From a Flash object, I would like to be able to detect the presence of a webcam that the user might grant access to, without actually asking the user whether they want to grant access. This is to streamline a large application that has extra features if a webcam exists — if there is a webcam, the application will present several dialogs that lead up to the normal cam-security prompt, but if the user doesn't have the hardware, I want to skip over them altogether. Requesting access to the cam before those dialogs won't make sense to the user.
It appears not to be possible to call Camera.getCamera() without the security prompt happening. Is there a workaround? (For instance, could I, perhaps, call getCamera in a hidden Flash object and inspect its return value, or does it block until the user acknowledges the security prompt?)
Usually Adobe Flash applications can access any usb-webcam.I have a USB camera for microscopes which understands TWAIN and DirectShow.Is there a possibility to access the video data from this camera with flash?
I created a script that will rotate a different ad every day, based on a comparison of the current date & the ads assigned day. The bug in the script is that the number of ads vs the number of days may be odd, so the last one or two ads will miss a (days) rotation every month. Is there a way I can get this to work so every ad hits its rotation.

I have proper code to make objects rotate on an axis adjacent to the mouse. I also have proper code on how to make objects elastically bounce towards a specific x,y coordinate.
So far the code I have is for the object to follow the mouse when clicked. when the mouse is up, the objects (on a rotational axis) wind back to original position.
What I would like to do, is combine the formulas for rotation with the elastic formulas to bounce these objects back into place with rotational movement.
I am capturing camera on flex for android using air 3.1,and found that the camera is only showing the a part of of actual camera video.When i view camera using normal camera application in android galaxy tab, it shows full camera area but when i am capturing the camera in flex its showing only the center area for it.I tried using setMode to set the resolution, but its not of any use.Is there any way to get full camera area captured inside flex using camera.getCamera ?
I have a video capture device on a machine. I have written a windows application to capture the video from this device. While capturing, if i try to broadcast using flash it does not connect. If i'm already broadcasting and then try to capture then my windows application does not get the capture pin of the device. So, flash seems to be taking the capture pin. Is there anyway to broadcast using the preview pin on the device so that i can capture using my application. Or is there way where i can split the capture pin and give one to my app and one to the broadcaster
I've got some MC's in my library that have radiobuttons in them -- all of this created at design time -- and pull them onto the stage dynamically. My question is how do I get the selectedData from the group? The setup is like this: In a MC called pageOne, I have a group of buttons with a group name of Q1, Q2, etc. I pull the MC onto the stage like this:

I am having some dificulty making a path for this enemy i'm trying to create... cause i want him to rotate + move, then stop, then shoot, then rotate back and move off screen... Its easier if you see it.. you can download the swf file in the zipped archive to demonstrate what i mean. I did it there with tweens. I have a dynamically created textfield, and I would like to convert this textfield into a movieclip containing a childmovieclip for each letter of the text, so that i can animate the letters individually (for example treat them as particles and make them explode). Of course the converted movieclip should still look the same way as the original textfield.
So I'll be honest, I am very new to Flash. I have CS5.5 and I am trying to animate some images that I made in Photoshop in Flash. I would like to use tools such as the Bone tool on them but I have gotten almost every error feedback such as "cannot be applied to stroke" and "cannot link bitmap" and "cannot link group objects". I have been messing around with it quite a bit. My file is .swf and I do ungroup it but now when I use the bone tool on it, the entire image turns white.
Previously I have had problems where the picture would not disappear but my drawing would move back a bit and I could only see it through the movable window given by the bone tool in the shape of my picture. Another problem was when I used the Bone tool, the image would split into four flipped sections and not stay together. I assume this had to do with when I tried to "break apart" my image, but something similar happened on an unbroken non-bitmap image.
I have a group that contains elements placed at negative coordinate values. I would like to get the total width of the group including parts of elements placed at negative values. In the example above g1.width returns 60 (100-40) but i like to get the value 100. In the example bellow g3.width returns 0 and still i like to get the value 100. How can I do this.I have debugged the application and no property of g1 or g3 is 100.I get the values I want if I use the Box class instead but how do I get the values i want with the Group class?
I have a large amount of POIs at the same spot (e.g. the same district). If I zoom out the map I want to group these nearby POIs to one big Spot so that the map doesn't get filled up with pois. For example: [URL]. But instead of decluttering them I want to group them into 1 bigger spot. Is there a way to do this?
I have Flex application - it connects to FMS and joins to NetGroup named "default".So I have for example 4 clients connected to the same server in the same group. And looks like not all clients are connected to each other! Client1 sees Client2's streams and messages but doesn't see others. Same for Client3 and 4. I know UDP must not be blocked in networks in order to P2P connections work, and this can be a reason why not all members of group see each other.My question is - if there any ways to make all clients see each other? For example - if no P2P connection can be established - connect client via Flash Media Server or some proxy?

I am writing code to order the tab on multiple tags like "img","Panel","LinkButton",...and pie charts. when I run my flash program, the tab indexing does not work at all. it just works on pie chart and "link button" tags, not on "img","Panel","Group" tags. I also have tried to "enable tab" on those fields , but no help.on the other hand when I disable tab on the pie chart,and link button, still the tab is enabled.
