Apr 5, 2012I have a Flex UI and want the numeric stepper to add a preceeding '0' to the displayed value if it's between 0 and 9, so that it's always 2 digits.

Jan 24, 2011I have a AS spinner class that I downloaded from Jake Hawkes (click here to see it running).I want to replace the flex application preloader with this spinner. I have previously used custom preloaders, but that was just for editing what already existed. Anyone know how that spinner.as could be used instead of the loading bar?

Flex :: Create A "Please Wait" Spinner While Data Is Being Imported?
Nov 19, 2010I am creating an Flex AIR app which imports data from a zip file into a sqlite db. I need to show a progress bar / "Please Wait" spinner animation so that the user waits till the operation completes.
I have tried to put a pop-up spinner animation but the problem is that the spinner stops spinning as soon as the database import queries start executing.
I need to run both the spinner code and the import code simultaneously rather than sequentially.

Flex :: Changing Value Of A Numeric Stepper?
May 21, 2010I am trying something where I have 2 Numeric Steppers. One numeric stepper holds values from 0-230 and the other from 0.00-0.99. My question is how to change the value of the first numeric stepper when the second numeric stepper goes from 0.99 to 0.00. Suppose the first numeric stepper has a value 10 and the second numeric stepper is being incremented continuously. As it reaches 0.99 and on mouse up on the up arrow, 10 should change to 11 and this numeric stepper goes to 0.00.

Feb 8, 2011I need a small help in Flex Numeric Stepper validation.I have setted a min value to 1 and max value to 10, Now my requirement is when ever user can enter a value other than the range between 1 - 10, i want to display an alert saying "please enter the val's between 1 and 10". I want this scenario to be success in all possible event listeners like Keyboardevents/mouseevents/default numeric stepper events. Actually i am failing to produce an alert if i typed the value as "0". Other than this everything is fine.

Feb 21, 2009I am trying to make a spinner application in order to help teach students probability.I want it to be customizable so teachers who use the application can change the number of divisions of the circle, how many different colors the different sections of the circle are, and whether or not to display numbers on the sections as well.So for example the teacher could say, I want 5 divisions with 2 colors and no numbers showing.Or I want 10 divisions with 5 colors and numbers showing.
A:make a circle with a specified number of divisions.
B: Color those divisions different colors.
I am eager to see if this is possible via code, because it is well beyond my paygrade; but that isn't saying much

May 22, 2011trying to make things for my classroom. Dawsonk was kind enough to help me out with it months ago, but I had a computer crash at school and lost it. Unfortunately the school system doesnt try to recover stuff, they just wipe it.What I want is basically a gaming wheel (like at a carnival, the kind you spin).I want to be able to have a .jpg or something that I can modify (if I change the lesson later, or for different outcomes, just replace the .jpg with a same sized wheel).I just want to hit a button, make it spin, slow down, and stop. Maybe a second graphic of just a pointer at the top that overlaps it so you know where it lands. It doesn't even have to stop exactly on one 'category' or 'slot'. It just needs to slow down and stop randomly.

Jul 21, 2010So im opening it up to the commuity as a programming challenge!!For something which i assumed would be very simple, writting a robust and solid multi turn spinner handle for flash in as3 has become the bane of my life.Feel free to download my attempts so far (attached), which cover the basics of a single rotation, and make it look like im further ahead than i actually am.The difficulty lies with the very specific things I personally need the spinner to do,and the fact its SO HARD to explain..Its actually used to control a piece of animation that is 72 frames long.I need the first "lap" of rotation to send the playhead to frames in the 1-36 range and the second rotation to send it to frames 37-72. So two full spins would take it to the final frame, one full spin would go half way to frame 36.
Problem is the rotator handle needs to be locked at the initial position, so a user can't drag it backwards to start with but can drag it backwards once theyve moved forwards. (think of turning on a hot water tap, many turns in one direction until it stops fully on, then the same turns back again to reach the original start position of fully off)I also need the rotator to be able to be used in anti clockwise and clockwise modes.The ideal is to be able to set the total number of animation frames to be controlled and the number of rotations required to reach the final frame, then have the spinner work everything else out for me.
Flex :: Grouping Collection Separating Numeric 5 From String "5"?
Apr 8, 2010I have an advanced data grid. The data provider for this ADG is an ArrayCollection. There is a grouping collection on an ID field of this AC. Example of a couple items within this AC the AC var name is "arcTemplates":

Problem: In my AC example there are a few items, items 0, 32 and 56 properly sort and group to their templateTypeID, but item 55 does something weird. It seems to sort/group on the numeric 5 instead of the string "5". Gets stranger. If I change the name property to contain text (so 1234x) it then correctly sorts/groups to the string "5"

Dec 23, 2010I am in a situation where user gets the cars data from the database based on the selection and displays it in datagrid like below ( for example)
Company Model Year No
GM Chevy 2010 10

GM Pontiac 2010 12
Honda Civic 2009 12
and there will be a link next to datagrid to get Pie chart based on the data displays in the data grid . The pie graph should display grouping by company and the count . I mean for the above example that should give with two pie items , one for GM showing the number of vehicles ( in this case 3 ) and Honda showing the number of vehicles ( in this case 1 ).
I thought of getting it from the database by querying and grouping it .But here the problem is after getting the data above in the datagrid user can able to filter at client end ( By year or model ) and can say get graph . This time that should only display the graph for the data visible in Datagrid .Grouping on database for every operation is becoming expensive. Since we have already data available at client end , is there any way to group it at client ..?

Flex :: Upload - Adobe Flex Mobile Selecting Image From Camera Roll Or Taking Picture Restarts The Application
Jan 19, 2012I have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.
