ActionScript 2.0 :: Multiple Sounds - Creating Separate SWF Files To Represent Each Sound
Sep 20, 2002
I've created a small application that links various Sound Clips to corresponding Sound variables, and the individual start and stop commands work fine. However, when I try altering the volume, the controls affect all the sounds in the movie. I'd like to refrain from creating separate SWF files to represent each sound, but I will if I have to.
I am trying to create a Flash application(more like a game) where a user can add sounds to a timeline and then play the resulting "song". That is not really hard to do, and the resulting track can be saved and played within my app, but the problem is that I would like to export the created track as a .wav(or .mp3). I know that recording from a microphone with MicRecorder is possible and then the record can be exported with WaveEncoder, but I didn't find a way to create a custom sound stream from multiple sounds and than export it.
In my project I used main document file, which could load multiple nested animations as a separate files. In the main document I had a global function, for example:
_global.onAnimationEnd(mc:MovieClip){...}
and in animations (could be nested) I just called it like:
I followed the mp3player tutorial (part 3) from [URL] and got it working fine. Only problem is that the setVolume I'm trying to use with my music is affecting all my other sounds - button sounds and background sound. I'm aware of the createEmptyMovieClip/attachSound approach and got it working on my other sounds. But Lee's tutorial-mp3player is using a slight different technique, and so my normal approach doesn't quite work.
I need to allow users to preview audio files for purchasing. I have CF pages that return records form a SQL database. Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one swf when I click to play a second swf .The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. The question is: How do control one swf from another swf in the same page.The following items have not worked: soundChannel.stop();,soundMixer.stopAll()
I am curious about where I can find sound files that I can use in Flash CS4 or some software that may be usefull in creating/editing/converting sound files to .wav or .mp3 for use in Flash. I should probably also note that although I do have Flash CS4 I am very low on funds for software
I am trying to put a few songs on a website, not as an .mp3 player, I just want to be able to assign individual buttons to control them.ow, and it works great. I would like to now how to add more and assign them to their own buttons seperate from the other songs.This is the code I have for one song
var url:String = "";var urlRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);var sound:Sound = new Sound();sound.load(urlRequest);var sc:SoundChannelvar startTime:uint=0; playBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,playF);stopBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,s
The quick question is I can only get this to play sound once - then it won't do it again I am making a math game for my young kids - it adds numbers from 1 to 5 the variables A & B are randomly generated and make C
The sound reads out a string A + plus + B + equals + C (5 sound files)It does this the first time the flash is played, however, when the flash movie goes back to the previous frame, and generates new variables - it will not play the sound files anymore.
I'm having a little issue with the sound on my flash website. The way my site is set up so far is that after the preloader, i have an enter site page that holds there until the user clicks on the "enter site" button. Once they click that button it takes them to the site. I would like to add 2 different sound files to this. One file for the enter site that loops over and over until the user enters the site and then that sound file will stop and the other sound file will start.
When I tried this I could not get the first sound file to quit playing once you enter the site. So basically when I am on the "enter page" it's playing the looping file fine but when I click "enter site" it plays the other audio file on top of the one looping. I hope this makes sense.
Say I recorded and imported sound files of my voice saying "Two", "Four", "Equals", and "Plus"Would it be possible to have Flash on click string together those sound files like a string so that the user would hear:
Is it possible to play multiple sound files using a single sound object? (I've looked into this back when I was using Flash CS3, but I want to know if anything has changed.)
(I'm trying to make a playlist which will play music in the background of my SWF movie and then have a frame where users can change the song and the volume.)
I have a site where as you click links, you move forwards through a city. I want to fade sound files in and out, overlapping, depending on where you are in the city. (The site is [URL]). As yet, I can't have two sounds playing at once. I have found a site with the effect I want, it's at [URL]. (Great site, by the way)
My code is as follows. I have two sound loops at the moment, one of cicadas, one of a city at night, both saved as separate .swf files, which I have loaded onto the main timeline on layers 14 and 15. The code for the two loops is:
cicadas.swf, FRAME 1 var volPercent = 20; cicadas = new Sound(cicadas); cicadas.setVolume(volPercent*2); city.swf, FRAME 1 var volPercent = 20; city = new Sound(cityMC); city.setVolume(volPercent*2);
Once I load these two onto different levels, I get no sound. If I delete one, the other will play. I have tried loading the sound objects into empty movie clips, but then the entire file has to load before it will start playing. I need a way to stream multiple sound files, and have control over their volume.
I am working on a simple game for kids. The game revolves around the alphabet and it is all voiced. So I have a good number of sound files that I need to call on at any given moment.In AS2 I would just link all of the sound files to variables at run-time and have them ready to play when the interaction dictated it.... with the way "linkage" has changed in AS3... I feel like it would be a bad idea to have over 50 different class files (one for each sound file) so I am looking for a cleaner solution... that and I am guessing that having redundant class files misses the point.I haven't had much luck finding a forum post or tutorial that talks directly about this type of issue but the idea is a little foreign right now so I am sure I have stared directly into the gold mine and not noticed. I am very interested any thoughts or links on the subject.
I have been at this for about 19 hours straight! I am going to go to bed immediately after this post, but for crying out loud, I have NEVER had this problem before today! Before anyone reads ahead and says 'you have to attach your sound object to a completely separate mc to be able to control it independently from all other sound/root volumes.' see if the following code accomplishes just that:
I am using FLASH CS3.I have gone through many posts, seems to be an issue with many people.Still haven't come across a fix.Website made in FLASH. Flash movie loads and sound works great!I have a button with 'StopAllSounds' action script.[code]When I go back to main page... sound starts up again.Is there a way I can stop all sound regardless of where the visitor goes on the website?
My question is how possible creating streamable audio files /mp3/flv/ from multiple input files. The server is vps linux without soundcard, installed flash media server 3.5. My task is creating mixed mp3 output file.The input files are 2 mp3 file = 2 channel, uploaded to a server by the user.Controls: volume pitch, equalizer, fading that is controlled from client side flash appThe problem it should be in real time, when the user control the volume pitcher channels etc could be heard the result in the client's flash player on client side.For that purpose I tried to split the audio files into 1 sec pieces, and changing the splits only, and when done joining them together.
Feeding them to flash media server there was more problem:-the server streamed not the actual file but probably from cache -the streaming was always stopped after 1-2 seconds - using client side dynamic streaming /without joining the files / only the last file was played - using server side playlist playing more files was not played all the files So the question which way possible creating streamable files, or is there a better solution than splitting them.
I have imported my wav files to my library added them to the down state of my buttons and when I test the file I get (Sound has no valid device sound path although exporting device sounds was requested in the export settings. This sound will be ignored.) I have been surching for an answer but as of yet have found none.
I know it has been done in Madness Interactive, which I did check up on and looked through the code and found nothing, as well as Googled a bunch of stuff, and still nothing.
As I have commented before I am building English teaching apps. I will have music playing in the background, words being pronounced and at times a surprise sentence. All three could sound at the same time at any given point. To build this properly should I use SoundChannel for all of these?
At the moment my code for the music loop is as so. The sound is in the library and exported for AS. Is this code fine or is it better to assign it to the SoundChannel class.
I made some sort of MP3 player based on an XML file, and I want to load the next track when pressed on a button. Well that part works, the problem is, when I play the next song, this is what happens:
- The next song plays
- The bar that is normally buffering is already full
- When I skip to a part of the song, it skips to the first song!
How can I "clear" a sound variable and load another one?
I am facing a problem with multiple sound file in one flash file. I have added a background music in my flash and on one of the page, I have published a video. However both sound files are clashing with each other. If I will do stopAllsounds(); on the video frame then while moving on next section the sounds still remains stop.
I have an application in flash actionscript 2.0 that is running with several parts under each movieclips has an animation inside with a voice over. The problem occurs when I test the movie, the voice over/ sounds plays but when I click the pause button and play again the voice over/ sounds, sounds saggy and later on no sound will play.
that have more than 200 sounds , so I cannot just put the sounds in my libray in flash and then instanciate them as class and play them. Because the sound it will play when I click one object is not always the same.I have this function to play background sound , where enters the name of the song I wanna to be played :
public function startMusicBack(music:String):void{ var musicback:Sound = new Sound(); var bgChannel:SoundChannel;
