Here is what I want to do: Take an object that has a bunch of properties set and possibly holds other objects in it, and serialize it or somehow save it to a file using the File class. Reversing the process is also necessary. I know about SharedObject, but I do not get the ability to dynamically change the save/load location as in the File class. Is this possible with FMS, and if so, what is the procedure? If it is not possible, then what options do I have to achieve the same goals? I have read the SSLR and searched for a solution but do not seem to see any means to do this.
I was trying to do an animation where people can move object around and save. then other people, with different computers, can see the last modifications.I was thinking using the sharingObject remote, but does it work with all servers?I read I need a special one, flash development server or something.So, I had the idea to make a script that save the position of the objects to a file and realoading the animation it loads the variables from that file
I'm creating an air application that allows the user to create, edit and save Objects in files. I'm trying to implement a "Save on Close" prompt if the user hasn't saved her changes to the object before closing.Let's say I have a Class called MyClass marked as Bindable that is composed of fields, each exposing a getter and setter. Some of these fields are ArrayCollections of custom Classes. I want to consider a change a change to any of the fields, or any of the fields in any of the objects in any of the array collections the parent object is made up of.
I could manually dispatch an event anytime a setter is called on the MyClass object and manage this all manually, but I'd also have to do it in a bunch of places in the application logic, for instance when the user changes one of the custom objects in one of the array collections that comprises it. This is a fine solution, but a little dirty and hard to maintain. I could also check the current object against a copy I made at the time of start up or last save, but I don't like the idea of doubling my memory footprint just for this.
there was some event, perhaps an event that the binding broadcasts, that I could listen for in one place and manage my "Saved" variable. Does such a thing exist? I tried listening for the dataChange event that binding apparently dispatches, but I either did it wrong, or it doesn't do what I think it should.
I'm using the native Flash StyleSheet Object to hold externally loaded CSS styles, and when I run the the getStyle("myStyle") function of the StyleSheet Object, it returns an Object in all cases, even when the style doesn't exist!
In cases where no style is found on the StyleSheet, the ASDocs say that the getStyle() function should return null. So if "notAStyle" is not a style on the StyleSheet, and I test[code]...
I was wondering if this can be done? I want to format my content that's in an XML file, being loaded to a dynamic text box using AS3? I've been trying to do this and find any information on the this task. When I put everything together the XML file shows up in the dynamic text box without any styles being applied to it. (As if its ignoring it.)
Code: var cssLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); var cssRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("content.css");
I have a NavigatorContent which is displayed when the user selects an item in a DataGrid. This NavigatorContent contains a form and an accordion displaying the related objects.
When the user presses the Save button in the NavigatorContent the form and the children should be saved to the database by calling the server through BlazeDS:
saveObjectToDB() { //Map the form values to the object object.field1 = object_field1.text;
[Code]....
The object that i pass to the accordion children is public and [Bindable] in the NavigatorContent and in the accordion children and is initially passed from the main DataGrid. May this be a problem relating to this issue?
I am trying to save jpg files to my applicationStorageDirectory with custom names.
var filename:String = "visitorimage.jpg"; var file:File = File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath( filename ); var wr:File = new File( file.nativePath );
[Code]....
The image is saved but i need to give the image dynamic name say using a timestamp or random number.
I have successfully loaded external xml file into flash AS 3.0. Now i need to format the xml file using the eXtensible stylesheet language (xsl) how to format the xml using xsl.
I am having trouble attaching an external stylesheet to a dynamic text file in flash. Details: Instance name: my_txt Variable name: storyText Flash 8 | ActionScript 2.0 inside the text file: storyText=This is my is my text here....
Latest code that I am using: function textLoader() { myData = new LoadVars(); myData.onLoad = function() { my_txt.html = true; [Code] .....
I've implemented a PDF generation function in my flex app using alivePDF, and I'm wondering if the process I've used to get the file to the user creates an XSS vulnerability.This is the process I'm currently using:Create the PDF in the flex application.Send the binary PDF file to the server using a POST, along with the filename to deliver it as.An ASP.NET script on the server checks the filename to make sure it's valid, and then sends it back to the user as an HTTP attachment.
is there a way to save, not save as, from an online flex app onto someone's local machine?asically, if a user opens a file local to their machine in an online flex app, is there a way to allow them to save it locally without going through dialog boxes and picking file names?
I will have a list of links to PDF documents in my Flex web app.What I want to do is that upon clicking some button, open SAVE AS dialog for some pdf from the URL list and download it to disk.What I want to avoid is viewing PDF in browser.ALL I know is that flash.net.FileReference will take raw data but no links.
I need the user of my Flex application to be able to save a snapshot of part of the UI to a local jpg file. I got the screenshot part down - can generate an image out of any given control. However, the only way I see to let the user save the image locally is to send to my server which would return it with the appropriate Content-Disposition.
How do we save file locally in Flash (ActionScript 3) without displaying dialog. I know we can use the following code to save file locally but it prompts Save dialog. I don't want this dialog while saving file locally.
I'm using Filereference.save() to save a XML file. It's working fine with default filename.But is there a way to force a file extension on the saved file? I'm using "untitled.xml" as the default filename, but if the user changes it to say "myfile", it gets saved as "myfile", rather than "myfile.xml".
I wrote these functions which I use in conjunction to scale down some BitmapData and save it as a PNG. However, the scaledImage.draw(originalImage, scalingMatrix, null, null, null, true); line with smoothing set to true does not have the intended smoothing effect when I save the bitmap data as a PNG using the second function. The resulting image file is not antialiased at all. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here?
public static function scaleImage(originalImage:BitmapData, size:int):BitmapData { // Calculate the scaled size.
We have a Web login feature. We will offer Free calls to a large campaign.
Scenarios:
Because of free calls, we will offer a unique file to be downloaded and stored After a week or month we will call them and offer them our desktop application to scan and see how trusted, the user is If we dont find the same file again, we will never start business and more our own statistics Based on that report we want to do some follow ups campaign We can do this with cookies but we want user experience and trust analysis
Example: if you play a music in youtube.com, without notice your file is actually in /tmp/Flash....flv with lot of data on it.
Question: How can i do the similar using Flex/Flash from the web browser ?
Instead of doing it this way I want to define all the styles in a style sheet. I then want to define my slider in a .as file (not an mxml file) and apply the stylesheet to it. Something like the following is what I'm after
levelSlider= new VSlider() levelSlider.minimum=0; levelSlider.maximum=1; levelSlider.value=1; levelSlider.y=150 levelSlider.styleName="sliderStyle.css" this.addChild(levelSlider)
I'm having some trouble getting around a security restriction of flex. Saving a file is apparently an action that can only be invoked upon user interaction. The problem is that after my user clicks on the save button, I need to perform a database query to get the data for the file I want to save.
Because Flex works asynchronous, I have to make the database call and then catch the ResultEvent in a different function. In that function, I no longer have the user's mouseclick event. How am I then supposed to save this file?
I imported two projects in Flex Builder 3 (A and B). Those two projects A and B are in the same folder and in mxml file which is located in A/src I have
<mx:Style source="../../B/b/assets/b.css" />
this relative path is correct, but Flex Builder keeps showing message: "Problem finding external stylesheet: ../../B/b/assets/b.css"
What am I doing wrong? Btw, I am newbie in flex, so,
