I'm trying to create a button that will simply link back to the context root. I noticed flex has a @ContextRoot attribute that appears to work only in certain cases. For example, if I try to use it in the following mxml:

I get the following error: Error: Attributes are not callable.
when i doubleclick on the linkbutton its still working i dont know even though i have made linkbutton doubleclickenabled property =false too.

I am feeding the label to my LinkButton directly from a string I receive from a Google API that puts html to format the label.
I want to extend linkbutton to allow this. I wrote a class myself to allow html text for the label and that aspect of it works but now the background that appears when you hover is way too big. I tried to override measure() to fix this but I didn't have a clue how. Here is the class I wrote:

is there a way to span the text of a link button to 2 lines? so instead of "Save Page" to be in one line only, I want it to be in 2 lines.

my issue here is if you use this component you will see that the text is bunched up into a very small area. It does not fill the entire width of the linkButton.
There are styles for over and clicked but no up state.

(The mouseOver event seems relevant, and I do a noop() on that event, but my goal is to leave the style unchanged rather than do something specific.)
By the way, I am using a non-default style, defining it with CSS in the MXML.
In my application one Datagrid and down one Canvas is there.
I have a DataGrid with Data. When i select the data in the Data grid, the focus is displayed in the canvas. In the canvas i have a chart component.so when i select the link data on the datagrid the focus should be in the chart component in the canvas.

View 1 RepliesI have an an array of objects. I populate the datagrid from the array. The nmber of columns in the datagrid is fix i.e.5 and the first column always shows serial number (0,1,2,3,4). I have a link button called 'CLEAR' in the last column of the datagrid.

The icon appears in the tab, however, I can't click it. I also tried a button and it's almost like the parent button container does not allow the child to be clickable. I did play with some parent properties (like super.mouseChildren), but couldn't get it to work.
How can I programmatically click the browser's Back button from within my Flex application. I'm using deep linking to allow the user to navigate back/forth inside my application. I want this to work when BACKSPACE is clicked inside the application as well, but Flex captures BACKSPACE and the browser doesn't get the event. I don't want to implement browsing history myself within the application, naturally. Can I send BACKSPACE to the containing browser?
View 1 RepliesI have created a style in which i am defining a font family.When i apply this style to label it reflects the font were as there is no change when it is applied to a spark button.I Tried various way to Apply font style but it doesn't work.Other properties work fine except font family. Even i tried creating skin class and set the font family style of label in it. While previewing the skin i can see the changes but when i apply it to buttonApproach 1

The problem im having is that, this method of creating a simple button with skin is being phased out : Infact it is no longer supported in flex 4.5 mobile projects.
So the question: Is there a simple way to perform this, with spark buttons (which is suppose to be the new way to go). As simple as possible.
Basically i only need a button with 2 images : down/over & up. And i want to keep the code as simple as possible : The new skinning methods, seems to really adds way too much lines for something that used to be as simple as the example above.
I'm fairly new to Flex. I want to make a button (icon) on the far right in the middle of the page that display a sliding side bar with multiple buttons in it when you hover over it. I want when the user hover out of the button bar it slides back again.
Conceptually I got the basics of that to work. The issue I'm having is that when the user moves the mouse between the buttons in the sidebar it kicks in changing state and side bar slides back again. I tried using different types of containers and I got the same results.[code]...
I'm trying to make a Calendar which can have radio buttons embedded in specific dates, which will be chosen by making a service call, but that's not a problem. I have had two approaches to it so far, one could be taking a datagrid, and making it a calendar, and then placing the radio button inside the cell using an item renderer. The second approach could be Extending the Calendar class, and adding radio buttons inside. Using the first approach, the problem is to fit the dates in the right order in the grid for any specific month. We could get to know the first day (Mon,Tue..) of the month but filling the grids correctly causes issues. I was wondering if someone ever tried doing this or if there could be a simpler approach.
View 2 RepliesI'm making a trivia in an Air application, a question, three buttons, after you choose one, the right button gets coloured green, the wrong ones get coloured red. I was trying to do this changing the styles, so I created a Button.Right and a Button.Wrong style, but I also need to disable the buttons so they don't get clicked more than once while I'm showing the correct answers.
So I'm having trouble making it so the buttons don't look greyish and with the alpha turned down when I set their enabled property to false. I'm trying to be as minimalistic as possible here, changing disabled-overlay-alpha or disabledOverlayAlpha in the css file doesn't seem to do the trick, neither does changing disabledBorderColor

Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

Nothing seems to show up and the screen is still empty. I am importing mx.controls.* for the button. Could that create an issue since I am not using mxml only as3?
