What I am trying to do is have a user input his data into multiple textboxes, then once the data is entered it is displayed on the datagrid at runtime. The problem is when I run the app I click my button but no information entered is added to datagrid. My textboxes are also supposed to clear once the button is pressed but again nothing happens. Im struggling adding the the values from a xml to the wright label dynamically... how can I make the connection from the datagrid's dataProvider (a xml doc) to the label and the checkbox? I've added styles to my datagrid text using setStyle and and setRenderStyle. My datagrid fields are set as editable. When you click on the editable text it reverts to a much smaller font. Is there a way to add styles to the input font?
I've been researching for days now and trying to learn as much as i can in regards to DataGrids, DataSets and filtering. What I'm wanting to do, is once I have my information populated into a datagrid, how would i go about filtering the information with an input text box. Not with a drop down, not with a check box, or a radio button but an input text box. In doing it this way, it would allow the user to define by what variable they want to search by.
It would be great if the filtering would search across all of the columns in the field and find everything it needs to regardless of the column its in, but for now, if there are columns set up like this:
I'm trying to extend the text input that comes in flex to support an icon, just like mac os x search text input has a grey circle aligned to the right, the text input has a addChild method, but it didn't work for me.
I need to put together an editable text area that has a custom caret (cursor) which is different from the default blinking vertical line. Is the caret a "skinnable" property of text input? note that I am not asking about the mouse pointer cursor which can be set using the CursorManager.
In Flex Mobile Project, Text Input shows blocks instead of showing arabic text. Labels are working fine with Arabic.
Is there any way to show Arabic text inside text input?

Since, it is for flex mobile project, when I input any text in arabic, it shows separate characters. Arabic is a language that doesn't have separate characters. It should combine letters to form specific word.

Currently i have one input box named input_1 with a variable attached to it named "choc_1".
Also, i have a dynamic text box named dynamic_1 with variable "choc_1".
When the user types something on the input box then the dynamic box changes instantly and displays what the user has written.

The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.

im trying to output my database information in a text input field in flex by using remoteObject(cfc). The information is being provided by a database using a query and an array collection. I'm just unsure how i go about taking the queried array collection information and display it into TextInput Fields.
the last of many problems, is that at the very end of the test, you're shown your score, and you have the option to type your name in a text box and click "save". Doing so will apply you score data (time elapsed, date, correct answers and percentage) along with the name you typed in, and output in a form, that you can save or print off, or whatever. The problem is, the input text box will not let you type in it. If you mouse over it, the mouse stays a pointer, you don't get the text tool. I am using AS3, I have a problem in displaying the datagrid. The Datagrid text not showing behind mask. If i put outside the mask, then the data(text) will appear. How do I display the datagridc text/data inside the mask layer?
I have an AdvancedDataGrid that loads data from a web service. It only loads the top level stuff and then as you click the arrows it gets that data. All I want to do is to find out if some text is in one of the cells. I originally did this:

And then it fails, because it can't get the source, I think. I am completely open to other strategies and I have been stuck on this problem for 10 days now. This seems like it would be relatively easy. I have been going down a slightly different route. I am now trying to iterate through the HierarchicalCollectionView with a cursor. This seems to work. But, when I get the node I can't do anything useful with it... I have been looking for examples but so far they all stop at the point of getting the node.

I created a component that is multiple datagrids side by side that share the same columns (each datagrid is the same as the one before but with different data).ProblemThe header text only shows up on the last datagrid. I'm having some issues aligning the header text of a datagrid. I'm using an embed font for the header text, and when applying the css, the header text behaves as if I'd set the text vertical align to top. I'm trying to vertically center the text, but haven't found a way to make it work.
