i have created my first flash file at home and i have published it and imported it into dreamweaver, i try to preview it into a browesr and i get the error massage Adobe® Flash® Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. The following local application on your computer or network: /Users/greenjacket1985/Desktop/Cerberus Web Design/Scripts/expressInstall.swf
is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location: [URL] To let this application communicate with the Internet, click Settings. You must restart this application after changing your settings. now i ave tried everything, every button in the settings.

I am using swfAddress 2.4 for browser navigation and everything (back and forth button in the browser) works fine as long as I stay in my flash website, but when I use back button eventually to go out of the website and then use the forth button to come back , it just takes me to the home page of my website, instead of the last page I was in my website before I hit the back button. it looks like I loose the history of my pages as soon as I go out of my flash application.
how can I make the browser navigation with swfAddress works when I go out of my flash application and want to comeback to that? and still have the history of my pages.

In my rails controller, I have a show and save action. The show is for showing the flash application. The save is for saving the flash application. When the flash application calls the rails save action I would like it to redirect to a new view in the rails app and no longer be inside the flash application.I have a redirect_to some_path in the save action. The server log shows a successful redirect to some_path, however, for the user there is no redirect and they are still stuck inside the flash application.

Can Flash be used as the GUI for an application (desktop software, not web based) written for the .NET framework? I want to author an application that would be perfect for flash as a the GUI, but it would need to be able to support a pretty full API for Flash and the wrapper application, written in c#, as they would be passing a lot of data between eachother, as well as getting and sending data over the web. So, can Flash be used in .NET? What kind of API does it have? Or am I stuck with the Windows look/feek

After updating to the latest version of Flash (10.2.152.26), our web application began crashing. The application is written using Flex.I'm using Windows 7 (32-bit), but it has crashed on Windows Vista (32-bit) as well. It crashes on IE8, Firefox 3.6, and Chrome 9.However, it does not crash when using the debug version of the Flash Player.I've tried enabling and disabling the hardware acceleration. I've also updated my video drivers to the latest version.The Event Viewer shows the following when IE crashes:

I'm doing an app for the next st valentin's day and I'm using the Facebook API. The idea is that the user will be able to take a picture with it's own webcam and then edit that photo for to send it to a friend from facebook. But I can't find a tutorial about to edit an image (a bitmap) in the application. Can you tell me how can I do it? I want to edit the bitmap on the same app, like add a frame around the picture and maybe add a message too.

I have an application developed in Falsh (EXE) that is to be distributed on CD-Rom and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on protecting the application from copying.Is there a way within the dev environment I can "stamp" it to prevent copying, or another technique?I don't mean using getDate(), getMonth(), getFullYear(), etc.I have used this to create an expiry date on versions that are being distributed, which then shows an out of date message (which can be easily worked around with the system clock unfortunately).But I wish to protect the disk from being copied, and wondered if there was any techniques from within Flash to do so.Glass mastering and watermarking is not viable as it'll only be a very small duplication run (10, maybe 20 disks).Alternatively, are there any stable utilities that anyone has used (and recommends), prior to me investigating available commercial copy protection software?

I just finished porting my AIR application to Flash.It works perfectly fine when I debug it via Flash Builder or when I load the enclosing HTML file in a browser that uses a debugging enabled version of Flash. However, it stops working when I load it a non-debug version of Flash. The "failure" seems to occur when the app tries to send a SOAP message request to our API server. That whole SOAP layer was generated using Flash Builder's Web Services class generation tools.
According to [URL], getStackTrace() is known to cause problems, so I disabled my calls to it but the problem still occurrs.

want to know if it is possible to create a vector basedfile (PDF) from a web based Flash application. The applicationwould be a 'Design it yourself' type deal, it would just be a fancytext generator. All this will be designed by the user using theflash application . What I want to know is once the user has finished designingtheir text, can this 'creation' then be exported as preferably aPDF, or Jpg, etc. once the user submits the design?

A while ago, I created a replacement shell to run as a front end for a cybercafe. It was nothing fancy; just a flash movie that had button links to IE and a few trusted applications.
I'm trying to develop it further now and am wondering two things:
1. Is it possible to send an application to a frame within a movie? For example, have a static movie at the top with links, then when a button is pressed, the menu remains but the application opens below without overlapping. I know I can use HTML and frames but really want to keep it all in one movie/swf.
2. Is it possible to build on the above and have some sort of application lister that will allow you to switch between the two applications you have running. For example, a user may open IE, then open Word. Word has now replaced IE and I want the user to have a simple click button to go back to an existing window rather than open another instance from the menu.

I have flex applet which captures microphone and plays back remote contact's voice. This application is running fine in browser or in standalone pages, but when this application is loaded in a flash application, no sound nor microphone capture. I have logs in this application, network invocations are working fine with my remote rtmp server application.
I remember I had an issue with allowScriptAccess which needed to be set to always instead of sameDomain on the web page where the main flash application was loaded, but here, this parameter seems to be set.

my organization is in the process of building a touchscreen interactive kiosk. We've designed a flash application to run on the kiosk to display information about our business, our publications, etc. We'd also like to be able to access our website through the flash application. We're having trouble figuring out how to do that effectively. The best we can do is to have the application launch Internet Explorer in a seperate window. This isn't so bad if we run IE in kiosk mode, however it becomes difficult/impossible to navigate back to the flash application (or to close the browser) without a mouse and keyboard (which users won't have access to).Wondering if there's a way to open or access a browser inside of the actual flash application, so users can access the flash menu, home buttons, etc and easily navigate back to the information contained in the rest of the flash application.

Now I know I'm not the only one seeking the ability to write a snazzy little Flash Application for SIP access. I am, however, the only one willing to start a neat little open source project to help, people like me, use SIP to its full potential.
So here it goes, I'd like (and hope) to write a SIP client for two projects. The first is a for-profit endeavor for the company I work for, and the second is a not-really-for-profit webservice I own that would have its customers benefit from on-site VoIP call. Since they both require the same thing, I'm willing to open it up as an open source project to allow it to continue growing.

SinceSilverlight has few drawbacks like we can get Clipboard IMAGE data using silverlight application(however we can access Clipboard TEXT data from Silverlight), but this is not an issue with flash. We can access to clipboard image as well as text data using flash.

I'm new to Flex and want to learn about how to implement client-side caching for data that is repeatedly requested from the server.
Let's focus on a simple example to discuss caching. Take a Flex application having several screens, where each screen plots a line series (of x and y data). The user can switch between the screens, and each time a screen is visited or re-visited, numerical arrays for both x and y data are requested from the server. The values of the x and y data on the server, of course, never change.
I want to learn what techniques are available that could be used to implement caching in the browser or AIR application such that once the x and y data is downloaded the first time, the application pulls these arrays from cache when re-visiting this screen in the future.

I created a photo gallery using flash and I can't get it to work on my web page.I am using Flash CS5 and Dreamweaver CS3.If I just open the html file (the one Flash created when I published it) it works just fine but, when I put the Flash video on the page I created in Dreamweaver, it plays, but without the images.

I'm an application developer, and my standard usage of Flash is as follows: I'm creating an executable application, which contains a ShockwaveFlash object instance, which in turn is displaying a Flash Movie Clip - also created by myself. The executable application and the contained Flash clip are communicating via the ActionScript ExternalInterface (using XML strings) and the FSCommand.
I'd like to be able to debug the ActionScript code of the Flash file while I'm running/debugging my executable application. For that, I need to be able to start a remote debugging session from the Flash object running inside my executable. Problem is, I did not find any way of doing this.
When I publish the Flash SWF file with "permit debugging" checked, I'm able to start a remote debugging session when I'm displaying the file in a player or a browser (the "debugging" option is shown at the right-click menu of the Flash object), but I'm not able to do the same with the object inside my executable (the "debugging" option doesn't exist on the menu).
Environment Details: The executable application is using the ShockwaveFlash COM file to create the ShockwaveFlash object. The executable application is created using VB.NET, Visual Studio 2008, .NET 3.5. The Flash SWF file is created using Adobe Flash Professional CS4. I'm developing under Windows XP (SP3).

When I save a .fla on my macbook (snow leopard OS) the main Flash CS4 application toolbar (the one with the minimize, maximize, hide buttons on it) disappears after the save dialogue has gone.To get it back I have to re-launch the app.I have checked for software updates but nothing seems to be addressing this issue.
