I'm using image embedding in Flex 4 (the same goes with Flex 3). [code]...
When i run the application i see the icon but in Flash(Flex) Builder i can't see the images while working in Design mode. Is there any way to enable image visualization in Flash Builder design mode ? or a better way to include resources.
I have an Air Application which uses mx:HTML to show a html Page. This html page is located in my bin-debug and as long as i start my application out of FB it works fine.
In Project -> Properties -> Flex Build Packaging -> Package Content the test.html is selected
When I build the project by Project-> Export Release Build the HTML file is not included in the Air Package and so cannot be shown.
I have some rich text created using the flex (flash builder 4) rich text input control. I want to display at least some of it in a column of an AdvancedDataGrid control.
I will not be hosting the .swf file and I would like to include images using Flash Builder 4. The images appear in a folder in the exported version and I'm not sure how to "embed" them into the .swf (so that I can deploy the file to sites like Kongregate, etc.)
Seems like it should be simple, but my Google fu is currently poor.
Edit: Note, I would like to continue using the Flex framework, which is what I am using now.
I got some Images in my scroller component. while scrolling the scroller sometimes hang for a second... i think the image is loading. is it possible to load the image before the scroller is on the position?!.
How can I add a set of dynamic images and then add event handlers to each that trigger a different event? My scenario is that I have a remote service that grabs a set of data (ArrayCollection) that has a className, classID and classDescription. I would like the images to have event handlers that trigger a new panel display that would show the "classDescription" for the particular class that is clicked. My problem is figuring out how to retrieve the proper set of data and adding the images properly to the panel.
I have a components and classes project library. Within the library, flex builder only seems to display content/code assist options for top level classes (e.g. arguments, Array) but not other classes such as VBox. Also, within the non top level classes, class properties are not provided by content assist.
I'm using skins from www.scalenine.com. In Flex Builder's design view, I can't see any background images that the has CSS set. It's only visible when I run the app. How do I fix this? See attachment screenshot.
I am currently making a Flash Builder Project using Actionscript 3. I have come unstuck trying to embed and play MP3 sounds.I know that the MP3 file is loading as i have traces the bytes loaded, i have also traced the function which plays the MP3.
import flash.media.Sound; public class Sounds {[code]....
I am using the Flex Builder 3 debugger almost every day and it's starting to be a real pain that the 'Variables' tab in the 'Flex Debugging' view doesn't show local variables, only 'this' is displayed.
Also I can not add Watch Expressions for local variables.
Am I forgetting something here or is the debugger just very limited?
Does anyone know if there is a way to make the new Package Explorer window in Flash Builder emulate Flex Builders 'Flex navigator' window?
Bottom line is I don't always need to peer into SWC's, and I don't like having a 'default package' automatically created for me. Not sure why the interface wasn't made simpler, allowing access to more power and complexity only if necessary. I want to focus on the code, not on how to navigate and use the bells and whistles in the coding environment.
I would like to know if I have to dispose an image in AS3/Flex when using the EMBED-tag:
[Code]...
When I addChild this class and remove it via removeChild, do I have to dispose this or is this unnecessary? I just ask because it uses the Bitmap-class and under normal circumstances you have to dispose it for the garbage collector. Or is there another way to embed images without the Bitmap class? I just ask because I'm new to Flex and have problems embedding my stuff into my game.
I just upgraded to Flash Builder 4 (beta 2) from Flex Builder 3 which I have been using since it came out. Problem: All the projects that were in my workspace from Flex Builder 3 did not carry over into Flash Builder 4 (e.g. in the "Flex Navigator" view if FB3). Flash Builder 4 now uses the .FXP format to manage projects, but Flex Builder 3 did not. Is there an easy way to get all my projects back into Flash Builder 4?
I have an AIR project that I was working on Flash Builder 4.5 which now I'm trying to import to my updated Flash Builder 4.5.1 and it is prompting me to fix some paths before the import is completed. I'm kinda clueless what I should put in those fields.
[URL]
The project access a web server to retrieve data using JSON.
I'm doing a Facebook App where I'd like to pull out all the possible images from a user's album.What I'm trying to do at the moment is a fql query so that i can find all the images that belong to that specific user. it goes something like that:[code]I store this images in an array collection but I don't know how to proceed after that. How can I load those images into, say, a Tile List or a Loader?
I am trying to migrate a project from Flash Builder 4.0 to Flash Builder 4.5. After Flash Builder prompts me to choose my new SDK, I choose 4.5, Then I get the following error:" error "The required skin state 'disabledWithPrompt' is missing".
I have a FileReferenceList from which I'd like to display images in a DataGrid; currently I'm getting the following error: Only one download, upload, load or save operation can be active at a time on each FileReference.Here is my DataGrid:
I'm working on a project (using flash builder 4.5) where a user can click on one of a number of pictures to perform an action. The images are all loaded into an array of UIComponents through actionscript. I have a private variable as follows: private var _selectedChild:UIComponent;
Which keeps track of which UIComponent is currently "selected" (was the last item clicked). I just want to show an Alert when the picture is clicked displaying it's id and the source filename. Alert.show("Current id: " + _selectedChild.id + " -- filename: " + _selectedChild.source);
The id comes out easy with _selectedChild.id, but there is no such thing as .source - I looked throughout the entire list of possible variables eclipse gives me and I can't figure out which one would display the url or the source. I feel like I might be missing something easy - does anyone know how to get this information from a UIComponent?
This is the relevant mxml: <dp:Test id="test" width="100%" height="100%" > <mx:Image id="i1" source="images/i1.jpg"/> <mx:Image id="i2" source="images/i2.jpg"/> </dp:Test>
I have a flash assignment that. The assignment is to create an application for playing a card game, I have to create an MXML component that has two variables, one variable stores the image of the back of a playing card, the other variable has t store all 52 options of a front facing card (the second variable will store over 50 images).
I've written the variable for the back of the card image like this:
I have about 90 images which I need to embed into action script (version 3). The only way I could figure out is typing the following code 90 times for each image.
[Embed(source="images/door0091.bmp")] private var Door1:Class; var door1:Bitmap = new Door1();
It's really painful to write it so many times. I would like to know if there is any way to do it programatically?
I cannot use the loader method as the images need to be present along with the swf file. I want the swf to be independent once it is compiled.
I have a number of thumbnail images (8K ish in length), stored in a sqlite database, encoded as base64 strings.
I would like to retrieve these images and present them into a datagrid (along with some other information from the DB)
The retrieval of information from the database works, but I cannot quite "see" how to connect the decoded result from the database to the datagrid, to display the images.
Below is some code, where I show (to simplify things) a simply DGrid and want to use the dataprovider to point to the select from the DB[code]...
I have an image of type '.bmp' (NOT jpeg or png). I am trying to embed it using the following code.
[Embed(source="images/door0091.bmp")] private var door0091_class:Class; private var door91:Bitmap = new door0091_class();
On compiling, the code throws following error.
'door0091.bmp' does not have a recognized extension, and a mimeType was not provided Unable to transcode door0091.bmp.
To overcome that I tried to give a 'mimeType' which is giving a type coercion error during runtime:
[Embed(source="images/door0091.bmp", mimeType = 'application/octet-stream')] private var door0091_class:Class; private var door91:Bitmap = new door0091_class();
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert DoorImages_door0091_class@3891e041 to flash.display.Bitmap.
I've searched in the google, but I am not able to find the correct answer. I don't want to convert the image type(bmp) to jpeg or png.
I have this flashbanner that is using an external xml file which lists the images used in the movie. Is it possible to embed this xml and images to the flash document. Because i've no possibility to use any external files wit this one...just the flash file.
var image1:String = http://somewhere.com/image1.jpg var image2:string = .....image2.jpg var image3:string = .....image3.jpg and so forth.........
i have a timer that displays each variable as an image one a time ....
how do i "buffer" the image and display them instead of going out each time the timer runs? im asking because sometimes the server could slow or some other reason. so what i want to do is to download all those images and then display them from the clients computer. some sort like @Embed ??
I am creating column chart to show friends score statistics in facebook application. My problem is how to display friend names with images in y-axis and their score in x-axis.I cant able to pass any arguments in the method 'setSource' of tag. see the sample code here.
How to give a ms word like interface to a user so that he can enlarge and contract the display objects like Images, canvas, Hrules etc. at runtime in an web application?
