I have a grid, when i click on the edit button it goes to edit page... but i need the value in the grid also to be passed to the page. this.dispatchEvent(new DepManagementEvent(DepManagementEvent.EDIT_NAVI));The above code lands in EDIT page... how can i move the values too.My Parent Page code.
private function editForm():void {
var event:DepManagementEvent = new DepManagementEvent("Edit Page",true);
dispatchEvent(event);
From what I understand a framework reduces complexity in areas that are common, like a log-in system. I use ASP.NET MVC at work and have done some work in Zend Framework but do not get how a framework helps with client side development. The reason ASP.NET MVC is used at work is for Unit Testing - does a Flex framework help with this too? why I should or should not use a framework with Flex?
I am new to Flex and need to integrate Java services with Flex UI built using Mate framework. Can anyone point me to any website/links or show an simple example of integrating Flex UI on Mate framework with Java remote services? A simple integration of a "LoginService" will be good enough.
I am developing a Flex application on top of Mate framework. In this application, I am using a webservice to retrieve data.As this webservice as not a fix location URL (depending on where customers installed it), I define this URL in a config file.When the Flex application starts, it first reads this config file, then I would like to use the value I found to initialize the webservice.But currently, I have no idea how to this.
I am working on a simple project involving flex 4 and Mate framework. When I am including Mate event map in fx:declarations tag in mxml file, and when I fire up an event, Mate event handlers listen to events and act upon it.
The issue is this, in action script based project, when I instantiate the eventmap class(this is in mxml file only) and keep it in top and fireup an event, instantiated eventmap is not listening to event fired up from action script class.
I'm using Mate's RemoteObjectInvoker to call methods in my FluorineFX based API. However, all requests seem to be sent to the server sequentiality. That is, if I dispatch a group of messages at the same time, the 2nd one isn't sent until the first returns. Is there anyway to change this behavior?
Can I handle an event inside a loaded swf file(using swf loader) using MATE when my main application fires the event ? i want to make a remote service call based on the data i get from the main applications event , and then populate my loaded swf .
I'm working on a project that has a Main.fla and a Preload.fla. I am doing all the coding in Flash Builder 4. Each time I want to test I have to go to Flash CS5, publish Main.swf and then run Preload.swf. Is there a way to automate this process so I can just press the "Run Main" button inside Flash Builder 4 and all that is done automatically?
My company is willing to reffactor its biggest and heaviest project introducing some kind of framework. Are there good online source/issue/blogpost with comparison of these 3 frameworks - Robotlegs, Swiz and Mate?
If you once run an ObjectBuilder the object instantiated will be cached and next time you use an PropertyInjector or something else, the instantiated object will be used instead of creating a new object. Or at least this should be like this :) But in the example below it seems that mate tries to instantiate the object again: The following error occurs:
Lately i discovered MATE (for Flex development) and was wondering: how do i bind a property in a view (actually a navigatorcontent component) to another property in a class so that they stay in synchronization (meaning that whenever the property in the class changes the property in the view also changes).
So if we have a view called Target.mxml and a property targertProp how do we bind it to the class called SourceClass with property SourceProp?
I'm developing a web application (client in Flash Builder 4, server in Eclipse 3.6 + Tomcat 7 + Spring 3 Framework). How do I make the Flex client automatically deploy in the Tomcat server and use BlazeDS messaging and remoting more seamlessly?
I am able to get the result, but not able to dispatch the event from the custom actionScript class. I googled and got the riposte that you need to add it to display list.
I have a custom event class public class FFTDrawEvent extends Event {
public static const DRAW_EVENT:String = "drawEvent"; private var _param:Array = new Array(); public function FFTDrawEvent(type:String, __param:Array, bubbles:Boolean=true, cancelable:Boolean=false) { _param = __param; super(type, bubbles, cancelable);
[Code]...
Both class (Dispatcher & Listener) are Child class of a MXML application. Also listen to the event in the parent MXML application doens't work. Listen to the event in the dispatching class itself somehow works.
I have to feeling that the EventDispatcher class is not the right one to dispatch events to a mxml application or respectivly AS classes, which extend/inherent from a MXML component class.
Let's say function foo() is executing. Suppose that an external event occurs, for which you have a handler. Will function foo() be interrupted so that the event handler can be executed? What is the order of execution in this situation?
I got a question about event dispatching in flex.my goal is to get a custom event loaded up with some data and than bubble up to the eventlistener. my main application has and AMF service request inside which calls an service class. that class is supposed to dispatch an event when the AMF service request returns a result or fault and the main application is listening for that event.so inside my mainapp i add and listener like this:[code] However, this event never reaches the main application. Looking closely to it with the debugger, i found out that when the event is dispatched the listeners property of it is set to null.
Basically I am trying to create a string Validator which requests a new language from its controller by dispatching an event upon its creation.
The example below is a straight copy from the Flex3 component explorer - the only diffrence being that I have created the validator as a custom component which dispatches an event upon its creation.
The problem is that my main Application cannot hear the event being dispatched and I don't know why.
I have a main application Planner.mxml. This view has a couple of custom components, one of which is LoginView.mxml. In LoginView.mxml I do the following:
protected function btnLoginClick(event:MouseEvent):void { try {
[code]....
As you can see, when the user is successfully logged in, I want to dispatch a custom event; if not, I show an alert box. However, this event doesn't dispatch (or at least, I don't know how to listen for it).
I would like to listen for it in my main application where I can then change my viewstate to the logged-in state. However, the event never seems to get there. I listen for it by having loggedIn="loggedInHandler(event)" on my loginComponent.
I'm trying to dispatch a custom event from a custom ItemRenderer. This is my custom event package events { import customClass.Product; import flash.events.Event; public class CopyProductEvent extends Event { public static const COPY_PRODUCT:String = "COPY_PRODUCT"; public var picked:Prodotti; [Code] ..... The event from the function is dispatched correctly... I can't intercept it..
I have been seeing some Flex Frameworks, but would like to ask to the programmers and Architects down here on which has suited best in your application.
I have a rather large Flex SWF and am breaking it up into separate Modules. There is some overlap between the modules and I want to put all of this into one shared RSL. The problem is that this RSL gets really large as soon as I use any Flex code because it has to include the Flex Library.Flex Builder doesn't seem to give me the option to use the Flex framework RSL in a library. Also compiling with compc and passing the runtime-shared-library-path doesn't seem to actually use the rsl.So it seems like this is something that is unsupported? Does anyone have any idea how I can do this? Is it just not possible? Is this something that is likely to be supported in the future or already supported in Gumbo?
I'm using a component in a cairngorm PopupWrapper. I want to listen to the KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWn event on the component but it doesn't seem to be dispatching it. Is it because it's in PopupWrapper? Is there anyway I can get it to dispatch the event?[code]
I know the flash engine is single threaded so when it receives an event, does it essentially break off, execute any registered event listeners (in no guaranteed order) then return to the current scope?[code]can I guarantee that the current function will complete before any of the event listeners execute? ie trace("Done"); will ALWAYS execute first.
