I am curious about where I can find sound files that I can use in Flash CS4 or some software that may be usefull in creating/editing/converting sound files to .wav or .mp3 for use in Flash. I should probably also note that although I do have Flash CS4 I am very low on funds for software

View 5 RepliesFireworks or Flash This question is Not Answered.(Mark as assumed answered) My website was completely designed in fireworks. I'm told that can't be done but home 2000.com, there it is. I now want to switch to flash. I am having an understanding problem in converting the Fireworks png files to Flash.
1. Fireworks I saved as a swf file.
2. I tested the swf. (The file is basically a one-page display with rollovers that would each create a large picture in the middle of the screen when rollover. I believe when I call a rollover might also be called a hotspot. the problem I'm having with the saved swf file is all of the images continuously execute like a movie without stopping. This is in contrast to the purpose of the display area. It is supposed to only display the large image when someone rolls over the hotspot.
3. A third and separate issue is converting the Java navigation displayed on the left side to flash. I have asked many times for help on this and other forums and nobody can seem to come up with a way that I can duplicate, fairly closely, the navigation system that I'm using. it's nothing more than the all typical looking tree menu with two basic issues.
a. Swap out the Menu on top of screen that holds the six hotspots.
b. Swap out the large display area that holds the new eight hotspots.
c. Display an image or text in the TVBox, our term for small display area at bottom of navigation frame.
If you go to my site you will see one of the displays on the home page. Is this a large display area with the eight hotspots that I'm trying to export.
No matter the format no matter what the bit rate is, I can't import ANY audio files into flash CS4 without getting the error "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them"
This happens both when I import to the stage and import to the library. Please if you know anything about this issue please help otherwise the whole flash program is useless for me.
Also I found online that installing quicktime fixes the issue. It didn't work for me, I've reinstalled quicktime 3 times to make sure.
I have a problem while trying to import any sound file into flash CS5.5. I have not successfully done it since purchasing the program. I have tried opening the file in a sound editor and saving it, as well as trying to convert to a different sound type that is still Flash compatible. I'm trying with .mp3 and .wav files mostly. The error messages i receive are "Couldn't import C://*file location* or else i get"One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them." I havent figured out a pattern as to why either might be showing or the connection to the file.

I don't want the sound to stop once you move the mouse though because I want a few different sounds playing at the same time. At this point I don't really care whether they play for their whole duration or just for another 15 seconds! I'm doing this for Uni and the guy said it wasn't that hard.

Is there any simple way you can access a very short sound file in flash without having to play it in an flv player. its just a ding sound to play when the user hits a button in the presentation.Also is it possible to access an external pic file and then convert it in to a symbol to be used within my presentation.I just don't want to store these files to keep my main swf small.

I started building a gallery in flash before i realised that it was a bit out of my reach at the moment so I downloaded one and set to work altering it for my purposes ( and learning some action script at the same time ) but I've hit a problem. The title in the .fla file can be changed font size etc however after the first frame it's then replaced by another which i can edit but only by editing the .xml file does anyone know where / What I need to look for to alter the size positioning etc.

View 2 RepliesI bought an Easy Flash Template from web-flash-template.com. The template consists of a flash file (fully flash based site), PSD files, image files and a .txt file for all the text. There's no problem editing all the files, except for the .fla file. I am trying to edit it to add a new page, embed a youtube video, etc and I see no layers for each screen. When I look in the ActionScript I see some details there which mentions screen 50 or 95, etc, but I can't edit any of those screens. Either I'm missing the boat thoroughly (which could be ) or this is a poorly designed template.So, my question is, would anyone here who is a little more experienced with flash be willing to let me email them the file to take a quick look at it to give me any pointers?

After several minutes (less than 10!) of doing nothing but editing a .as file, I see an impending crash in the form of little pink squares around the scroll bars. Most of the time, if I save right then, then exit Flash, I escape without losing any work. If I ignore the warning signs, or sometimes just by Ugly Surprise with no warning, Flash crashes. It doesn't seem like using the app as an IDE for AIR apps, especially when doing little but composing and editing source files, ought to be that taxing.
View 1 RepliesI can't edit it in the sense that I am unable to go in and take the eraser tool and erase a section of the scene on that layer that wasn't created in Flash. I can draw on it in Flash and modify it that way. I can effect it via tweens enlarge, alpha transparency etc. But I can't erase part of the graphic that I created outside of Flash in Photoshop.I've tried erasing on the graphic itself, also after it's converted to a movie clip - inside the movie clip's timeline etc. It doesn't work. As I said , I can draw on it and effect it but I can't erase part of what was already in it before it was imported from PS4.
