I keep getting this warning in css: Type 'AutoComplete' in CSS selector 'AutoComplete' must be qualified with a namespace. I can't seem to get it fixed.
View 2 RepliesI am attempting to style the headers in a flex datagrid and I keep getting the warning:
Type DataGrid in CSS selector 'DataGrid' must be qualified with a namespace
What does this mean? I have gone through a bunch of tutorials and none of them have worked. It seems like changing a the colors in a datagrid should be relatively simple.

For some reason Flash Builder 4 doesn't autocomplete any more for new projects I create (either pure Actionscript or Flash Pro projects). But for previous projects it still works fine.For instance when I go to create a new actionscript class, when I click browse next to Superclass there are only TWO classes that come up. EventDispatcher & Sprite. Where have the rest of the classes gone?
When I try to type inside the class.. ie var mc:MovieClip... as I'm typing MovieClip nothing comes up any more.. pushing ctrl+space doesn't bring up a list of classes either. Importing classes, no code hinting comes up at all.I haven't changed anything in Flash Builder between now and when my previous projects were created.
I'm using jQuery Autocomplete just as in this example: [URL] The problem is, the area where you see the Result box in that example - that's where my flash object is. So, when the autocomplete dropdown appears, most of the text is concealed by the flash object (which I can't move). How can I make the autocomplete text appear over the flash object (concealing its view rather than vice versa)?
View 4 RepliesI am being very hard headed and determined that I am going to give Textmate a solid try for my actionscript and flex projects. Work on the bundle has been a little lacking but what has been developed so far is pretty great. I have run into some slight issues but able to figure them out and get things set up pretty well and I have already dug in and started customizing the snippets to suit my needs.
One thing that I have not been able to fix, figure out or find a straight answer for is regarding working with MXML files. AutoComplete for Actionscript files seems to work great but I don't seem to get the same result when I am editing Actionscript inside the script block in a MXML file.
Is it possible to get auto completion for flash libraries in flash builder 4.0?

View 7 RepliesI am using the AutoComplete component in my Flex website. Everything is fine, but there is one issue. If I type something in the text area, and the items that are searched are alot, i want to increase the height of the dropdown box.
Below is the code to my autocomplete

I seem to have is that the Autocomplete component that seems to be part of flex extras is not displaying the list of items in the dropdown list. Basically, I get a list of blank items. I know they are there and they are the right items because as soon as I click on one, I get the right text in the combobox.
my Code in the mxml looks something like this

Again, when I type "T" in the text box I see a dropdown list with 3 empty items. Clicking on the third item puts "Test3" in the textbox. But the items themselves are not visible.
It almost as if its a font/foreground color thing, but I've played around with some of those settings too with no success.
I'm building a somewhat large Flex project that includes several modules (a single Flex project that produces multiple SWFs)
Right now, I have a single css file, being loaded in the main SWF tag:

And repeat for Button, TextArea, etc etc. I have so many useless warnings, it is impossible to see if there are any valid ones.
Is this warning caused by something I'm doing wrong? The styles are all being applied correctly and appears to work just the way I want at runtime.
NOTE: I've tried the -show-unused-type-selector-warnings=false compiler flag, and it does not work...that's for a similar but different warning.
I may be mistaken, but it appears that Facebook only supports friend-selector dialogs within a request/invite form. I take that to mean that since our app is just allowing the user to arrange a subset of friends for display within the app (no message to the friend), we must use something that isn't available from Facebook. It would be nice to know if I'm wrong, but important to have some clear pointers on how to get a friend ID back from the dialog without an invite or request getting sent to the friend.
I've searched for solutions and the closest I've come is a description of something that implements what I want offered for license by Mike Knoop. I've tried making contact, but still don't know whether the code (or license terms) will work. It would be really nice to have a solution that was more open, but any pointers to widgets/libraries that include this capability

View 2 RepliesI'm creating an XML driven language selector which places the current language's flag (depending on the user's locale which is passed through a Flash Var parameter) at the top of the list. I've got all this working so far BUT i'm having trouble with the results. I want to be able to add onRollOver and onRelease functions to the newly created movieclips but it just ain't happening! The onRollOver function would be a bit of movement for each flag and the onRelease would call getURL using the url for that language which is contained in the XML file.

I have to build an Adobe AIR application with the Namespace 2.6. The problem is, I recently downloaded Flash Builder 4.6 onto a new computer, and it requires the Namespace to be 3.1. Otherwise, it throws an error. The only solutions I can find online are to change the Namespace in the app.xml file to 3.1. This however causes issues later on when I try to Code-sign the application.The easiest fix would be to make Flash Builder build the application with Namespace 2.6.

Word to the Flash Genies-- Heres my wish that hopefully someone else is struggling with an enormously mind-boggling bug in flash cs3-- when I try to create a public class that extends any of the native flash display objects, and I put this in its own package, even after specifically importing the specific class OR the package wildcard .* the fla that I'm compiling returns error 1017-- Base Class Definition not found. The fla is set to the correct classpath. This situation slipped from 'minor annoyance' to 'mind boggling' after I moved the directory to a different pc with cs3, reset the local classpath and it compiled perfectly. So then I moved the directory to a mac, running flex builder, and made a tester file to use the class, which compiled perfectly.
For some wierd reason, this particular computer cannot compile, even though nothing had changed in the actual class. Maybe it is important to note that this machine is running Vista (and perhaps should not be!)? Maybe it is important to note that the package is part of an SVN directory? Maybe it is important to note that after re-saving the same class file, changing only the class name (from BitmapSprite to BSprite) enabled it to compile on this machine, even though both the mac and other pc (running windows XP) could compile the class as BitmapSprite. I'm not sure if the name change or just re-saving allowed it to compile--but maybe it's significant that the new named instance was not committed to svn.

im making an application that swaps out rims and tires on cars, there is a car selector screen as well car selection.swf ----> car mod.swf ---> car selection.swf you can go back and forth between the different cars, swapping rims... so ... here is where I'm at so far with what I'm doing. calling in a new swf file, and it pops overtop of the one im using... all the false hidden stuff, seems to stay in memory, i need to wipe it clean, so m animation is still smooth.. code :

View 1 RepliesI have put a drawing board on my application, but I cannot figure out how to get a colour selector..? Another problem with this, is that when the page is selected I can draw out of the board, and also when I navigate to another page I can continue to draw on other pages (not good!)...
