I have a datagrid with about 10 or more columns, say for example a few column names are: Item Id, Item Name, Item Status and VerifiedState. Initially I want the column Verified State to be disabled.
Now When the value of the column, Item Status is Review Passed for a particular row, I want the column VerifiedState to be enabled and editable. Is that possible in Flex datagrid.

I have an Accordian in my application. Each child of the accordian has a label firstNameLabel) and a button (addPolicyButton). The label's value is being set via Repeater and an array. How can I access the firstNameLabel's value of 'selected child of the accordian' when the addPolicyButton is clicked?In following code testTextArea.appendText prints 'fname: undefined' in the testTextArea.Where as I can see in the accordian that the set label's text is set to 'Michael' which is what repMonitor.currentItem.firstName returned.

I have a small flex datagrid. The dataProvider is an xmlList. I have two columns, userList and user permissions. The user permissions column as checkboxes. The values for the checkbox are stored as 0 and 1 in mySQL. While returning it from PHP, I am converting them to true or false. Its returning the values correctly to the frontend.
But inside the itemrenderer, the checkbox is not being set to true or false.
Either everything is true or everything is false.

I am performing a find operation in a datagrid on one of the columns. After I find the row containing the item, I make that as the selected index row, which highlights it. But now I also want to scroll the datagrid down or up (if the item is out of screen scope) to show that selected item automatically on this find operation.

Does not want to work for me. Tracing the expression in debug it is returning "XMLList (@11e55e8d1)".
The datasource is an XMLListCollection. tracing the expression myDataGid.selectedItem I can see the studentID node and it has a value.
I see that starting with Flex 4.5, Adobe recommends that we use the spark.components.DataGrid class as an alternative to the mx:dataGrid which I am not at all familiar with or where to start to learn. I have this mx:dataGrid all setup and otherwise working and would prefer not to have to learn something new.

I have an editable DataGrid in Flex, with data full of numbers. The columns have no special itemRenderer, but a labelFunction, which returns the number as-is if positive, but puts it in parentheses if it is negative, like so
27.3 => "27.3"
-27.3 => "(27.3)"
Now, these cells are editable. When I try to edit a cell with a positive number, nothing is wrong. But if I try to edit a negative number, it starts editing (27.3) instead of editing -27.3. Because of this, when the edit is done, the labelFunction is evaluated with the new value in parentheses(i.e.,labelFunction is called with "(30.5)"), and converting it to a Number results in NaN. So, I want to know if I can make the DataGrid edit the data in the dataProvider instead of the label that it shows.

-Single-click on a row, doesn't make the cell show a text input field (only selects the row)
-Double-click on a row, doesn't make the cell show a text input field either
but
-Clicking a cell in an already selected row, shows a text input field ready to be edited.
We know already Datagrid defult sorting , when we click on header of dategrid then automatically sorting records well . But how can we sort within inline itemreander linkfield label in datagrid . In project defult sorting properly work in datagrid but linked field column only not sorting ? Is it any way to sort functionality?
View 1 RepliesI'm creating a table that displays information from a MySQL database, I'm using foreignkeys all over the place to cross-reference data.
Basically I have a datagrid with a column named 'system.' The system is an int that represents the id of an object in another table. I've used lableFunction to cross-reference the two and rename the column. But now sorting doesn't work, I understand that you have to create a custom sorting function. I have tried cross-referencing the two tables again, but that takes ~30sec to sort 1200 rows. Now I'm just clueless as to what I should try next.
Is there any way to access the columns field label inside the sort function?

I am having this problem using the dataGrid in flex. I have a Label in one of the columns of the datagrid, and the label has the truncateToFit property True. But it is not working.
At first I had a static width to Label, and it works in that case. But the problem using that is, when I change the wide of the column, in the output, it does not changes the width of label, and if I make the column width small, the label wont get truncated.
Using 100% width for the label, does not helps either.

I am observing a problem with how an embedded font is applied to certain Flex components, namely mx:Label and mx:DataGrid. I have a CSS that declares three variations on an embedded font as follows:

(I've snipped some stuff from both style rules, so if you think there's something that may be causing a conflict I can certainly post the entire definition. It's mostly color, line and padding stuff for the DataGrid.)
The problem that is for both Label and cells in the DataGrid the text is being rendered as sort of a times new roman font. The headers in the DataGrid are fine, just the text in the cells is wonky. All other components use the correct font as defined in the CSS/SWF.

I want the selectedIndex to remain the same. So, if I delete item 2, the next in the list should be selected. The problem is that if I delete item 2, item 3 will be selected and I have no idea why.
I need a datagrid, which contains checkbox (4 no's) without multiple selection. And I also need a text area which should contain the selected checkbox's label/data. I tried using arraycollection but I am not getting.

But even then, setting the selection didn't work![code]So, is there any better way to access/change the text which is selected in mx:Label and mx:Text controls? Are there "better" controls to use?

What I want to do is, when I select an item in the datagrid, the selected item of the dropdown should be the correct one (the one which has the field idCompSuperioara equal to the third element in the selected datagrid row).
When you have two of the same records in your data providor (i.e. the same object twice in an array) then the datagrid only allow you to select one of them, see the example below - you can only select the last "Moo".

I'm pretty sure this is becuase of the selectedItem property - i.e. if you have two of the same objects in your dataprovidor and you select on its only going to select the first one it finds. Not sure the best way to resolve this. I could make sure each object is unique by cloning them all. But then I will have to make sure that updates on the 'a' object are propagated to all the "clones" of "a".

I'm trying to create a button that will simply link back to the context root. I noticed flex has a @ContextRoot attribute that appears to work only in certain cases. For example, if I try to use it in the following mxml:

I get the following error: Error: Attributes are not callable.
when i doubleclick on the linkbutton its still working i dont know even though i have made linkbutton doubleclickenabled property =false too.
