I am using SWF Quicker to edit a flash swf file, but whenever I export it, all the sound is gone. Even if I export it without making any modifications, all the sound disappears. View 2 RepliesI have imported my wav files to my library added them to the down state of my buttons and when I test the file I get (Sound has no valid device sound path although exporting device sounds was requested in the export settings. This sound will be ignored.) I have been surching for an answer but as of yet have found none.
View 3 RepliesI'm sure this is me just being an idiot but I have a problem with an mp3 player I've built based on the AS2/XML tutorial on this website. Basically, everything works fine in Flash (running CS4) but when I open the HTML page, it doesn't play any sound at all. I've tried all sorts of configurations of object and embed tags but nothing seems to work. All the sound files are referred to via XML and the .swf, .xml and .mp3s are all located in the same directory.

It is basically of a person talking and lasts about 20 seconds. I have exported the file as a .mov using flash mx pro on mac. the .mov file plays in a quicktime but when imported into flash the sounds seems to disappear.
View 1 RepliesI've created a small game with Box2d for AS3 - I have sprites attached to the stage that take their position from the underlying Box2d world. These sprites are mostly PNGs.When the game runs with DrawDebugData() bening called every update, it runs nice and smoothly. However when I comment this out, it runs choppily. In both cases all my sprites are being rendered. So it seems that it's running faster when it's drawing the debug data additionaly (i.e. my sprites are on the screen in both cases!)What's going on? Does drawing the debug data flick some sort of 'render quick' switch? If so, what's the switch!? I can't see it in the Box2D code.

Interestingly, If i set the debug draw scale to something different to my world scale, it slows down to 19fps. So there's something happening when it draws the boxes under my sprites causing it to run quicker..
I am connecting FMS over RTMP from a firewalled network where RTMP is blocked.Connecting to my FMS server from there takes (a too long) one minute before the Flash client switches from RTMP to encapsulated RTMP into HTTP.Is there any way to by pass this delay or is it a plug-in inner behavior that cannot be short-cut ?

I want to know if there is a faster way to take several bitmaps and arrange them one after another in a single layer in a movie clip.
This is how I am doing it currently.
Stage 1: Import the bitmaps to the stage
Stage 2: Distribute the bitmaps to layers
Stage 3: Make the first bitmap a movie clip symbol and cut the other bitmaps' frames
Stage 4: Go into the symbol, create a new layer, and paste the frames.
Stage 5: Click and drag the other frames into one layer, one after the other.
I now have a single movie clip with all my bitmaps ordered one after the other in the timeline.
We've got an app written in Flex that displays data from our app. The .swf file is only 427kb, but it takes a full five seconds to load in Firefox. This is a headache for our users because they need to access the page that contains the app frequently. (The app displays documents, and it's really slow to march through a list of them).
I've confirmed that it's not a slow web server problem. The .swf appears to be cached in the browser. Firebug reports that every time the web page accesses the .swf, the app server returns a "304 Not Modified" response, meaning that the load time from the server is almost zero.
Is there anything we can do to debug this issue? Or is the Flash player just slow?
My Sprite class keeps losing focus when I click with the mouse - specifically after the MOUSE_DOWN event (before the click is complete).
I have set mouseEnabled to false on the children, no change. I added a listener for FOCUS_OUT and noticed that the FocusEvent.relatedObject property is NULL, which is confusing me - doesn't that mean there is no new focus target, the focus is just getting lost?
The exact sequence of events I get, by tracing them, as I click:

I made a very minimal javascript bookmarklet (~1 KB minified) that lets me play videos inside a distraction-free lightbox. In my script, I clone the <embed> element containing the movie and wrap a lightbox div around it, so even in those cases where the "Turn Lights Off" chrome extension fails, mine works. Only problem is that since I clone the <embed>, I lose any buffering I had done previously. This is a major turnoff as I'm on a slow connection and I don't always remember to load the bookmarklet before hitting play — the UX is downright horrible.Is there a way to improve the script so I can isolate the <embed> in a lightbox without losing any buffering done prior?

Are their any tricks or things I can do with actionscript to make images load quicker? I have a full browser xml image gallery and the images are physically big but optimised in Photoshop. I have a preloader to display the loading amount, but is there a way to speed up the loading?Flash image galleries I've seen have images of similar size to mine but seem to load quicker. Is there a way to partly preload the images before they are used. I don't want to preload all the images cos that would take ages.

(listener and handler are in the same class).Would the last event overwrite the event before? I lose Sessions because i use Flash (swf) menu to navigate between pages.
So when i navigate to a page using the Flash menu, I lose the session.

I just found out that the session was opened on http://WebSite.com/ And the flash was redirecting to http://www.WebSite.com/
So the session losts between domains, and not between pages because of flash :) I just made all my site use the www domain .
I'm working on a project where I want to use a transparent png, and when authoring in Flash CS3 (using actionscript 2.0) the png image appears transparent just as it should. However when I test it the .swf file loses the transparency entirely. The png image was saved for web from photoshop as png-24.

The building map is on an angle so I rotated and skewed the button text to match the map. All the text looks fine within each button symbol, but when published 4 or 5 of them lose their skew...the rotation seems to still be intact.

I have an swf that is an image viewer/browser that has references on same level, an ImageProperties.xml and some folders full of small jpeg tiles.I actually have a few of these, each in its own folder.Above these folders I have another swf that is the main one, and I am loading from there the other ones with the code pasted at end of this post.
This works if I replace the URLRequest by just the name of the swf to load and I put the main swf with the loader function and the loaded one at same level. But if I leave URLRequest going one level deep "16/xxx.swf" and have the loader swf one level up then it loads the viewer but doesn't show the image.

I'm having some serious problems with my dynamic text fields. The case is, I format the dynamic text fields to have character spacing and line spacing both equal to 1. Everything seems fine in the SWF when the text is actually typed INTO the dynamic text field, but when I make it fetch text from Actionscript or an external XML file Flash player renders the text as if it had 0 character spacing and 0 line spacing.

That is tied to a mediaDisplay component. When I put a trade for thankyou.onSoundComplete....Nothing happens.So with the Flash still working fine for the most part, I export the movie as a Quicktime movie. It plays the intro audio but never moves forward from there.The background noise is gone.

View 4 RepliesI'm having a really weird problem exporting a library asset (movieclip) to a swc file. This should be really simple to do... The strange thing is, if I do not include the outside code in my project, when I try to export the asset as a swc, it will give me errors, but it will also create the file with no problem. If I include the outside code and export the library asset as a swc, it compiles with no errors but it NEVER WRITES THE FILE! This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Has anyone else run into this problem and if so, how did you fix it? If I repeat the same process in windows I do not see the same issue, it creates the swc without any hesitation. Is there a weird setting in Mac OSX that I need to change maybe?
