Can I listen to Alert button click between components using AsyncToken?Basically, I want to have a method that opens an Alert with buttons and have it return an AsyncToken so that other components calling that method can listen for button click.

View 1 RepliesI am having an issue where I show an AlertBox message when the user hits ENTER and the focus is in a text area. The pop up works fine, but when the user hits enter the Alert closes as expected, but the TextArea listener receives the ENTER event from the Alert and pops the dialog up again. I have tried a number of ways to catch and eat the event but so far I have not been lucky. Is there way to accomplish this?

View 3 RepliesI have an app where I am looking to make the enter key act like a tab key. I can easily capture the keypress event and setFocus to a textinput field. The problem is figuring out which textinput field to give focus to. I have this code

trace(this.window.focusManager.getNextFocusManagerComponent());
//returns null
//This is what I was hoping would work
this.window.focusManager.getNextFocusManagerComponent().setFocus();
The code is in a controller class and "this.window" references an instance of a nativeWindow mxml file "TheWindow.mxml". The first trace works as expected, but the second one gives null.
Is it possible to change the language of display for the alert buttons. i.e whether YES,NO, CANCEL can be made to be shown in some language other than english? whether it is possible to the change the button's caption of a alert window based on multilingual operation?

View 8 RepliesI have an XML-file.I want to base an menu on my website om this information.Let us say that I have info in the XML-file with the names "About Me", "Articles" and "Video".Then I want three buttons with the text above on them. This is successfully done.The problem is, that I don't know what button I am pressing. To go to the nest page I need to know what button I am pressing.

The result is that all the buttons get the name of the last entry in the XML-file. In the case above all the buttons would get the name "Video".

What is the best way to create buttons to give content a scrolling function.The functionality is provided by ScrollPane, where content, images etc. can be used and scrolled but aesthetically buttons are preferred.There is actionscript for creating scrollable text fields with buttons, but it requires constant clicking and only applies to text. Just mentioning this if there is something similar to attain the functionality of ScrollPane for content.
View 1 RepliesWhat I'm trying to do is create buttons in one swf that load another swf and also give instructions to begin playing from a certain frame in that swf. The target swf has a preloader on frame 1 and then a movie clip that contains a video in frame 2. Depending on which button the user presses the video will be cued up ready to play at different frames. I think it may need an if statement ie if x=34 then goto frame 34, but I can't seem to pass the variables to the loaded swf. In the zip file is an example of what I'm trying to do.

I want to avoid having to specify the width and height every time I want to show an alert, that's why I'd like to set it in the CSS, but does not look like there's a way to.. Something like this does not work:

I have a project in which i need to pop up an alert to the user before a combobox value is changed. This feature is to allow the user to stay in current state if modifications were not saved. Meaning that the user will be able to cancel the change. I have sub classed ComboBox and tried to hook on ITEM_CLICK of ComboBox.dropdown but this event is triggered after the value is changed. Also, I've tried MOUSE_CLICK ans MOUSE_DOWN but without success.
In my code, I have added a "preChange" event to my CustomComboBox. This event should be triggered before a change is made. Also, I've introduced a method called commitChange that will be called manually to actually commit the change.

When I enter incorrect values in the txtother.textbox and focuses out, an alert will be displayed as "Please enter a valid Format Mask." . After pressing the "ok" button in the Alertbox the txtOther.focusout even is triggered again. i.e. immediately after pressing the OK of alert, the same ALERT is displayed again.

I am using Flex 4 and running into some problems displaying a simple alert box. The alert box shows up, but the text seems to be the same color as the background. I know the text is there because if I mouse over in the alert box window to roughly where the text would be, I can see the cursor change. And when I double click and copy-paste into notepad, I can see the message. But the message, the button text, the message box title don't show up.The relevant code in my project is as follows

I'm trying to center the title text on my Alert control. I'm using the following CSS right now:

}
The problem is that the above code centers my alert content as well, not just the title text. What selector do I need to access just the title of the alert control? I'm using the 4.x SDK and Spark.
