Flex :: Disable Soft Keyboard With Checkbox?

I have a TextArea and a Checkbox. I want to disable the SoftKeyboard when the checkbox is checcked, so the TextArea can be scrolled without it popping up. I can get the keyboard to disable when the Checkbox is clicked, but as soon as I click on the TextArea to scroll it pops back up. How do I enable/disable the keyboard with a checkbox? Below is my code:

Is it possible to display the Soft Keyboard when debugging using ADL? If I use the existing properties I still don't see it. I want to check if my layout looks well when the Soft Keyboard appears, but for some reason I don't see it coming in ADL (Adobe Debug Launcher). I don't have a tablet to test it on for now so that isn't a solution. I don't see the soft keyboard or doesn't it exist in ADL?

I have a Pure AS3 mobile project that I'm developing in Flex 4.5, and deploying on both Android and iOS.I have a TLF textfield that is set to editable, and when I touch on it on Android the soft keyboard shows up as expected, without me having to explicitly tell it to show up.
BUT on iOS, when I touch on it, I get the text field's focus event firing, but the soft keyboard doesn't show up. Anyone know how to make this appear, so the user can enter in text? it is possible to enter text in a pure AS3 mobile app on iOS.

I'm using Flex 4.5.1 with AIR 2.7 (and Flash Builder 4.5.1) to build an app for the Blackberry Playbook.
The app has a large textarea that needs to be resized when the soft keyboard shows up. I am able to hook into the soft keyboard events and do things there.
Now, I want to resize the textarea to fit the remaining part of the screen when the keyboard shows up. I know the current and destination size and want to use a smooth animation to show the textarea resizing. (I can't already set the height and can see the textarea being correctly resized in the keyboard_activating event - but I want to do it through an animation). I've tried using the Animate class, the spark.effects.Move class and none of them seem to work in this case. They seem to run the animation but the screen does not get refreshed!

I'm compiling a Flash project to an iPhone IPA file from the command line. I have an editable TLFTextField on the stage, but whatever I do, the softKeyboard on iOS won't pop up. Trying to set "needsSoftKeyboard" on the TLFTextField gives me an error when testing the movie via Flash: "property not found". The movie does load correctly on iOS, but still no keyboard pops up. It also doesn't matter if I put "pan" in the application descriptor file or not.
Basically I just want a keyboard to pop up to fill in text in an input field. What am I missing?

I would like the native Flex checkBox to change state only, when the box is clicked. If user clicks the label the state shouldn't change.
The click event cannot be muted as it is utilized in parenting components.
how to obtain such functionality? How to detect, that user has clicked the label?

This PHP contact form works well and is very simple. I have one checkbox in the fla file. However, it keeps displaying 'No' in the email message field, whether the checkbox is selected or not. It should display 'Yes' if the checkbox is selected, and 'No' if the checkbox is unselected.Here is the PHP:

I am using Actionscript 2 in Flash CS5, and I have "on(keypress)" actions, that allows the user to navigate using the arrow keys on the keyboard. However, as soon as I add any of the "components", it disables the entire keyboard. I am trying to add a scrollpane, and the scrollpane works but it disables the keyboard in both the projector mode using flash player, or in html using the Internet browser.

I have two sort of calculation aspects in a game. I have a calculator that I'm loading as an swf into my project, and I have a small app that is coded in the exercise that the user can enter numbers. Here's the thing, when I punch in numbers into my coded app, the numbers appear on the calculator (in the display). So I figure that when I hit a keyboard key, it goes to both aspects. I wish it'd only do the one present on the screen. So I have a few ways of thinking. Go into the code of the seperate calculator app and display keyboard input. Or find a way to only apply keystrokes to whatever is on the screen.

However on the same SWF is also a contact form...now whenever you fill it in and use the 'F' key it tries to put the flash file into Full ScreenHow can I disable all shortcuts when in frame 30 of my SWF (the contact form) and then re-enable them when moving away from that frame.Using Flash CS5 with SlideshowPro. Accessibility is driving me up the WALL! I have a system that has menu pop-ups and because of accessibility when the user selects OK it does what ever action the pop-up does and when the user presses ESC it leaves the menu. My issue is this all works fine when testing it in the swf file and selecting the 'disable keyboard shortcuts' BUT when I embedded it into HTML is loses this function and the short cuts stop working and at points activate html stuff. Is there a line of code or something that I can place in the .swf or .html that will disable the keyboard shortcuts?

I'm trying to capture keyboard events with the following code. I'm testing in an external popup flash player in FlashDevelop and it ain't tracing anything. I reckon it might be something to do with keyboard shortcuts in the flash player.
But I can't find where to disable them?

I am using datagrid and added 3 columns to it in flex project. Data is provided to each column by using itemrenderer. Itemrenderer is checkbox for each column. Name of columns are col1,col2,col3. I want to make the checkbox in col1 selected when i selects the checkbox in col2. But i am not able to do this.

Out of the box, Flash CS4/AS3 doesnt seem to support the soft hyphen / discretionary hyphen (­ / U+00AD). Is there some trick to getting it to work, or is it simply not there?

Has anyone worked with SION (sioncenter) synth within flash to generate audio sounds? I have been having a play with it to generate a piano sounds for my on-screen piano. It looks promising but i seem to have got a really bad latency delay with it. I have trying to link the keys on the computer keyboard so the user can play the on screen piano. I wasnt too sure wether to put each key into an array or just have them as a movieclip on the stage. Just as a testing method i used the stage. I have found a few examples here: wonderfl.net/c/fbIa and the latency delay is certainly not as bad as mine. If anyone has used SION could they possible give me a tip of how to optimise my code? manage to create softshadow and there is a background on it.URL...the two girl have a white soft shadow on it. From what i know, the only way to do it is in photoshop but the background cannot be remove. Or bring a gif but the shadow won't be solid.
