i am developing an application where client can add his photos to appear on a sphere or ball or coffee cup and able to save them and give it for printing using flex. like itasveer.com site. i tried to use away3D but if the image is small it is stretched and added to sphere. i dont want it to strech instead the original image shud appear on the sphere. if it is added to cup it shud cover only the circular part it shud not add this to top and bottom.
I want to create a 3D cylinder, sphere, cone using Actionscript for Flash Player 10. Is there any available class? I also want to know how to paint gradient, wrap text and texture around them. It would be nice if these class have these functions. I can't use non DisplayObject in this project so PV3D is not an option
I am a newbie to Papervision. I want to design a sphere with 8 holes around one of its diameters. How do I do it? How do I draw anything on a sphere in Papervision?
<?php error_reporting(E_ALL | E_STRICT); //error reporting, not needed require_once "Zend/Amf/Server.php"; //the zendAMF server require_once "process.php"; //our test class
I am building an application using Flex 4.5 and Zend_AMF as my AMF endpoint.I would like to map a class called CRequest in PHP to a class called Request in Flex.This is my php class:
If I've got a bunch of plain old Objects, what's the best way to map them to a bunch of Classes?For example, if I use an HTTPService to pull in some JSON, then deserialize it, I'll have a bunch of objects which look like:
{ type: "person", id: 42, name: "David" }
And I want to turn them into instances of a Person class:
class Person { id:int; name:String; }
(also to be considered: how about some standard way of dealing with relationships between objects? For example, if the Person had an additional "spouse" field:
{ type: "person", spouse: 61, ... } // Where 61 is the ID of the spouse )
I'll try to focus on the problem which takes place in a whole system.To sum up, I have 2 entities (MySQL) :
create table AAA ( id_AAA int not null auto_increment, id_BBB int,
[code]....
I retrieve all my BBB, they are mapped from PHP classes (generated by Propel) to AS3 classes on the Flex side.But when I create a AAA row in the database.I retrieve all my BBB, and all objects are mapped EXCEPT the BBB whose id corresponds to the foreign key in the inserted AAA row.
if you know anything about how AMFPHP / Propel / Flex are dealing with Foreign Keys and why class mapping is failing right here.The weird thing is that it seems to happen only for this specific case ...
I have an issue when consuming a web service from a Flex app. In the backend I have a hierarchy, let's say I have an abstract class Fruit, and 2 implementations: Apple and Orange. Fruit has a property, name, Apple has a property color, and Orange has a property radius. Then, I have a service wich returns a collection of Fruit. When I consume it from Flex, this collection returns objects wich type are Fruit, with its name property; but I lose all the properties for the implementation classes (color nor radius). So, the question is, does Flex support inheritance mapping when using web services? If not, is there any workarround?
I'm looking to create a Flash Map with multiple zoom levels. Ideally what I'd like is to be able to click onto a 'state' area, and then have the map zoom down to a sub-area (which can then either have a link or zoom down to yet another sub-area). Ideally I would like to be able to define sub-areas recursively (e.g. state area, region area, town area etc.) on an infinite level, but 2 levels should suffice. I found several solutions on Flash Den, however they can only handle 1 level. Does anyone know of any Flex/Flash libraries or frameworks which are capable of doing this? Alternately, does anyone know if this would be possible with Google Maps/KML? I already have vector outlines of the areas I would like to use in Flash.
difference between key code and character code. For example, the number 1 (one) and the character ! (bang) both have the same key code but different character codes. Likewise, the number 7 from the row of numbers and the number 7 from the numpad have different key codes but the same character codes.
I'm programming a music rhythm game in Adobe Flex and would like to bind keyboard keys. This isn't a problem, but I certainly would have a problem, say, setting the default keys to A, S, D, and F and telling the user that this is the case.If you take a look at the documentation for flash.ui.Keyboard, you'll see that there are constants for keyboard keys to key codes. However, these are only available in Adobe AIR and not the browser. This makes sense since not all operating systems and keyboards are alike (or present!), so key codes can vary.
So, how can I assign default keys that have meaning instead of picking key codes and praying?My only sane thought is to store the character codes for the key bindings and then provide an character code to String mapping so I can tell the user what to press. However, my gut tells me that this will break in subtle or not-so-subtle ways. Like CAPSLOCK.
I have drawings (arrays of points with x and y coordinates) that are rotated in 3d space: [URL]
As it is now, the drawing looks as if wrapped around a cube, with a nasty 90° degree in the corner. Instead it should look as if it were wrapped around a cylinder. Before starting the rotation I call a function (in ActionScript) 'bendDrawing' that for each point sets an initial z-value:
for (var j = 0; j < numPoints; j++ ) { // drawings are centered - points left of center are < 0 var distFromCenter = Math.abs(shape[i].points[j].x);
I would like to combine bitmaps to one texture and apply it to a cylindric primitive. The cylinder will be rotating or better: the texture should moving along the cylindric-surface and therefor you should see only one (up to 3 textures at the same time). For better understanding: it's my intention to create somehow a poster-pillow with a undefined number of posters on it. By clicking on the pillow, it should rotate to the next poster but you will see always parts of the previous/next poster.
My question is: How can I load the texture dynamically but also how to combine, load/unload posters on the run ?
I want to create a cylinder, but with different sides (front and back). At the minute I have a mc on the stage and link in that as the material, but it repeats that all over the cylinder?
I'm having two problems. First of all, the gallery loads all pictures at once. The more pictures in the XML file, the slower they all load. Secondly, I wanted the pictures to scroll in its _y coordinate, similar to Sugar Rhyme's website portfolio (see url]...).
- interface where a user can choose a font (from pre determined font sets) and input a text string
- This text is then displayed engraved on a ring (jewellery)
I'm not sure the best way to achieve this or if there is a module somewhere that does similar.
My best guess would be to
- using mathematics (sin, cos) to be able to plot the oval (where the text need to be displayed on the ring) on an imaginary graph.
- From here there will be a centre , start and end point. The text will need to be limited as it will eventually following the curve of the ring until it can't be see as it is masked by the angle of the ring
- If using dynamic font then the width of each letter should be possible to obtain with AS. Then mathematically it should be possible to determine how far away from the centre point on the oval each letter is.
- Following this, dependant on the letters distance from the centre, transformations can be applied to each letter. IE stretch, skew and an emboss filter via the convolution filter.
- Hence this will provide the illusion that the text is following the curve of the ring and the look like it is engraved via the emboss.
I tried with AS2 to animate the movement of a cylinder going non stop up and down and with possibility to change speed. I managed the sliding down and the acceleration of the cylinder but it does not recognize the limit where it has to stop and make the movement backwards to starting position.[code]
I have designed a cylinder shape in flash. The edges of cylinders are coming out and also they are looking blur. But the interesting thing is when I see the cylinder on 300% it is clear and lines are not blurred.
[URL] Take a look at that website. See whe you rollover one of the pictures, the other pictures fade out...Well how can I do that? I've tried some swapDepths techniques but it gets a bit confusing.
I've imported the correct folder in my Edit->Prefences->ActionScript 3.0 settings. I've instantiated an object and it compiles, and I'm not getting any errors but, nothing shows up on the screen.
I'm doing 3d gallery in AS3 and i have run in to huge problem. After ActionScript creates 3d sphere it doesnt go away no mater if i go forward or backwards in timeline.
I have a button in a flex project and I want to add the picture inside the tooltip of the button, I try to extends ToolTipBorder and then use the borderSkin, however, it did not work.
I am making a splash screen for a program and I have a picture in my head of a spinning sphere with pictures on it.I've already made my sphere and mapped my design onto the sphere in illustrator, although it is not as clear as I wanted.How do i get the sphere into flash and animate it to spin continuously?
How would you do it? Or, else, how would you create a world? I.e. what I need is to place the sphere in the way the distance form the camera to it's center is less then the sphere's radius.
i'm trying to achieve the effect of a rotating sphere given a regular 2D texture. the best thing i've seen is a tutorial on emanueleferonato.com which gives this result: emanueleferonato dot com /downloads/mapping09.swf as you can see, it works pretty well when you're moving left/right OR up/down. it fails to simulate realistic rolling when going in any diagonals (since it's a very simplistic illusion). how to render such a sphere given any point on a mercator projection and then have the sphere rotate in an arbitrary (but fixed) direction? this is a bit advanced math stuff.
btw, if anyone's interested, i figured a better displacement map than what is used in the link i showed
i started my search again and immediately bumped into this: [URL] it's library called BitmapSphere and it does exactly what i need it to! also, could admin edit this and put together the link or something? i find it highly annoying that i need 50 posts before being able to post a link
The basic concept: I want to at runtime overlay (or paste or whatever) one bitmap image asset onto another. The original image asset is a texture on a 3d sphere.Example:3D Sphere with earth texture applied to it. Put a cloud on the earth texture and have cloud move along the earth.
Caveats:Can't use any composite materials because I take a serious perf hit. Want to try working only with bitmaps to see if it is faster.I've gotten this far but don't know how to fill rectangle with jpeg file and certainly have no idea where to go from here..earthBitmap= new BitmapData( 256, 256, true); fillRect will only do a color ... I need what fills a rect with jpeg image and how to edit a bitmap on the fly.
The effect I would like to achieve is when the plane around the sphere is clicked, the sphere rotates so that the plane is in the middle of the stage. but there always some problems when i clicked the plane the sphere seems like never rotate to it's back.[code]
