Flex :: Blazeds - Disconnect Client From Server?
Jun 15, 2010I am using BlazeDS. Does anybody know how to disconnect client from server? Client must be informed about this event.

View 1 RepliesAs far as In understand the Flex technology, a Flex client connects to a Flex server to retrieve business information. Is this the only allowed connection for the client, back to the originating server? Or can a Flex client also open a secondary connection to a different server wich runs BlazeDS for message exchange?(This might offer an option for load balancing and cross-platform development).
Update: I have found this page which links to the Cross-domain policy file specification:[URL]..
I have Flex/AIR app that connects to a tomcat server via BlazeDS. I'm not finding that I have to integrate an old webapp (struts/jsp) and I'd like to keep that webapp untouched except for login, authentication and session handling. Also a 3rd java app that uses httpclient.
Currently I have some blazeDS remote objects to handle login/logout with a few RPC calls. In turn, FlexSession objects are created and handled. Is there a way to use httpclient and javascript to call those blazeds RPCs so I dont have to recode and have 3 different means to handle logins and sessions?
I have a server with some simple java objects running. I want to build the client with Flex and connect to the server data with BlazeDS. The problem is the Flash Builder is not generating the Classes correctly. Just the properties are being generated, the inheritance are not being generates.
View 1 Replieswhen I'm streaming in live :a. FMLE is disconnect for couple seconds (10 -30), stop encoding and then renew the connection and the encodingb. In the same time, I can see users (streams) are disconnecting/ disappear from the console. As said it can happen once in a session, but this disconnect most of the users and they have to refresh their browserto get the live session again.Currently I'm using FMSS 3.5.4 r210, Linux redhat 5.2,6 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 16GB.I found a post named "FMS disconnect from FME" (Jun 7, 2010 3:36 PM by BJWP Ltd)
View 2 RepliesI have a flex application that communicates via BlazeDS with two webapps running inside a single instance of Tomcat. The flex client is loaded by the browser from the first webapp and all is well. However on the initial call to the second webapp the client receives the following error: Detected duplicate HTTP-based FlexSessions, generally due to the remote host disabling session cookies. Session cookies must be enabled to manage the client connection correctly.Subsequent calls to the same service method succeed.
View 2 RepliesI have a spring BlazeDS integration application. I would like to log all the request.I planned to use Filter. In my filter when I check the request parameter. It does not contain anything related to the client request. If I change the order of my filter(I have spring Security), then it prints some thing related to spring security.I am unable to log the user request.
View 1 RepliesI am using BlazeDS for data-push feature in my Flex application project. From the official tutorial, Getting started with BlazeDS, it shows messaging example with producer/consumer from API. but how can I implement server side which doesn't need to be invoke from Flex client, but from within server-side instead. I got some idea but I don't know how to do because I'm a Flex developer, not Java developer In Google, there's a tutorial show about I need to extend ServiceAdapter class in Java-side, which extends Invoke method. Do I need to extend other class instead of this to do what I want?
View 3 RepliesI got a mxml file that launch a script on my http server through a HTTPService.send() call. Since the script on the server side takes a LOOOONG time (it could take even more than a hour) i would like to drop the connection between my air application and server when a button is clicked. Don't know why but calling HTTPService.disconnect() is totally useless... No tcp connection drops and script keeps on running on server side. No HTTPService.cancel() nor set HTTPService var to null worked.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a Flex-based desktop application consume messages from an ActiveMQ topic with a durable subscription, using the JMS bridge of BlazeDS. The basic scenario is as follows: Messages are produced by other producers in the topic to which the Flex client is subscribed. The Flex client may go offline from time to time, but it must receive all the messages it has missed while being offline when it connects to BlazeDS again. (Of course the Flex client connects with the same client ID every time). It can not be guaranteed that the Flex client is shut down gracefully.
Everything works fine if I explicitly disconnect my consumer on the Flex side by calling disconnect() - I do it in the exit handler of the application. However, due to #3 above, it is not guaranteed that disconnect() is called all the time. When the Flex client shuts down without calling disconnect(), it seems that the subscription of the "proxy JMS client" that BlazeDS creates and associates to the Flex client stays active towards ActiveMQ, so ActiveMQ still thinks that the client is logged in. When the Flex app starts up the next time, it is unable to log in to BlazeDS because ActiveMQ refuses its subscription, claiming that the client ID is already taken. Why is it so and what can I do here to ensure that BlazeDS makes the "proxy JMS client" offline in ActiveMQ when its real Flex counterpart terminates unexpectedly?

We're writing a flash application that can download a MP3 file, convert it to a Sound object, get the raw data and make some processing (like adding sounds, change octaves). After the processing, we want to send the data back to the server in chunks, so the server will be able to glue the data together and recover the new generated file. The problem is: if we send to the server "wav" pieces of sound, we are able to glue them together without any problem in the generated file. However, if we convert each wav piece to a mp3 file (so we can send a smaller file to the server) and join the mp3 files at the server, the result is a sound with some problems at the merge point.
This is how we load the mp3 file from the server:
sourceSnd.load(new URLRequest("sample url to mp3"));
sourceSnd.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, carregou);
This is how we convert each piece of mp3 to bytearray and wav:

I am using blazeDS remote object. I need to get a client ip address from clien request. Is it any way to get ip address and system information in blazeDS java.
View 1 RepliesWe are new to FMS and have just deployed a FMS 3.5 for a live streaming project.but I seem to be getting a bit of an issue where the FMLE seems to disconnect and reconect to the FMS several times.but some times the FMLE seems not to be able to reconect back to the FMS. I read somewhere that this bug have been fixed with the FMS version 3.5.3 updater.also I can see the client still connected afoter they drop connection on the admin console.I dont mind setting up the updater but just want to be sure this would fix the problem as I have live web TV on the FMS.Also is there a way to update without loosing all the config? View 1 RepliesI have an fms app which won't disconnect people in IE unless they close the browser completely. Simply going to another url in the browser leaves their name in the peoplelist. I've tried everything here without success. Even IE 8 shows same problem on Vista. IE on XP works fine as well as some versions of IE on Vista.Firefox, opera, chrome all work fine everytime. The problem, it seems, is IE won't "leave" pages until it's closed no matter what.
View 3 RepliesWhen a user refreshes the page in IE9, the disconnect handler isn't called. So in an application like a fms lobby, a user seems to stay in the list when he actually isn't there anymore.
View 2 RepliesI create a Flex application that works with a browser using a database with the MySQL server that I can create, modify and delete data from a database. The problem I encounter now is that I want to see my program with Adobe AIR (virtual machine). At the display that does not pose a problem. The problem is that air can not reach the database server is located in the MySQ. the error message displayed is as follows: "Error : client.Error.MessageSend - Channel.connect.failed error tConnection.Call.Failled : HTTP: Status 404:url:'[URL]"
View 2 RepliesI have a question about the Java Factory; I've read somewhere that: "... the JavaFactory will check if there is already an instance in the scope and return that. If the object is not available then it is instantiated ...", but I don't understand the expression "if the object is not available"?I am having trouble to find and/or assign classes already instantiated (by another class) in the server, to a declared destination.
I'm developing an application in Java: J2EE.I'm running it on a Tomcat 6 server I'm using BlazeDS to communicate with Flex. I'm using the RPC's Remoting Service (through RemoteObjects)There are two java classes that handle Client (Flex) interaction, say ApplicationClass and UserApplicationClass:
ApplicationClass has a reference

I have a flex UI which communicates with server using spring blazeds. I have a very typical requirement of Live data streaming on a panel in UI. Requirement is like this, We have an object say, Person and server keeps pushing its data on blazeds message destination where UI panel consumer has subscribed and hence user can see this live data in a panel. User can open multiple panels in same browser to view data for different Persons at the same time (e.g id=1,2,3 respectively). There can be multiple UI users who may be viewing the same data for person id=1 at a given time, lets say.
Basically I want to separate data between UI panels. UI panel opened for person id=1 must not display data of that for person id=2. I am doing this using headers-selectors, but apparently I found out that the differentiation to select and display what data happens on UI which is causing performance issues. I learned that using subtopics may improve performance. But, before proceeding for it, I want to know, will UI browser end up in receiving data irrespective of subtopic assigned to data and then consumer will decide to accept it or not?
When I connect data services using blazeds I get following error message.

Why am not able to connect? But when specify remoteObject in the declaration tags and call the methods it works fine.
I am using FMIS 3.5.3 (Linux) to fork an RTMP stream from FMS to two different CDNs. My FMS application does roughly the following:1) Client.prototype.FCPublish() creates two NetConnections, one for each CDN2) Each NetConnection's onStatus() creates a new NetStream object if info.code == 'NetConnection.Connection.Success'3) The stream that's supplied to FCPublish() is attached to each NetStream4) .publish(stream.name, "live") is run on eac

3. No disconnect messages apears on access.0x.log
I have a java class which has been deployed as WAR web application in a BlazeDS/Spring server sitting on JBOSS. Apart from the Flex application which will access the WAR file, I also need to start some server side process's which will initiate BlazeDS "pushes" to the Flex client via AMF messaging.
What is the best way to implement this server side process? - Should it just be a class with a main() method in the WAR file which gets called from the command line? Can this be done - not sure you can run a class in a WAR file from command line? - Should it just be a class with a main() method in a JAR file which gets called from the command line? Not sure what the standard practise here is. The key is that the process needs to be started on the BlazeDS server to push data out (not on the Flex client).
When streaming a live event through FMS 3.5, is there a list of guidelines or best practices to handle the situation when the stream disconnects and should reconnect.Basically, what I do now is wait 20 seconds after the initial disconnect, then close the stream and ask the user to ty to reconnect to the stream again.
View 3 Replieshow can I find on fms server that client disconnected if if client disconnected due to power cut off. I client manually close the application then onDisconnect on server is called but if due to power cut off it does not called.

View 6 RepliesI've read some books on creating stateless websites, I've read some about stateful client applications, but a lot of complexity comes along when you have to combine both. We have a Flex application that needs to persist data to a database via .NET services. Things to keep in mind are:
- Concurrency (optimistic/pessimistic)
- Performance: Flex needs to load in lots of data so lazy-loading is often necessary.
- Do you use Dto's to transfer data between server and client?
I'll tell you the history of our product. We've used SubSonic from the beginning as a o/r mapper. SubSonic objects are converted to dto's written by us and these dto's are transferred to the client. Clientside the dto's are converted to the domain model. If clientside a domain model object needs to be saved, it is converted back to a dto and send to the server. Server side the dto is converted to a subsonic object and saved to the database.
Now, some time ago, we needed the domain model on the .NET server side... so now we have like three models on the server side, the subsonic model, the dto model and the domain model. The dto model is more simple and resembles the database more, the domain model has much more logic. It gets complex... We now have to synchronize the AS3 domain model code with the C# domain model code. If we could do it again (of get time to refactor) I think we wouldn't use the dto's anymore, but transfer the domain model between client and server. Dto's are simple objects so easy to transfer. Domain model objects can be very complex.
I'm building a Flex application, which is going to perform many server requests (let's say, that almost all interactions require an update from server). At the moment I'm using remote procedure calls for it. But I was wondering if using a socket would be better. In other terms, is maybe better to keep the connection alive rather then performing many calls in sequence? For my demo app I only have 1 client. Is the number of clients connecting to the server a factor for this choice?
