Jan 4, 2010My problem is that empy rows (if there are more rows that dataSource items then there are empy rows) look identical to rows binded to dataSource items which are empy (see the difference?). The only way to know the difference is to hover over them with the mouse, and if they are empty there's no color change, otherwise there's the blue background of the selection.. I want to change the color or in some way hide empty rows, those that are not bound to a dataSource item.

I was able to set the selectionColor just fine but the border is still the default light blue color. I need it to be yellow.
Anyone know where I can find this style or override this border that is being set when selection happens within the skin itself.

Flex :: Disable Roll-over Color For List Or DataGrid Components
Feb 24, 2010I want to get rid of the typical Flex roll-over color in list-based components, and to display my own style of roll-over rendering. Setting useRollOver to 'false' is not an option, since disabling that will also make the List.isItemHighlighted() function to always return false. My custom renderer relies on that function. Can it be so hard? Is there no way of setting that roll-over color to transparent? Is there some other way for my renderer to figure out if an item is highlighted?

Once they do that, I want to change the upSkin color for that row.But it seems like all I can do is specify a CellRenderer Class for the column, not for the row. Mar 15, 2010I am working on a problem since a week soon, but I still couldn't make it work as expected. I have a DataGrid which has HBox with a CheckBox an a Label as itemRenderer (see Code below). When I tap in to the Cell the standard itemEditor pops up and lets you enter the content of the label. Thats the standard behavior. I works fine except for 2 problems:
If I enter to much text, the horizontal srollbar pops up, and the cell is filled with that scrollbar. As you see I tried to set the horizontalScrollPolicy to off, but that doesnt work at all... I tried to do that for all the different elements, but the failure is still existent. When I have filled more than one row, there is an other mistake happening. If I tap on a row, the datagrid selects the one below that row. That's only if one line is already selected. If I tap outside the datagrid and then, tap at any row the itemEditor of the right row will show up... Is there anything now wright in the setup of my set data method?

May 28, 2009and just as many of you I'm migrating from AS2 to AS3. So far I had absolutely no issues with the migration due to the fantastic easy to understand tutorials around the web. That until I found my nemesis: as3 components Well here is the deal:I'm trying to make a datagrid that will display a list of online players in a game. This list have to have their names in different colors (gold and white).Upon mouse roll over they go on a "light green" color (JUST the text) and return to their regular state on mouse out.It used to be easy on AS2 since I had access to specific tutorials about that, but now on AS3 I feel completely lost.I've managed to get the text colors by a code I found that sorta "cheats" by replacing an inhibit class inside the datagrid forcing it to accept html code. This is what I've got so far (the code has been simplified for better understanding):

ActionScript 3.0 :: DataGrid Locked Rows Background Color?
Sep 18, 2009I've got a reporting system that uses Flex Visualization charts for the GUI. The first row of a report is the header and the second is a summary row that sums all the data in that column for the data rows. The summary row is locked so that when you scroll down it stays at the top. In Flex 2.X I was able to change the background color of this locked summary row by overriding drawRowBackground and setting the color for the row with index 0. I upgraded to Flex 3.4 and now this no longer works. It appears to iterate over lockedRows separate from other rows, so drawRowBackground is called with a row index of 0 twice and the first data row ends up getting colored.
How are you supposed to change the background color of lockedRows in 3.4, or am I misusing this component and there is another way to achieve my goal here?

Jul 31, 2009For poor performance reasons, the DataGrid will cache checkboxes and reuse them for different rows. If you have 50 rows, it won't create 50 checkboxes. It will create as many checkboxes at are visible, plus a few more for padding, and then reuse them as you scroll. This is why you need to explicitly manage their state. How can improve it ? How can fixed checkbox value ? i used checkbox like below But checkbox doesnot remembering the values

Flash Datagrid Change Cell Color Depending Upon Updated Data
Apr 27, 2011I have a datagrid in my Flash app whose data keeps updating quite frequently.On every update, I need to change the cell color of only those cells whose data has changed.That too, if the updated value is less than the older value then the cell color should change to RED else, GREEN.I have tried using labelFunction, cellrenderer, etc. But to no avail.By no means, I am able to access the present data in the cells to compare it with the new data.
