I'm trying to get the title from the selecteditem from this datagrid (which is filled by a rss-feed) in a label. I've searched for ways, but I can't find how I should get this done.
This is the eventhandler I've added to the datagrid, and the function:
dgAutoFill.addEventListener(ListEvent.ITEM_CLICK, showDetails);
public function showDetails(event:ListEvent):void {
lblTitle.text = ?;
}
I have an editable DataGrid in Flex, with data full of numbers. The columns have no special itemRenderer, but a labelFunction, which returns the number as-is if positive, but puts it in parentheses if it is negative, like so
27.3 => "27.3" -27.3 => "(27.3)"
Now, these cells are editable. When I try to edit a cell with a positive number, nothing is wrong. But if I try to edit a negative number, it starts editing (27.3) instead of editing -27.3. Because of this, when the edit is done, the labelFunction is evaluated with the new value in parentheses(i.e.,labelFunction is called with "(30.5)"), and converting it to a Number results in NaN. So, I want to know if I can make the DataGrid edit the data in the dataProvider instead of the label that it shows.
I have 16 columns in a DataGrid in my Flex app. The first 15 look fine, with the column, simply containing the text, but the last one has a lot of extra space. Essentially, the columns are just big enough to fit the first 15 and all that extra space is tacked onto the 16th column.
How can I evenly distribute the space over each column?
We know already Datagrid defult sorting , when we click on header of dategrid then automatically sorting records well . But how can we sort within inline itemreander linkfield label in datagrid . In project defult sorting properly work in datagrid but linked field column only not sorting ? Is it any way to sort functionality?
I'm creating a table that displays information from a MySQL database, I'm using foreignkeys all over the place to cross-reference data.
Basically I have a datagrid with a column named 'system.' The system is an int that represents the id of an object in another table. I've used lableFunction to cross-reference the two and rename the column. But now sorting doesn't work, I understand that you have to create a custom sorting function. I have tried cross-referencing the two tables again, but that takes ~30sec to sort 1200 rows. Now I'm just clueless as to what I should try next.
Is there any way to access the columns field label inside the sort function?
public function order(a:Object,b:Object):int { var v1:String = a.sys;
I am having this problem using the dataGrid in flex. I have a Label in one of the columns of the datagrid, and the label has the truncateToFit property True. But it is not working.
At first I had a static width to Label, and it works in that case. But the problem using that is, when I change the wide of the column, in the output, it does not changes the width of label, and if I make the column width small, the label wont get truncated.
Using 100% width for the label, does not helps either.
I am observing a problem with how an embedded font is applied to certain Flex components, namely mx:Label and mx:DataGrid. I have a CSS that declares three variations on an embedded font as follows:
@font-face { src:url("buttons.swf");
[Code].....
(I've snipped some stuff from both style rules, so if you think there's something that may be causing a conflict I can certainly post the entire definition. It's mostly color, line and padding stuff for the DataGrid.)
The problem that is for both Label and cells in the DataGrid the text is being rendered as sort of a times new roman font. The headers in the DataGrid are fine, just the text in the cells is wonky. All other components use the correct font as defined in the CSS/SWF.
In the Spark DataGrid the default row height is about 22 px. I would like to set the default row height to 18 pixels and I can do this easily enough with the rowHeight property but what happens is when the rowHeight is set to anything less than 22 px the bottom area of the text in each row is cut off. It seems that the default grid itemrenderer or grid label has a min height set to it. Since I have multiple columns and want to have shorter rows but not have the bottom of the text cut off in each row how would I do this?
I need to convert a lot of stuff in my profession - so I'm building a conversion tool for my phone with some of the conversions I use a lot. Now, I want to be able to build this properly. So far, here's my code:
I've got a Gridcolumn in a Datagrid (Spark). The Column's dataprovider is a Number value that gets updated via Binding.Now, without an item renderer the cell displays the correct values.If I set an item renderer, I can't access the values in this renderer.My renderer looks like this, so nothing really do here (for now) but to trace the value, but the value is always NaN.
I have a DataGrid whose dataProvider is an Array of int Arrays (each with different lengths). Since each row has variable size (and I want to display all the data), I decided to extend DataGridColumn and overwrite the itemToLabel function to be able to display the data. The problem is that I also need to display the data differently depending on the int value.
I believe the only solution is to write an itemRenderer, but the only input the itemRenderer.set(data) function receives is the entire int Array. I believe I need either the exact string returned by itemToLabel or the column index of the cell the itemRenderer is for (to basically do the same parsing I implemented in itemToLabel).
I have a flex-application deployed on tomcat with blazeds. User constantly selects ranges excel-document. Now, a user enters a cell addresses in text fields (for example, C1: C20). But it is very inconvenient! How to display excel-data as a table in my application? I think, I can parse excel-document using Apach POI and transmit these data to the Flex-application. But there are other ways?
I built a simple hello world app to check out the Flash Builder 4.5 mobile capabilities.Here's how it works:The Default View asks for name in an textinput and has a continue button.When you click the continue button it pushes a new view in the viewNavigator which just displays "Hello " + name in a label.When you click anywhere in this view, it pops a view (i.e. itself) from the viewNavigator, to go back to the default view
I see only 1 issue with this:When I get back to the default view, it is in its initial state, i.e. the textInput is blank. It seems as if the viewNavigator created a new view of the default view's class and pushed this, instead of just removing the top view and displaying the previous one.I see this being especially problematic for programs which display data in a grid and you can click the data to view the detail...when you get back, the grid will be empty.
I'm working for the first time with a TileList and an itemRenderer and I'm having a bit of trouble getting the information from my array collection to display Here's what I've got
private function loadData():void{ var stmt:SQLStatement = new SQLStatement(); stmt.sqlConnection = sqlConn;[code].....
how I go about pulling the information from the array and putting it into labels like username, userjob, userbio ect, Inside the TitleList and itemRenderer.
I'm working on a Flex application that uses MVVM. I understand that it's recommended to have a 1-to-1 mapping between views and view-models. How then do I avoid performing the same calculations and storing the same data multiple times if it is needed in multiple views?
For example, imagine I have a program that can load project files consisting of a list of items. The main tab of my application has an export button that should only be enabled if the project is valid so I create an isExportEnabled property on the view-model for the main tab. The calculation for this involves validating the project by iterating though every item in the project and verifying some attribute on each. I have another tab which has a "Print Project Summary" button so the view-model for this tab has isPrintEnabled. The value for this flag is based on the same criteria, whether or not the project is valid.
I could put the logic for determining these values in their respective view-models, but then I end up calculating the same value twice when a project is loaded. I could move isValid to the domain model but then the model becomes denormalized. What if a saved project is edited without updating the "isValid" flag? I could make a global "Project View-Model" for the entire project which calculates whether the project is valid and then have isExportEnabled and isPrintEnabled delegate to that. However, then I end up with a hierarchy of view-models which this article recommends avoiding: Applying the Presentation Model in Flex
My label text is not showing up after binding the arraycollection to the label text. Could I see an example of how to properly bind an arraycollection to a labels text?
I have a bar chart where I'm trying to get the data labels to show. When the values are all positive the data labels appear fine. When I mix in some negative values, the datalabels don't show:
I'm trying to extend ButtonBarButton to include an additional label that shows the number of updates for the respective box in a viewstack (which is the tabbar's dataProvider).
I can get the additional label (named indicatorLabel) to read an initial value from data, but I can't get it to update automatically like the actual "label" attribute. My understanding was that you could bind to the data object, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
is it possible to create an item renderer for the data labels of a Flex Pie Chart?i know it is possible to change the formatting of the String using the label function. But i need more control of the way the data label appears.The background of the label needs to be a a specific color based on the data.
I'm working with an Adobe Flex project and I have data I'm plotting against a DateTimeAxis (X-axis) but because there are a lot of points, I have to do some manipulation and remove some objects in the array (I do this by copying data to another array, removing items, then copying the new array into the original array). However, sometimes after I do this, the date labels disappear off of the x-axis! Why does this happen? I look through my array and I cannot find a reason its occurring (no objects with nothing in them, everything appears in chronological order).
The data provider (ArrayCollection) for my data grid consists of objects with ByteArray (int) fields. How do I make the data field display as int without transforming my data provider?
I have a custom dataGrid that acts more like a 2D list (if that makes sense at all). I am dynamically creating the columns and recreating the dataProvider to suit my needs. While debugging I can see that I am creating the columns and setting them to the dataGrid and creating and setting the dataProvider, but for some reason I am able to see the dataGrid and the columns but not the data.
[Bindable] private var mockData:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection([ {value: "425341*"}, {value: "425341*"},
I'm following flex tutorials but i'm not doing exactly as they do, so :hat i want I have an input text, with a button 'search'.I want when this button is clicked that the data returned by the function search are displayed in the datagridWhat i have :
The text input : <s:TextInput includeIn="DetailServeurs" x="58" y="361" width="209" id="txt_search" text="Default text" focusIn="txt_search_focusInHandler(event)"/>
I'm currently using RobotLegs with the Presentation Model pattern to develop a Flex 4 project. I understand that all business logic related to a View resides in the Presentation Model associated with that view, however, I am confused when it comes to View specific logic.For example, I have an indicator that needs to be positioned relatively to list items depending on which list item is selected. Is it acceptable in the Presentation pattern to put the logic that will position the indicator in the View and simply have that logic run in reaction to a selectedIndex property changing in the presentation model?The reason I am considering this is that since the Presentation Model does not have a reference to the view it is difficult to come up with an ideal solution for manipulating view components.
Calling a simple refresh (like with a simple arraycollection as a dataprovider, or with a refresh on the Grouping Collection) does not work. Also re-assigning the arrayCollection to the Hierarchical Data and then assigning this one again to the Datagrid does not work (even with calling invalidateProperties() or validateNow()).
I have a DataGrid and I set the DataProvider to my data. When my data changes the DataGrid loses the selected row and the scroll bar jumps back to the top. How do I maintain the selection and scroll position?
