I am having trouble exporting my animations created in Flash CS5 (or Macromedia flash 5, or CS3) to .MOV files. I'm having these issues on different platforms (mac and pc) and different operating systems (XP and win 7) - I only get error messages and out of memory errors, even on the fastest computer I have with 4gig of RAM working on a 2mg Flash file. I just want to convert my Flash files to a format that can play on Youtube and standard DVD players. Also I've tried many converters (flash to video) - not all free (Moyea, Roxio, iWisoft, Winfx Video Converter, Amor, E.M. Magic, etc, etc) - nothing works. The main problems are either the sound is not synched, the playback is choppy, and the quality is awful. I think my only hope of getting a good video is starting with a good .MOV file exported from Flash. [URL]..

I am using SWF Quicker to edit a flash swf file, but whenever I export it, all the sound is gone. Even if I export it without making any modifications, all the sound disappears. I have tried using different versions of ActionScript (1.0, 2.0, 3.0) and different Flash Player formats, but every time there is no sound

Is there a way of exporting an FLA file to a human-readable format, so that different revisions of a file can be compared?
I found a script for exporting to XML here (post 6):[URL] -- but it doesn't work as advertised - e.g. it doesn't export any details of items in the library.

I am new to Flash and this may sound, well dumb but here it goes. I have taken some video files from Final Cut Pro converted them to FLV's imported them and embedded them into flash to create some banners for the web. I need to know what settings I should use to get these out of Flash for the web.
Also I need to send them to someone to look at before publishing. What would be the best format to do that in and how to do it.
Also has anyone has any experience creating banners in or online ads in a Video format like FCP and embedding them into a flash file to export them in flash for we publishing. Sorry again for the dumb question, just new to Flash.

I'm new to Flash and have the following problem: I've picked up a Flash project tat has an embedded .mov that I need to edit. I then need to save an .swf of my Flash project. I've edited to file in Premiere, but I can't import the new .mov file to Flash, only .flv. Saving as an .flv isn't a problem, but even when I import the .flv I still can't save to .swf because I get the following error:
WARNING: This movie uses features that are not supported in the Flash 6 player
Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:VP6 Codec requires Flash Player 8 or higher
I need to export my .swf with the embedded video file for Flash Player 6 (client agency requirement). How do I solve this?

I'm sure this is me just being an idiot but I have a problem with an mp3 player I've built based on the AS2/XML tutorial on this website. Basically, everything works fine in Flash (running CS4) but when I open the HTML page, it doesn't play any sound at all. I've tried all sorts of configurations of object and embed tags but nothing seems to work. All the sound files are referred to via XML and the .swf, .xml and .mp3s are all located in the same directory.

I am trying to export a .swf file which plays video/sound so I can upload the file to a website (embedded). However, the sound does not want to play when in flash. It is basically of a person talking and lasts about 20 seconds. I have exported the file as a .mov using flash mx pro on mac. the .mov file plays in a quicktime but when imported into flash the sounds seems to disappear.

it is possible to mix different audio files and export them into an mp3 file for the end user to download to his computer.Actually, I know it can be done because they do it in various sites (aviary's myna , looplab , audiotool , remixgalaxy), I just need help on how to do it. I have the mixing part pretty much covered. My problem is with exporting the file to an mp3. I imagine that some external progamming language might be required, but I couldn't find an answer on Google... Php is my prefered language, but I'm willing to learn another one if it's not possible with PHP.

I have successfully exported images a number of times. However, my question has to do with exporting high quality images. It is my understanding that if you have some sort of draw-space (your user is drawing to with a pen tool or whatever) that is a sprite or movieclip you can then export that area to bitmap data then use a jpegencode class to encode it. My issue is that if the draw-space is 400x400 then the PNG/JPG output is going to be 400x400 and pixelate terribly if you try to make it larger. My project requires that the image be output at something like 3 megapixels or better quality. So I guess my question really is, how do you offer a user a small workspace (like 400x400) to draw and doodle in, then export that drawing into a large high quality image that can be used in printing (3-16 megapixels would be awesome)?

Does anyone have good tricks for exporting complex swf files as PNG sequences? We need to be able to edit the size of the final file, and a PNG sequences allows us to do this in AfterEffects while maintaining good detail. Also, what programs do people use to convert .swf files to .mov, etc? We are running into trouble, it seems some programs can't convert the .swf files.

I'm having a little issue with the sound on my flash website. The way my site is set up so far is that after the preloader, i have an enter site page that holds there until the user clicks on the "enter site" button. Once they click that button it takes them to the site. I would like to add 2 different sound files to this. One file for the enter site that loops over and over until the user enters the site and then that sound file will stop and the other sound file will start.
When I tried this I could not get the first sound file to quit playing once you enter the site. So basically when I am on the "enter page" it's playing the looping file fine but when I click "enter site" it plays the other audio file on top of the one looping. I hope this makes sense.

Is it possible to play multiple sound files using a single sound object? (I've looked into this back when I was using Flash CS3, but I want to know if anything has changed.)
(I'm trying to make a playlist which will play music in the background of my SWF movie and then have a frame where users can change the song and the volume.)

created a simple MP3 audio player, not dissimilar to the popular wordpress audio player seen here (ie, the mp3 is loaded via url like mp3player.swf?filename=mysong.mp3)With this audio player, if it is used multiple times on the same page, only one can actively play a song, which avoids multiple songs playing simultaneously. If you attempt to open more than one, the last one will play and the previous one will automatically stop playing the song and revert to a "closed" state.With regards to automatically stopping previous instances from playing in the background, my question is how do I achieve this same effect with actionscript?

I'm having some trouble getting Haxe to play audio files in Flash 8.At the top of my hx file, I have:import flash.MovieClip;import flash.Sound;and, within the class itself, I preload a lot of image files along with the names of the audio files.The idea is to do a slideshow with audio content. Basically, display the first slide and play the audio associated with it.Then, once that audio is finished, move on to the next slide and next audio file. I have the slides fading in and out okay but when I tried to add sound, nothing comes out the speakers.The following code is what I'm doing - the sound file associated with audios[0] never starts playing and I'm at a loss as to why.
class Whatever {
static var master : MovieClip;
static var slides : Array<MovieClip>;

I have some audio files on my http server, and I would like to write a Flash client in ActionScript3 to load those audio file and play them smoothly. Of course I can just create a Sound object and load it by .load() with a URL request. But for saving the bandwidth, I prefer to load audio file chunks on demand. For example, there is an audio file let's say 100MB. If we try to load as fast as possible when user open the page
<--------- 100MB ----------->
The downloading may finished within minutes, but let's say, if user stop listener in halfway, that's kind of waste to load whole soundtrack at first.
<--------- 100MB ----------->
^--- user may stop here
To solve the problem, I think it's better to split the big audio file into small chunks, load and play them on demands.
<--- 10MB ---><--- 10MB ---><--- 10MB ---> ...
^--- user current position
I want to design the player, let it load audio chunk by chunk, and only load it when it's near the end of current chunk.
How to load those chunks and play them smoothly? I can probably create Sound object for each chunks. But how to play them seamless?

I'm working on a game that loops a random sound file everytime the user goes to the menu. When I tried the simulate download in the preview menu, it took a long time to load the first frame (which is a preloader). I found the problem was that in the linkage for the sound files I said "Export on first frame" so i unchecked that box, but then when I tried playing again, the sound wouldn't load.So, I'm wondering, is there a way to play sound files through ActionScript without having to load them on the first frame?

However, if I choose to the "Publish" option or "Publish Setting" but choose the same folder for the .html and .swf folder then the sound will work when opening the .html file inside a browser.[code]

No matter the format no matter what the bit rate is, I can't import ANY audio files into flash CS4 without getting the error "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them"
This happens both when I import to the stage and import to the library. Please if you know anything about this issue please help otherwise the whole flash program is useless for me.
Also I found online that installing quicktime fixes the issue. It didn't work for me, I've reinstalled quicktime 3 times to make sure.

I have a problem while trying to import any sound file into flash CS5.5. I have not successfully done it since purchasing the program. I have tried opening the file in a sound editor and saving it, as well as trying to convert to a different sound type that is still Flash compatible. I'm trying with .mp3 and .wav files mostly. The error messages i receive are "Couldn't import C://*file location* or else i get"One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them." I havent figured out a pattern as to why either might be showing or the connection to the file.

I am working on a Flash / AS3 project which has several audio tracks and starts off with an intro track. When the user clicks a button a window opens and the audio track changes, the new audio track continuously loops until the user closes the window. When the window is closed the audio track switches to a default audio track which is similar to the intro track. The problem I am having is that when the user clicks on the button and the window opens, the audio track plays as expected, but when it reaches the end, it doesn't loop, instead the intro track starts to play instead (and loop I assume).
Here is the code I am working with:
Code:
package {
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.events.EventDispatcher;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
import flash.media.Sound;
[code]....
I included trace statements to track what the value of "music" is doing. It appears that when the function repeat() occurs, "music" always seems to default to the intro music "audio/track-intro.mp3".

From the Sound Class information, it says to use the SoundMixer Class to handle embedded Sound Files. I have two sound files embedded, that I have setup in 2 separate layers, starting at frame one in the main timeline. I needed to do this so I could see the wave files, and coordinate text with the waves. I do not want to load these files into the .swf file at runtime using URLRequest. How do I get a handle on those as they exist, to make each controllable by separate volume and mute controls for each sound?
This will be a challenging question, because, "it can't be done" doesn't work for me. I managed to create a way to use an external classfile to control the main timeline, the ROOT timeline, without having to create a sub movie to root. I can use my component to call play(); as though it were in code in a frame. But it isn't, it's in an external classfile. I passed root to the classfile and told the classfile to think of it as a movieclip - that put the handle on it. I tried similar way with root as a Sound, but that isn't detailed enough - I need to get a handle on the frame that contains the embedded sound file. I embedded, attached it, using the properties view for the frame.
I've attached, or whatever you want to call it, these sound files to a frame, and this frame is or should be attached to the layer I've created. So, under the assumption that the ROOT has everything attached to it in some manner (it is after all the foundation for the COM), the stage of the root contains the visual components, so ROOT has to have the layer objects attached to it, which should have the frame objects attached to the layers. I have two layers that each have a .wav file attached to frame one. Somehow Flash keeps track of that - I want to know how Flash does it so I can read what flash reads.
