Oct 29, 2010Is there any way to disable the "Download This Video" button from RealPlayer. It seems that when users have RealPlayer installed on their machines, it automatically adds a "Download This Video" button to any SWF that loads an FLV.
Edit: My intention isn't to prevent someone from downloading the SWF or FLV, I would just like to remove the ugly button that RealPlayer adds on top of my Flash content.

Mar 22, 2011I've got a strange situation; when I run a Flex app from Eclipse (i.e. click run as web app), my remote calls always hang. In Firefox, they return as failed. But when I open up a browser and browse to my .html file in the bin-debug folder, the remote calls work.

Nov 8, 2011I'm developing a Application in Flash Builder 4.5 to control an server application, also not a classical Website. All is Spark and I set the minHeight and minWidth-Properties for the , because i have an Image and Navigators, and there becomes a strange effect, when the browserwindow is sliding smaller that the min-Properties.The content and there scrollbars are already controlled over the parent containers, thats not the probelm.
Summary: What i expect from a upToDate-Application is:When the Browserwindow is larger than the min-Properties, but too small for the content, the Application respectively the container should control the scroll bars.If is the Browser-Window smaller than the min-Properties, i expecting scollbars from the browser. I think, in this case, the html-wrapper needs knowledge about the min-properties.
Javascript :: Disable IE9 Browser Caching?
Oct 3, 2011I have a Flash application that sends a getURL request for an image file every 60 seconds.
This works fine in all browsers except IE9 with Internet Option set to automatically check for newer versions of stored pages. I setup Charles proxy (http://xk72.com) to watch the requests being sent by my flash app and confirmed that the request is being surpressed by IE9 when the setting is set to Auto, but works fine if I change the setting to check everytime I visit the webpage. This, however, is not an option! I need this to work in all browsers regardless of how the options are set.
Even if I do a page refresh (F5), the ASP page does not reload. The only way to get it to reload is close the browser and restart it.
I have tried adding content headers to disable caching but it does not appear to work.

I have read the Microsoft blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2010/07/14/caching-improvements-in-internet-explorer-9.aspx) which states that if I add the content headers, the browser should respect my request, but it obviously does not.
I don't think this is a Flash issue since the html page that holds the Flash object will not even reload.

Sep 20, 2011this is insanely annoying problem: AS3 full screen application based on ADOBE FLEX 4, text field. User types something in text field, and then starts clicking backspace many many times to remove what he just wrote, and for some reason, instead of removing characters from text field it tells browser to GO BACK and user navigates away.

May 18, 2010I have setup a Flash viewer in a HTML Div container. In the Flash I have put a button which, when clicked, launches a new browser window with another site I've done to appear in. When I test this in Flash its working fine and launches the new window as it should. But when I go into Dreamweaver where I have placed the Swf. in the Div container, I test it locally in a Firefox browser window. The viewer appears and it works correctly, but when I click the button to launch the new browser window it just opens a window with an error msg 'unable to connect, etc'.

Mar 31, 2010I have a flash element on my page that you interact with by using the middle mouse scroll wheel. The page is long. So when scrolling with the mouse wheel it interacts with the Flash element AND scrolls the browser window.

Jun 4, 2009I am using AS3 on a website. Part of the AS has been setup by an external source and I ma now updating and adapting it. My knowledge of AS is limited but slowly expanding.
Currently the site is a main flash file with all the content delivered via a main.as file and then populated via images and videos held in folders on the web.
In one section we have an email link.
I was using Email[url]... and it worked fine. It launched the email program and put the email address in ready to go.
When I added the subject element as below[url]...
it now does what it should with the email program but it also opens a blank webpage.
What can I do to get rid of the blank web page opening?

Mar 15, 2010I have a large module written in JS which uses Canvas to draw and animate trees. This module was written for a product which is now being migrated to flex.
Is there a way in flex to embed this JS module as is? Or would I have to rewrite the whole module in AS3 (shudder)? Further, if embedding is possible, would user interactions (mouse clicks) etc. work seamlessly?
