Does anyone have good tricks for exporting complex swf files as PNG sequences? We need to be able to edit the size of the final file, and a PNG sequences allows us to do this in AfterEffects while maintaining good detail. Also, what programs do people use to convert .swf files to .mov, etc? We are running into trouble, it seems some programs can't convert the .swf files.

I can't put links since I don't have 50 posts, but if you type Dj Mixer on ActiveDen, it should come up.Basicly, it allows you to put sounds in a folder, add them to an XML file and the flash application acts as a mixer with a timeline. You can select which loop you want at what time and create your own track.There's one thing though, it doesn't allow you to export the sound. I have no experience in that area so I was wondering 2 things:- What would exporting the sound in an .mp3 format from the compiled sound loops involve in terms of complexity? Can this be done in a short time frame or is this something that requires a lot of knowledge and ressources?- Once the exporting to .mp3 part is done, I wanted to able to take that .mp3 and send it to my phone. Do you guys know of any Websites that offer a suitable solution for this?
View 1 RepliesIm trying to create animations for use in sprite sheets for xna but am having some problems with exporting png seqeunces from flash with alpha.I know that if everything is on the main timeline then using the export as png seqeunce with alpha works fine, but when there are movieclip symbols on the main timeline, which themselves are animations, the movie symbols simply remain at their first frames on export.

By complex I mean add images, styled text (font-family, weight, columns) layout elements with large degree of control and so on. View 1 RepliesI am having trouble exporting my animations created in Flash CS5 (or Macromedia flash 5, or CS3) to .MOV files. I'm having these issues on different platforms (mac and pc) and different operating systems (XP and win 7) - I only get error messages and out of memory errors, even on the fastest computer I have with 4gig of RAM working on a 2mg Flash file. I just want to convert my Flash files to a format that can play on Youtube and standard DVD players. Also I've tried many converters (flash to video) - not all free (Moyea, Roxio, iWisoft, Winfx Video Converter, Amor, E.M. Magic, etc, etc) - nothing works. The main problems are either the sound is not synched, the playback is choppy, and the quality is awful. I think my only hope of getting a good video is starting with a good .MOV file exported from Flash. [URL]..

I had imported some sound files into an fla (CS5) and then i accidentally deleted the files.So those sounds are present as symbols in the fla. How do i export/extract those files from the symbols?

I have taken some video files from Final Cut Pro converted them to FLV's imported them and embedded them into flash to create some banners for the web. I need to know what settings I should use to get these out of Flash for the web.
Also I need to send them to someone to look at before publishing. What would be the best format to do that in and how to do it.
Also has anyone has any experience creating banners in or online ads in a Video format like FCP and embedding them into a flash file to export them in flash for we publishing. Sorry again for the dumb question, just new to Flash.
I'm new to Flash and have the following problem: I've picked up a Flash project tat has an embedded .mov that I need to edit. I then need to save an .swf of my Flash project. I've edited to file in Premiere, but I can't import the new .mov file to Flash, only .flv. Saving as an .flv isn't a problem, but even when I import the .flv I still can't save to .swf because I get the following error:

it is possible to mix different audio files and export them into an mp3 file for the end user to download to his computer.Actually, I know it can be done because they do it in various sites (aviary's myna , looplab , audiotool , remixgalaxy), I just need help on how to do it. I have the mixing part pretty much covered. My problem is with exporting the file to an mp3. I imagine that some external progamming language might be required, but I couldn't find an answer on Google... Php is my prefered language, but I'm willing to learn another one if it's not possible with PHP.
View 6 RepliesI have successfully exported images a number of times. However, my question has to do with exporting high quality images. It is my understanding that if you have some sort of draw-space (your user is drawing to with a pen tool or whatever) that is a sprite or movieclip you can then export that area to bitmap data then use a jpegencode class to encode it. My issue is that if the draw-space is 400x400 then the PNG/JPG output is going to be 400x400 and pixelate terribly if you try to make it larger. My project requires that the image be output at something like 3 megapixels or better quality. So I guess my question really is, how do you offer a user a small workspace (like 400x400) to draw and doodle in, then export that drawing into a large high quality image that can be used in printing (3-16 megapixels would be awesome)?

View 1 RepliesOn the main timeline I have a movie clip ("Sound Full") on it. The movie clip is being used as a complex rollover button for "revealing" a full sound interface. When the mouse rolls over, the word "Sound" fades out and the panel appears. When rolled off, of course it goes in reverse. I've seen it done in many places...including www.iso50.com.
Anyway, on the timeline for "Sound Full", I have three layers being used for the following...
1) Actions
2) An instance of a graphic symbol ("Sound Text")
3) An instance of a movie clip symbol ("Sound Player)
The Actions are a few lines of code to rewind or play based on whether or not the mouse is over the area or not (as learned directly from [url] And for the instances, I just used motion tweens to have "Sound Text" fading out as "Sound Player" fades in. It's like 5 frames in all. Very quick effect.
The timeline for "Sound Player" is only one frame. Each piece of the player has its own layer (play button, stop button, etc.) and the top layer (also reserved for Actions) has a single line of actionscript where I have written:

The problem is that when I test the whole movie...the rollover effects works beautifully, but the buttons in the interface aren't clickable or working at all. I discovered that if I simply tested "Sound Player" by itself...it works perfectly, except there's obviously no rollover effect since "Sound Player" is nested inside of the movie "Sound Full" which is what does the effect.
Does this make sense? Hopefully it does. Anyway, so my question is...
1) Am I missing a basic fundamental rule of Flash in order to make it run smoothly?
2) Is the "tweening" of "Sound Player" possibly messing it up? (Remember, I noticed that when the include line for the external actionscript file was in the same frame as the indiv. player buttons it worked fine.
3) Do you need to see the .fla file to help me out?
4) Bottomline...can you help me out?
I created an animation using movieclips within one movieclip. When I export it as an .mov file, it's only the one frame (the stage which my movieclip is thrown on). I understand now why that is, but I'm close to deadline and can't go around changing things. So to my understanding, when you import a Video to the library, it has to be an .mov file. Then I can convert it to a FLV file, which is an option Flash gives in the dropdown menu. That's the background. Here is my ultimate question: I want to create a FLV file from my SWF or the FLA file. How do I do it?
View 1 RepliesI have an issue concearning existing file formats for export in Flash CS4. According to the user's manual in Italian I have found, [URL] available formts include EPS and AI. As far as AI is concerned, I have this option but exported AI files are hard to open in Illustrator, since a number of problems appear. If I separate all groups in Flash and then export to AI format, Illustrator finally opens the AI file, but changing the colours and the shape of my design.
Moreover, no dialogue box for Illustrator version options appear when I choose AI for export, as is described in the support page. As to EPS file format, it is not in the export file dialogue box, the formats I have are JPG, PNG, GIF, EMF, WMF, BMP. My point is that I draw in Flash, then I need to export the designs in Illustrator for print optimization, but the content changes dramatically, if I actually can open the files.
Im working on my website which was from a template. Ive gotten pretty far and all of a sudden my FLA file isnt exporting to a SWF file. It doesnt let me test the movie either, it shows the progress bar then does nothing. Similar to this guys problem on another forum:It shows the file in the folder for a split second then disappears. I really dont know what to do and I dont want to continue working on the file if theres a problem.

What I would is to export my movie clip as an AVI file, I looked for a movieclip.exportAVI function but it seems not to exist. In fact, I just want to bypass this annoying process:
"File > Export > Export Movie... > Export Movie (Path & File Name)".
I made a banner that will appear at the top of a website, though I just found out I need to decrease the width of it. I would like to export it at a smaller size, so I go to Publish Settings and I notice I can change the width and height. How can I do this while maintaing its proportions? It is currently 791 x 275. Using CS3.
View 5 RepliesI am creating an animation using ActionScript2 on Flash Professional CS5 and whenever I try to export (or even test) my animation, the progress bar comes up but the progress does not move. Then after about a second the dreaded '(not responding)' appears at the top of the window and if you click anywhere it greys out closes it.f I leave it it doesn't export for ages (liteally like 3-6 minutes which is long for just exporting).It only has 280 frames and the .fla file so far is 9.96MB! Other animations I have made have had double the frames yet 5 times smaller a file.
View 1 RepliesI've made a video in Flash Pro, and I want to be able to play it in Flash Catalyst. I'm using 5.5 of both versions, btw. I export the Flash Pro video to a .mov file and then use Media Encoder to make that a .flv file. I bring that file into FC and publish to web. However, when I put those 'deploy to web' files on my website, the video doesn't play. Everything else works except for the video. So I put a generic, short .flv file that I downloaded from the internet into my FC file.
I published it to my website again, and everything worked fine. The video played. So obviously the problem with my video must be in the encoding process. I read one article online that said when I export a .mov file for FC, I should make sure that I don't have 'Fast - Compressed Header' selected in the Streaming options. Well, I checked and I don't. It's just under regular 'Fast'. I've even tried converting my .mov file to a f4v file, and that doesn't work.

View 5 RepliesI've been given a task to create a program that will run an audio sequence. The goal of this is to press a button and have a audio sequence run where there are 3 different possible audio sequence outcomes. Each of the 3 sequences have a different % of being picked 20%, 50%, 30%. I came up with a break down of what i think i need to have happen:
-Play event
-Random number 1-100
1-20 = audio sequence 1
21-70 = audio sequence 2
71-100 = audio sequence 3
within sequence 1 there are 4 audio clips once the second audio clip is played there is a 50-50 chance to skip the third clip and play the last or to continue and play all four.
sequence 2 has three audio clips
sequence 3 has one clip
I'm assuming i have to setup some kind of If then statements or maybe an array. I have only limited knowledge of action scripting with flash. Is there anyone that could point me in the right direction on how to accomplish this?

It is basically of a person talking and lasts about 20 seconds. I have exported the file as a .mov using flash mx pro on mac. the .mov file plays in a quicktime but when imported into flash the sounds seems to disappear.

It seems to work fine when I uploaded it to my testing site. It loads the correct swf and I can click on my menu link (the only other functional button with the action scripting) to go to another swf and it transitions correctly. Here is the problem:
After clicking on the menu link and trying to click back on the home link (containing the same swf as what initially loads) to redisplay the first swf, nothing happens. Then the menu button is unfunctional after that as well.
I've been pulling my hair out trying to get transitions sequences between externally loading swf's in my flash site.
I am loading html page(UTF-8) content using UrlLoader. All characters in the result are represented as //x??(where ?? is 1 symbol). How can I get normal string from this?(with actual symbols instead of codes)
