to handle this load. I am not sure why it is not working with anything larger then 1300 characters. Below is my code for my php and flash files.
The variables that are affected by this are the testEvlauation, projects, support, and programManagement variables. I need them to send at least 8000 characters a peice to the php file.
