I have made a flash banner in flash cs4. Everything is ok except that it displays the wrong font when viewing the webpage in ie7 on a pc. The font in the swf file is a mac only font but the text that it is displaying is a graphic symbol. Do i need to embed this font in the swf file?

I have a full screen flash movie that loads and displays correctly in firefox and chrome. In IE, however, it displays at 1/3 the width. The embedded code is relatively simple:

IE respects the height, but I would really like to use 100% height. What could I be doing wrong?

View 1 RepliesI'm working on a Flash presentation, and I have a lot of text pages with buttons and movie clips on. The problem I have is that all subheads are set to size 35pt using Helvetica Neue Heavy, but on a couple of the pages a random subhead is displaying a lot larger than 35pt (I'd say 50pt) but it is definitely set to size 35pt in the Character palette. I have no idea why this is happening and it's driving me mad.

Im using word 2003 & adobe CS3 .i need to load xml file in Flash .
I created a flash file on my PC and exported it. When I view it online with my PC, it looks perfect...but when I look at it on a MAC, the font type is different than what it should be. I tryed different browsers on the MAC and it still displays the wrong font.

The loading screen in the beginning is supposed to use a special font that I've downloaded. I can see this font on my system when I test the live site online on my system, but when I get on other systems (which don't have the font on their system) it displays a default font, usually Times New Roman or the like.
I'm just wondering if there is a way to embed the font somehow so it uses the font I've chosen for it to use.
I've been trying to simply embed a single font in my .swf webpage-- not with actionscript, just as a library symbol, using cs4-- the directions I've seen are pretty straightforward, but for some reason it's not displaying correctly on computers other than my own. I wonder if I've got the URL correct: should it just be "myFile.swf"?

I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.

In my application I'm using a custom embedded font for English (Helvetica New) which does not contain characters (glyphs) for chinese unicode range. In the application, wherver chinese characters are avaiable they are not displayed (suppressed) since they are missing in the custom embedded font. How can I make the flash player to use a fallback system font for the missing characters? And the fallback should be for the missing characters alone. For the Engligh characters it should use the embedded font.

I have a swf A, which contains no font.If I download into it the swf F1, which contains few characters of Arial, then I'll have the arial font embed into A, no problem with that.But if, then, I download the swf F2, which contains other characters of Arial into swf A, will I be able to use all the embed characters font, only the F2, or only the F1 ?I'd like to have a link to somewhere where this is explained, even in very technical terms : I wasn't able to find one.
EDIT : After few tests, it seems that the player replace the loaded font... How can I merge them, then ?
I have a flash file which I have created, and when viewing the flash in a web page, it works fine in chrome/firefox, but in IE, the flash will only load correctly once. If you hit refresh, or navigate to another page and then go back to the page with the flash on it, the flash will freeze up at 0% of the load bar. This happens 100% everytime, but only in IE. Zero problems in other browsers.
View 15 RepliesI had that 'Access denied' error message whenever I tried to access help within Flash CS5 (that's pretty bad). I searched for far too long and found the obscure solution.
During the process I decided it might be safer to access the online help from my browser in the meantime. But with the problem solved I want to switch back to viewing the content through the Flash IDE.
I can't find those preference settings again though
I will often copy/paste my code into a txt document to review at work(no flash at work). Has anyone made any application to paste text into which will auto high lite blue and/or auto format text as if you were in flash? that would be so useful.

In other words, can embedded fonts be aliased?Using the bitmap-text option doesn't work, Flash tends to screw up a lot of the character spacing. I haven't found any pixel fonts that mimic Arial, Verdana and Tahoma accurately. Setting the stage quality to low does alias the fonts but they become fragmented.Using device fonts is an option but, as far as I understand, some browsers/operating systems will take it upon themselves to anti-alias the text.
View 6 RepliesI create a movie on imovie. I take it to Flash(CS3) and publish it as an swf file I then install that file in Dreamweaver. All is good I save and preview it locally. the file's root folder is images and same remotely I upload all including the HTML page and when I view the page, the place where the file is is blank.
I have uploaded this many times and it just wont work.
I want my flash website to be viewable on iPhones but Apple does not support Flash websites on iPhones. I have heard of people just making a html version of the website or using Smoke, but I heard iPhone users do not really want to download a third party plugin to view Flash content on their iPhones.
Are there any other options that do not require you to redevelop the Flash website, like into HTML versions for example and if developing into HTML is the only option, how should you build the HTML version of the Flash website?
I'm looking to create something within Flash that I've not yet seen done.It will be a shared, real-time interactive session. What I want to know is, is it possible to create an individual, private session within Flash that is synchronized between two or more computers? I am doing this for the medical profession, but I can also see this would have benefits in the gaming community as well. I'm trying to create something that two specific users can interactively share in real time.
For example,a coloring book.Two players,or as many as you want, log in together and share a private coloring session. They will be able to interactively see anything that the other person is coloring in real time.The other people would also be able to color and let everyone else see their work.

Inside it , i have placed two different image slideshows. The problem is only one loader components object is viewable , the other one is blank. (when i press ctrl+enter )is there a rule to use only single loader component in a page.Is there any solution to view two objects of loader component.

View 1 RepliesI converted a .swf file into .fla file using Sothink SWF Decompiler. I can open the file with Adobe Flash Professional CS5, but I cant see the source code. The only thing that I see is the timeline layers. I want to change the background picture of the Flash and save it as .swf.
