Flex :: Scrollbar On Dynamically Rendered Component?

I'm trying to display a custom component i made inside a panel but when it renders the content is displayed outside of the panel box and there's no scrollbar.a panelan instance of myComponent inside the panela button that calls a method on myComponent that adds some controls into itWhen i run the application and press the button the following is displayed:See that the controls added dynamically in myComponent get over the panel's bottom line instead of showing only the visible part of the component and a scrollbar.

I have been stuck on this for far too long. I think it's simple so I must be misunderstanding something. I want these to display across the full width of my flash app. When I shrink the width of the flash player I want a scrollbar to appear. At the moment no scroll bar is appearing.

This is the setup. I have created a timeline with a playhead. When my playhead is dragged I would like the timeline to scroll with the drag.
So far, the only way I can do this is by setting clipAndEnableScrolling to true. But in this case I lose the scrollbars(not to mention the impact on my view). So what I would like is to set this property to false and dynamically affect the horizontal scrollbar's position, in other words enable scrolling without the clipping.

I'm pretty sure my dynamic mxml layout must give me two scrollbars (horizontal and vertical) but it only shows vertical one.

I am trying to increase the height of container with increase in the number of contents inside the container. Like in my case i m using tileList inside tabNavigator , when I put contents inside the tileList, the height of tileList does not increase beyond vertical height of the viewport. It puts scrollbar on the container. I want to increase the height of an flex container with increase in the contents and introduce scrollbar on the browser with increase in contents in the flex container.

I want to dynamically add component in Container like Canvas(TileList constraints each child has the same size, GridList is poor in performance), for example

I need a List that resizes to exactly fit its content, unless that height exceeds its (dynamically sized) parent container. My requirements are as follows:
The component extends List, or at least acts similarly. variableRowHeight and wordWrap both equal to true. The height of the list cannot be less than minHeight (roughly 32px for scrollbar arrows). The height of the list cannot be greater than the height of the parent container .
Note that the parent container can be resized dynamically.
The height of the list should be updated as the size of both the contents and parent container changes.
Live updating would be preferable but not necessary.
There should be no scrollbars if the content height is less than the parent container height (sounds obvious, but I've had trouble with this too).
The trouble is that with variableRowHeight and wordWrap, it's very hard to know the size of the content at any given time. If the parent container's width is reduced, a line wrap may occur in the list which will change the height of the content. I know I can measure the height of the list content using measureHeightOfItems() + viewMetrics.top + viewMetrics.bottom, but when should I calculate that? What events should I listen for? And the thing I've had the most trouble with - when should I calculate it to set the size initially (i.e. just as the content has finished populating)?

i have a problem using the itemRenderer functionality. When using an ArrayCollection the visible Data in the DataGrid using the itemRenderer will be rendered just fine. But if i start scrolling the entries are repeating in the cells using the renderer. The cells are not filled with date according to the id. What mistake i'm doing here.
I read a lot of the explainations like:

I have a several chart components that I have created in Flex. Basically I have set up a special UI that allows the user to select which of these charts they want to print. When they press the print button each of the selected charts is created dynamically then added to a container. Then I send this container off to FlexPrintJob.
i.e.

I have seen some examples on the adobe site that add the container to the application but don't include it in the layout. This looks like the way to go.

I have a custom component which contains many promptingTextInput controls. When i click a button, I want the text field of all the promptingTextInputs to become blank. I realized that if I do addChild, I can't really see the dynamically added component, since flex did not reserve space for my List to display. So I do parentDocument.addChild, and then it appears no problem. My question is since it's being added in the parentDocument, so it is suppose to be a component belong to parentDocument, so is that component still be able to call this handleMouseDown? From my experience, it's still able to, but which doesn't make sense to me. Can someone explain a little about why it can still work, or any better approach other than parentDocument.addChild

I have a datgrid with two inline item renderers. The dataprovider for my DG is a nested object (objects within objects within objects i.e 3-layered). Main Object - 1st Level

I use 2 item renderers (one for each datagrid column) which loops thro the 2nd level object1 and 2 respectively (the 2nd level object is a dynamic array of objects, in that the number of objects within keep changing). Within the item renderer I loop thro the 2nd level object using a foreach and then display the data. The data is a linkbutton, which when clicked , calls a remote object function to delete the data from the database
now on the result event of the remote object function call, i call the function to repopulate the DG, so that the updated data is displayed. When i click on the linkbutton in the first row, the backend works perfectly fine (the data gets deleted from the database and the refreshed data is sent back), but for some reason, the deleted data suddenly appears in the 2nd row. When i delete it from the second row, it appears on the 3rd row (nothing happens in the backend since the data is already deleted).. and so on, till it appears on the last row and then the DG looks exactly the way it shld have looked after the first delete.
This is just the beginning. The second item renderer also displays a linkbutton, which when clicked, displays that data in the previous column (the one where this data can be deleted). When i click on 1st row, the data gets added in the previous column of the second row. and so on.. Basically, my DG is acting really weird. I overrided the set data function in the item renderer to refrsh the data and called its invalidateDisplayList. I also call the Datagrid's invalidateDisplayList function after each refresh. The behavior remains the same.

I am looking for an event which is fired (if any) after a chart is rendered (visible in UI) in Flash, we are using Flex SDK 3.0. We have to capture the screenshot after the chart is rendered, current implementation adds a huge delay in update_complete event callback, this is slowing down the whole job of generating images. I tried to use EXIT_FRAME event, but this doesn't seem to serve the purpose.

In the AdvancedDataGrid shown bellow I have one groupingField as one can see. I would like to have the ability to click in a record (letīs say the 26/01/2011 - Pag.) and right bellow it to have some action buttons.

I've been using a scrollbar/scrollpane component to create scrollable timelines for use in court cases. However these components interfere with printing, I imagine because the content needs to be attached from the library and so the printJob function seems not to see the scrolling content.
