Any programmatic way of exporting legacy Adobe (Macromedia) Authorware files to XML?I know the latest version of Authorware toolkit provides for export to XML.

For those of you that use Flash like I do, as a drawing tool, then you may be disappointed to find that Flash CS5 no longer exports your graphics as .ai files. Your only options are .swf, .fxg, .bmp, .jpg, .gif, .png.Often I use Flash and Illustrator together. I'll draw in Flash and export to Illustrator. I mainly use Illustrator when I need text on a curved line. Then I bring that text back in to Flash.
It's odd because one time I just typed in .ai into the filename and it did indeed create an .ai file. However, just now, I tried to do that again and it won't work for me. ALSO... I upgrade from Flash CS3 to CS5 ultimately skipping CS4. The problem is, CS5 only let's you save to legacy CS4. So my CS3 version can't open my CS4 or CS5 files.
I try to open the macromedia flash 8 version flash file in the Adobe Flash CS4. At that time one "Font Mapping" window came. In that Window "The document "Name" contains one or more fonts currently not available on your system. The text will display and publish with the font mapping below".
View 5 RepliesI created a website a year ago using Macromedia Flash 8 and uploaded some flv files. (They were quick time movies and I converted it to flv) On my old computer I could view the files online perfectly. However since then we have gotten two new computers that came with Adobe Flash Player 10 and now every time I go to my websites I can't view my flv anymore. I click on the link and it won't pop up. Does this have anything to do with the fact I made the site with Flash 8? Because when I converted the files it said it was compatible with Flash Player 8 or later so I don't know why I can't view it now.

View 2 RepliesI have created some swf files using non macromedia software. I have loaded them as targets into movieclips in my flash file. I have then animated these movieclips linked with the external swf files. The animation of the movieclips links to what is going on in the swf files. Therefore I need to load the external swf file completely before I can animate it.What is the best way to achieve this? do i create an external preloader? How would I do this? (i'm a beginner and don't need any loading bars or anything, just a very very simple preloader!)
View 1 RepliesI am having trouble exporting my animations created in Flash CS5 (or Macromedia flash 5, or CS3) to .MOV files. I'm having these issues on different platforms (mac and pc) and different operating systems (XP and win 7) - I only get error messages and out of memory errors, even on the fastest computer I have with 4gig of RAM working on a 2mg Flash file. I just want to convert my Flash files to a format that can play on Youtube and standard DVD players. Also I've tried many converters (flash to video) - not all free (Moyea, Roxio, iWisoft, Winfx Video Converter, Amor, E.M. Magic, etc, etc) - nothing works. The main problems are either the sound is not synched, the playback is choppy, and the quality is awful. I think my only hope of getting a good video is starting with a good .MOV file exported from Flash. [URL]..

I had imported some sound files into an fla (CS5) and then i accidentally deleted the files.So those sounds are present as symbols in the fla. How do i export/extract those files from the symbols?

I have taken some video files from Final Cut Pro converted them to FLV's imported them and embedded them into flash to create some banners for the web. I need to know what settings I should use to get these out of Flash for the web.
Also I need to send them to someone to look at before publishing. What would be the best format to do that in and how to do it.
Also has anyone has any experience creating banners in or online ads in a Video format like FCP and embedding them into a flash file to export them in flash for we publishing. Sorry again for the dumb question, just new to Flash.
I'm new to Flash and have the following problem: I've picked up a Flash project tat has an embedded .mov that I need to edit. I then need to save an .swf of my Flash project. I've edited to file in Premiere, but I can't import the new .mov file to Flash, only .flv. Saving as an .flv isn't a problem, but even when I import the .flv I still can't save to .swf because I get the following error:

View 2 RepliesI have a flash interactive (Flash Player 9) with a shadowbox (lightbox clone) display wrapper. Interactive has fullscreen capabilities and is set to wmode:transparent.Works great in FireFox 3+ and IE7.IE6 and Firefox 2 however, instead of popping up in the 640X520 shadowbox diplay box, it opens up the actual .swf file (and fills the entire window).Anyone know what the likely culprit could be? Is the shadowbox wrapper, flash parameters, or fullscreen mode?I tested other shadowbox flash files in IE6 and Firefox2 without issues.

i searched the net for this error and it is because the .swf is compiled in as1/2 therefore i am unable to get it's "object" and control it.i have also decompiled the .swf and read the codes, but the codes are mostly done in as1/2 and i have no clue what it does, as i just started learning as3 , and have never touched as1/2.the below is the code decompiled, from what i understand it is used to "shift" the parts of the animation. which is a "fish" body part, to create a very smooth, swimming action. i have tried converting it to as3 code but i get errors where it cant find the variables.

View 1 RepliesI have been working on this project in flash player 9 until two days ago when we needed to implement a few features that are only available in flash player 10, such as the FileRefrence.save() method. everything worked seamlessly when I change it to 10 except for one thing, when loading an as2 swf into my app. It works fine when previewing, but when I publish, the legacy swf does not appear.

it is possible to mix different audio files and export them into an mp3 file for the end user to download to his computer.Actually, I know it can be done because they do it in various sites (aviary's myna , looplab , audiotool , remixgalaxy), I just need help on how to do it. I have the mixing part pretty much covered. My problem is with exporting the file to an mp3. I imagine that some external progamming language might be required, but I couldn't find an answer on Google... Php is my prefered language, but I'm willing to learn another one if it's not possible with PHP.
View 6 RepliesI have successfully exported images a number of times. However, my question has to do with exporting high quality images. It is my understanding that if you have some sort of draw-space (your user is drawing to with a pen tool or whatever) that is a sprite or movieclip you can then export that area to bitmap data then use a jpegencode class to encode it. My issue is that if the draw-space is 400x400 then the PNG/JPG output is going to be 400x400 and pixelate terribly if you try to make it larger. My project requires that the image be output at something like 3 megapixels or better quality. So I guess my question really is, how do you offer a user a small workspace (like 400x400) to draw and doodle in, then export that drawing into a large high quality image that can be used in printing (3-16 megapixels would be awesome)?

We need to be able to edit the size of the final file, and a PNG sequences allows us to do this in AfterEffects while maintaining good detail. Also, what programs do people use to convert .swf files to .mov, etc? We are running into trouble, it seems some programs can't convert the .swf files.

I want to generate my own classes using air, I just have not found anything that explains how I can save say a text file as a .as file.
I have some files in my src directory, some are .class files (Java class files) and some are .properties files, when I create the Adobe air native installer these files are not included. Why is that? How can I work around that?
Also it excludes .mxml files, but that's good. I'm sure that's related, how to change what it includes or excludes?
