I am new to flex development.[code]what happens here is that, the part of the panel goes out of the browser view and I need to include scrollbars so that I can scroll to the right end and bottom end of the panel itself.
View 2 RepliesFriends, I am developing a control panel for a web hosting company, I am considering using Adobe Flex 4 (Adobe Flash Builder), but I'm afraid that the staff are no longer using more flash in computers, especially with the growth of ipad, iphone without flash.
This panel will be used by enterprise customers to manage their products.
Do you think that the flash actually has a future? think it is reliable to use flash in such an application?
I have been stuck on this for far too long. I think it's simple so I must be misunderstanding something. I want these to display across the full width of my flash app. When I shrink the width of the flash player I want a scrollbar to appear. At the moment no scroll bar is appearing.

My action panel windows has resized itself taller than my screen, there is no scrollbar so I cant see what I typed and I cant move the window up to be able to drag the size. Basically its unusable, restarting CS3 is no luck and I cant find any setting preferences for it.

I want a panel that scrolls for ever in both directions and it also needs to be controlled via two arrow buttons not a mouse over type scroller. I would also like to animate with Tweens in action script to get a nice smooth scroll.I know some as3 but I can't work out how to make the scroller repeatedly scroll in both directions.

I am designing my first simple website with Adobe Flash, and I have run into a problem. When I do publish preview, I notice that no scrollbar appears in the browser; therefore, only part of my content is shown. How can I create a scrollbar in Flash so that when someone views my webpage they will be able to scroll down and view all of the content on the page?

I created a list using xml, which when clicked would display the appropriate information. Everything is working fine, except I can't get the hand cursor to appear over the list and I need to create a scrollbar for the list. I'm having difficulty with both, it seems as I'm dealing with textfield. I tried numerous solutions to the hand cursor problem but it didn't work.[code]
View 5 RepliesCreating a dynamic scroll panel using two objects from my library and accessing images from a folder using some basic XML. The ScrollPanel loads fine, the 6 instances of the empty movieclip holders load. The function that traces the instance of the movieClip names is working. My trouble is accessing the instances of the movies to load the loaders in order to view the jpgs called from the folder. I receive an "access of undefined property" message if I type thumbLoad0.addChild(pic1ldr); etc, which you will see at the very bottom.

View 3 RepliesI try to load an swf in my flex 4 project using the following line of code: <mx:SWFLoader id="game_swf" source="demo.swf" complete="init()" /> the demo.swf file is another project i created using flex 4. the problem is that when i run the application i see only the loading bar of the demo.swf flash file and nothing else. if i try to load a different swf file (for a example a game i downloaded), it loads just fine.

However, when I first launched the software I am getting the following error: The following panel layout is missing or could not be read: /users/rob/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Workspace/Essentials.xml The application will not have a correct layout. load one from Windows ->Workspace Once past this message none of the panels load.

This does not happen with the mx Panel.unning Flex 4.1 on Windows 7I tried putting mx and spark controls in the spark Panel, and they both appear outside of the boundaries. Note this doesn't happen with the mx Panel. What am I missing to make the spark behave like the mxSample Code:

I've traced the PopUpManager, but I didn't find any available interfaces or events about popup window's moving, I think it's design shouldn't be so bad.
Does anyone knows of a way to get the output panel in flash or the console panel in flex builder or flash builder, to format the "traces" with html or any thing else? for example:

I have basic movie clips, On roll over, show arrows [NEXT, PREVIOUS] on movie clip [they then show other images inside movie clips]I can show arrows on roll over.But when i roll over the arrows the main ROLLOUT function gets called, the arrows hide. I've tried several flagging methods and have resulted in using a larger invisible border around the clip, rolling over that hides them.

The first time I change from state A to B it doesn't play the transition. After the first transition, the same state change does play the transition.
Before I let state B load, it parses an xml file and maps it to objects. When this is done, the state changes. Maybe it has to do with the parsing of the xml. But I can confirm that parsing is done, before it changes the state.[code]...
I would like to know what is the more practical way to embed many images using actionscript. Firstly, I don't want to download an image every time from the server, and then I would like to change the number of images and/or their names. What do you propose for these requirements? I have been alerted for the Embed tag but it seems a little inconvenient in its use as you have to declare a new class for each asset and instantiate the class separately.

I need to be able to find the name of the selected item when it is clicked in the tree.
For example:

The tags are all predefnied by me so I will know what they are, but I need to be able to know if the item a user has selected is "Object" and do something, or if they select "Action" do something else.
What is the syntax to get the names of these in flex4 and compare them?

In the SWF project, I added this information in mxmlc compiler : -theme theme/DefaultTheme.swc. My problem is : how to build SWC projet (theme) with HostComponent[xx] is external ?
