View 4 Repliesdo I have to necessarily have a application container as the root node in my mxml file?econd, I was reading this document on adobe's website and it says that the spark application container has no scroll bars by default and they can be added by using a custom skin. (Look at the table comparing the mx and spark application containers). But my problem is that my application container already has scroll bars by default and I want to get rid of them. I have a main application container with a custom child component that already has scroll bars. I just want the child to have the scroll bars and not the main application

View 1 RepliesThe company i am working for are designing an interactive flash movie that requires the Right click Menu to be entirely disable, or else the right click option to be disabled. The best that we can achieve at present is to limit the context menu to "About..." and "Settings".
Is there anyway of disabling the right click function in flash so we can secure our movie?
Our problem arises from the User being able to click on the "About..." menu item and launching a browser. We require that the user is not allowed to access this. We have tried to change the Default Browser in Windows to a custom browser, but to no joy.
Is there anyway for us to disable the Flash Menu, or, Disable the Right click function completely or, re-route the About Menu item to a default browser so we can prohibit the user from access the default webpage?

View 3 RepliesI have a full screen flex application and I want the user to be able to scroll using browser scrollbars. I don't need mousewheel in the flex application and flex appears to block mousewheel events within itself. So mousewheel events do nothing.
View 2 Repliesthis is insanely annoying problem: AS3 full screen application based on ADOBE FLEX 4, text field. User types something in text field, and then starts clicking backspace many many times to remove what he just wrote, and for some reason, instead of removing characters from text field it tells browser to GO BACK and user navigates away.
View 2 RepliesI'm developing an application using the Google Maps API with Adobe Flex Builder 3. Wrote the "HelloWorld" code provided by the GoogleMaps Reference...
[Code]...
everything goes well but the application consist on a cartesian plane that, optionally, could have the GoogleMap displayed on the background. The point is that I don't know how to hide the map once it is loaded. I would like to load it only if I click on a checkbox
I came here after searching over the GoogleMaps Reference for some "enable/disable map" function, but I had no luck.
How can I disable the browser's minimize button when launching my flex application?

View 3 RepliesCan Flash be used as the GUI for an application (desktop software, not web based) written for the .NET framework? I want to author an application that would be perfect for flash as a the GUI, but it would need to be able to support a pretty full API for Flash and the wrapper application, written in c#, as they would be passing a lot of data between eachother, as well as getting and sending data over the web. So, can Flash be used in .NET? What kind of API does it have? Or am I stuck with the Windows look/feek
View 1 Repliesi have created my first flash file at home and i have published it and imported it into dreamweaver, i try to preview it into a browesr and i get the error massage Adobe® Flash® Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. View 3 RepliesAfter updating to the latest version of Flash (10.2.152.26), our web application began crashing. The application is written using Flex.I'm using Windows 7 (32-bit), but it has crashed on Windows Vista (32-bit) as well. It crashes on IE8, Firefox 3.6, and Chrome 9.However, it does not crash when using the debug version of the Flash Player.I've tried enabling and disabling the hardware acceleration. I've also updated my video drivers to the latest version. The Event Viewer shows the following when IE crashes:

I'm doing an app for the next st valentin's day and I'm using the Facebook API. The idea is that the user will be able to take a picture with it's own webcam and then edit that photo for to send it to a friend from facebook. But I can't find a tutorial about to edit an image (a bitmap) in the application. Can you tell me how can I do it? I want to edit the bitmap on the same app, like add a frame around the picture and maybe add a message too.
View 4 RepliesI have an application developed in Falsh (EXE) that is to be distributed on CD-Rom and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on protecting the application from copying. Is there a way within the dev environment I can "stamp" it to prevent copying, or another technique?I don't mean using getDate(), getMonth(), getFullYear(), etc.I have used this to create an expiry date on versions that are being distributed, which then shows an out of date message (which can be easily worked around with the system clock unfortunately). But I wish to protect the disk from being copied, and wondered if there was any techniques from within Flash to do so.Glass mastering and watermarking is not viable as it'll only be a very small duplication run (10, maybe 20 disks).Alternatively, are there any stable utilities that anyone has used (and recommends), prior to me investigating available commercial copy protection software?
View 2 RepliesI just finished porting my AIR application to Flash. It works perfectly fine when I debug it via Flash Builder or when I load the enclosing HTML file in a browser that uses a debugging enabled version of Flash. However, it stops working when I load it a non-debug version of Flash. The "failure" seems to occur when the app tries to send a SOAP message request to our API server. That whole SOAP layer was generated using Flash Builder's Web Services class generation tools.
According to [URL], getStackTrace() is known to cause problems, so I disabled my calls to it but the problem still occurrs.
i have been having recurring crashes, Windows Applications Event View log indicating that Flash exe failed, see below:

want to know if it is possible to create a vector basedfile (PDF) from a web based Flash application. The applicationwould be a 'Design it yourself' type deal, it would just be a fancytext generator. All this will be designed by the user using theflash application . What I want to know is once the user has finished designingtheir text, can this 'creation' then be exported as preferably aPDF, or Jpg, etc. once the user submits the design?
View 6 RepliesA while ago, I created a replacement shell to run as a front end for a cybercafe. It was nothing fancy; just a flash movie that had button links to IE and a few trusted applications.
I'm trying to develop it further now and am wondering two things:
1. Is it possible to send an application to a frame within a movie? For example, have a static movie at the top with links, then when a button is pressed, the menu remains but the application opens below without overlapping. I know I can use HTML and frames but really want to keep it all in one movie/swf.
2. Is it possible to build on the above and have some sort of application lister that will allow you to switch between the two applications you have running. For example, a user may open IE, then open Word. Word has now replaced IE and I want the user to have a simple click button to go back to an existing window rather than open another instance from the menu.
I was surprised to see the following message when opening a flash CS3 fla in CS5
<<
Slides and Forms documents are not supported in this version of Flash. open in a previous version.
>>
Is there any known work around to be able to maintain a Forms flash project in CS5?
How long will CS3 or CS4 be supported?
I have flex applet which captures microphone and plays back remote contact's voice. This application is running fine in browser or in standalone pages, but when this application is loaded in a flash application, no sound nor microphone capture. I have logs in this application, network invocations are working fine with my remote rtmp server application.
I remember I had an issue with allowScriptAccess which needed to be set to always instead of sameDomain on the web page where the main flash application was loaded, but here, this parameter seems to be set.
is possible to somehow save the state of a flash application so it is able to resume where it left off after being closed. For example, is it possible for a user to save games in an iPhone game written in Flash

View 2 Repliesmy organization is in the process of building a touchscreen interactive kiosk. We've designed a flash application to run on the kiosk to display information about our business, our publications, etc. We'd also like to be able to access our website through the flash application. We're having trouble figuring out how to do that effectively. The best we can do is to have the application launch Internet Explorer in a seperate window. This isn't so bad if we run IE in kiosk mode, however it becomes difficult/impossible to navigate back to the flash application (or to close the browser) without a mouse and keyboard (which users won't have access to).Wondering if there's a way to open or access a browser inside of the actual flash application, so users can access the flash menu, home buttons, etc and easily navigate back to the information contained in the rest of the flash application.
View 2 RepliesNow I know I'm not the only one seeking the ability to write a snazzy little Flash Application for SIP access. I am, however, the only one willing to start a neat little open source project to help, people like me, use SIP to its full potential.
So here it goes, I'd like (and hope) to write a SIP client for two projects. The first is a for-profit endeavor for the company I work for, and the second is a not-really-for-profit webservice I own that would have its customers benefit from on-site VoIP call. Since they both require the same thing, I'm willing to open it up as an open source project to allow it to continue growing.

I have a flash application. One of the options is to copy a pdf onto the users desktop, but I can not seem to get it to work. I am writing a flash application that sends "fscommands" out to batch files. This is what my batch file looks like:---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------@ echo off copy ../Application/pdf/Ebook.pdf %userprofile%Desktop exit---------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------My intent is to copy the specified file to the user's desktop. So far it does not function.
View 1 RepliesI am ASP.NET developer & wright now I am working on Silverlight project. SinceSilverlight has few drawbacks like we can get Clipboard IMAGE data using silverlight application(however we can access Clipboard TEXT data from Silverlight), but this is not an issue with flash. We can access to clipboard image as well as text data using flash.
