Actionscript 3 :: Directly Upload Video Captured From Webcam?

Aug 3, 2011

I'm working on a site, which needs to have a feature of users capturing their opinions about a specific topic with their webcam, and uploading them to the server. After a short research, and viewing similar questions like this one I ran out of possibilities:

I cannot use Flash Media Server (out of budget) I cannot use Red5, as the server where the app will be hosted is not able to build or install it. (our server guy told me that Red5 was last updated in 2007, and he got some errors which I include below (in case that someone would have an idea how to fix it) )

red5 install errors:

xxyyzz@zzyyxx ~/red5 $ sh red5.sh
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/red5/server/Standalone

I was wondering if it's possible to write a file upload component in Flash instead of Silverlight, since the former is installed almost everywere. I've never programmed in Action Script but I have a solid background in C# so that must not be hard.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Using A PHP Upload To Upload Files To Server?

Nov 8, 2011

I am using a PHP upload to upload files to server. I have a loop for the 5 files to upload....

ActionScript Code:
if (PDFFiles[i] != false){
PDFFiles[i].upload(uploadPHP);
}

As the loop runs quicker than PHP can upload, the success of....

ActionScript Code:
function fileUploaded(e:DataEvent):void {
trace "Success"}

....can get out of synch. It doesn't cause me any real problems but is this bad form? Or am I better to upload one file the wait for the PHP to return success before uploading the next one?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Save PNG Directly To A File Server?

Aug 29, 2010

i've seen a few good examples to save out a png of the current flash display area from a webbrowser from a flash, such as:[URL]what they normally do is stream the image data through a png encoder to a web server somewhere and then decode the data back to current webbrowser and then trigger the web brower SAVE function, like a download, then you can choose where to save the file and the name of the file.However, what i like to have is when you click that save button, you can save your png image directly to a certain location with a fixed file name, such as on your local computer:D:flashimage01.pngor a file server: 10.21.111.111flashimage01.png

Media Server :: Upload My Pre Recorded Flash Clips To The Server?

Mar 11, 2010

I now have a Windows PC and I purchase Adobe Flash Media Server 3.5 software and install.I but server space on a managed server arrangement.I upload my pre recorded Flash clips to the server and my website and playlist to my host. Basically the website is channelled via http and the clips via RTMP. The key question that no one inside Adobe seems to be able to grasp (or answer) is ~ will it work if I stream my own clips?! or is it inferior to say that of a professional streaming company.The streaming companies charge anything from $125 to $250 a month, a big cost for someone like me, streaming around 1000mb a month. So does anyone out there have direct knowledge of this software and can you stream via rented server space without using a streaming company?

Media Server :: Subscribing To A Directly Published Stream?

Jul 23, 2011

In the article there : http:[url]...We can see this under 'User lookup'.RTMFP assigns a peer ID to each participant. These peer IDs are 256 bits long and are non-forgeable. When you want to subscribe to a directly published stream, you must specify the publisher's peer ID:

#var receiveStream:NetStream = new NetStream(netConnection, id_of_publishing_client); receiveStream.play("media"); In another thread, Michael said : i believe the problem is that you are attempting to make a P2P connection to the server's peer ID; that is, something like"
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(netConnection, netConnection.farID);
   ns.play(...);

under the covers, this will open a new RTMFP flow to the server that will appear to the server as a new incoming client, but the initial handshake will be incorrect (the first/only command message is "play" instead of "connect").i see this on Cirrus all the time.Is it an error in the article or is it right considering the scenario?

Flex :: Upload - Adobe Flex Mobile Selecting Image From Camera Roll Or Taking Picture Restarts The Application

Jan 19, 2012

I have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.
