What is the best way to make a multi column form in Flex?My current solution if more than one column is required is to put the form items inside an <s:HGroup> but the alignment isn't the best.
I need to to a programmatic multi column sorting on the AdvancedDataGrid.The issue is, currently I am implementing paging on my grid. So, if I sort the data,only the perticular page is being sorted. So,I need to sort the entire list by the column criteria.I tried HeaderRelease event,but I guess it is of no use as I need to make a round trip call to the server to get the sorted data.Is there any way I can implement that.I also need to show the sort markers in the Column headers' right position, indicating the sort numbers and direction.
I have created a Viewstack and using a Tile component and repeating LinkButtons I was able to make a multi column navigation with the viewstack as the dataprovider. My question is can this be done better? My code is below and I am wondering if I took the long way around this approach.
Below You can see screen-shot of my app. There is no scrollbars at the borders.Here is the screen-shot with scroller set to width and height to 300 pixels.As You can see the scrollbar is not attached to window.
I have defined the datagrid as followsmx:DataGrid id="dg" width="100%" height="100%" >n the part i am trying to get the details from the database and setting the dataProvider for the DataGrid as follows.
var arrayContent:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(); for(var i:int=0;i<assetClassDetails.length;i++) {
No matter what I do, my transitions won't work as expected. I'll explain the issues and then place the code at the bottom. There are 4 States in my application.
goButton is present only in "State1" and "State2". State1 and State2 are nearly the same, but the y property of the goButton is diffrent in each. So I've made a little transition that moves the Button back and forth. Good so far.
However, both "State1" and "State2" can also be Transitioned to "State3". But there's no goButton in "State3", so I've used the <s:Fade> and the <s:RemoveAction> effects to get rid of it.
I have a Flex 4, mx:DataGrid with the following (pertinent) properties set:
width="100%"horizontalScrollPolicy="off"
I have the minWidth set on all of the DataGridColumns and the width set on one of them. If I simply maximize/minimize the display (in browser or stand-alone flash player) of the application, the columns scale up and down nicely. But if you grab the edge of the application and drag it to make it bigger, only one column grows really big. When you drag the size down again, the one column remains big, but all of the other columns get squished way down.
In Flex, using AdvancedDataGrid, I'm trying to achieve a drag and drop of one row's column data to another row's column or the same row but different column. Is this even possible? I've been googling for hours and all I can find are drag and drop whole columns just to rearrange their view order.
I am working with Flash Builder 4.5 using Adobe Air, Flex and Actionscript 3, to develop a mobile application that works with multiple views. I want to change the height of my actionbar on all my views. I know that I can dynamically change it in actionscript 3 using:
navigator.actionBar.height = newHeight;
However, I would prefer to have the height in my style (.css) file, or if that's not possible, in the mxml code in every view, so that the actual height is reflected in the design-view. How can I accomplish this?
I am developing a game for Android using Adobe AIR 3.0, also i am using Samsung Galaxy S2 to test my game, and is running pretty well with decent 30 fps.to control the game-play, i am using virtual joystick and some button on screen (e.g. to throw weapon, jump etc). however it seems that multitouch is not working fine, if i press one button and and in the same time if i down another button. first one stops working. here is the code snippet which defines multitouch behavior -
[code]...
for jump button, virtual joystick etc - i am using TouchEvent.TOUCH_BEGIN event.
I've got FormItems with labels, and I'd like for the label to appear on top of the textinput within it rather than to its left, but I don't know where I need to go or what CSS I need to set this.
Multiple axis creation via MXML works fine: http:[url]...
But when I'm trying dynamically create horizontal and vertical axis then I'm getting extra axes. I believe this is Adobe bug. How I can fix this behavior?
Now the last name form will only appear in the register screen. This would be really useful I think in .NET where you use the page for views like update / insert. I was considering extending the Page element to have a states property using extension methods, and adding the include in to controls. This way I could auto-hide controls based on the current view at render time.
What is even cooler in Flex, is that you can use different handlers / properties based on the current state.
How do you two-way bind an integer to an input field in Flex/FB4? is_admin is an integer : <s:TextInput id="textUserIsAdmin" text="@{user.is_admin}" width="5"/> I receive: 1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type int. Is there a different input type, or do I have to bind a different way?
Is there a guide or document that deals specifically with migrating CSS and style attributes from Flex 3 to Flex 4? I have an application that I'm keeping on the 2006 namespace, but I'm having trouble with a couple concepts, like the halo only styles, the CSS namespacing conventions, and styling child controls.
when user clicks on Add button, then a pop up button will be opened with certain form elements (like textinput, date field, text area).. When i used 'TAB' inside this form,it is not working.I found in couple of Questions / forums that we need to create an instance of FocusManager and then bring/activate focus for the pop up.But still i didn't see the tab working inside the form.In order to tab order working inside a pop up, what steps we need to follow.
I tried using focusmanager and property like tabfocusenabled, tabenabled and also added taborder inside each form element.Iam using Flash Builder 4.5 and using spark components for development.Is there any workaround for this problem?
I would like to have vertical tabs in Flex 4. I have started implementing this by having a vertical list down one side. On list selection I am updating the selection index of a view stack. This gives the functionality of vertical tabs.
My problem is the look and feel. How do I get the list to have a similar look and feel to the horizontal tab bar? Is it a case of overriding skins? I have found this post: Flex 4 vertical TabBar
which does implement vertical tabs. My problem with this is that I do not get any text in the tab. I think the problem is that this was originally written for flex 2. I am using flex 4 and am trying to put this component inside a
I have an ArrayCollection which has several employees and departments.Each employee belongs to one department. How can I find out how many employees are belonging to the same department from the said ArrayCollection.In database we use join query to do this, but how can I do this by using an ArrayCollection in Flex?
For Example
[code]...
How can i fetch these values from arraycollection in flex? is there in inbuild function or property provided by adobe.
I try to load an swf in my flex 4 project using the following line of code: <mx:SWFLoader id="game_swf" source="demo.swf" complete="init()" /> the demo.swf file is another project i created using flex 4. the problem is that when i run the application i see only the loading bar of the demo.swf flash file and nothing else. if i try to load a different swf file (for a example a game i downloaded), it loads just fine.
