Ios :: Creating An AIR Native Extension From The Facebook Sdk?
Nov 18, 2011
I'm looking into creating an ANE for the facebook ios SDK, just wanted to find out on here whether anyone has already done this / is close to releasing an ANE already ?
I am trying to use the IOS in-app native extension, which is found at [URL], and I have linked the SWC with my flash project... The problem I am having is that all of the usage code talks about integrating with a Flex project rather then an FLA - does anyone know if it is possible to port this extension for use with a flash project?
If ExtensionDll.dll uses the functions in the other Dll, the extension won't load. DllMain is not called. It seems like DllUsedByExtensionDll. dll is not in the Dll search path when the air application uses the extension is running. How should I make the application find the extra Dlls, if I don't want to put them into some common Dll path?
I am writing an extension that will allow a Flex application to access Android's native image picker. I am able to launch the image picker activity without issue, but after it returns to the caller, which is an FREFunction object, onActivityResult is not called. Because of this, I am unable to figure out what image the user has chosen.
When I use the exact same contents of the FREFunction in a native Android app, The app works fine, and I am able to retrieve the URI of the chosen image in onActivityResult. How can I get onActivityResult to fire, or at least retrieve the information returned by the image picker activity?
i have an error that i dont understand why appear, the most weird is that happens sometimes but lately happens always, the code that i use is the same and i dont have make any changes to it, in fact i dont execute any code in the start of the application, i use buttons , so i dont get a reason with this error please help me, the error is a dialog that say:Native extension Error: there are packaging errors/warning. Check each native extension in the Flex Build Packaging Page for each target platform. would you like to continue? And when i click yes the program dont start, the debbuger show me the line:
Is it possible to return a struct from your native code? It's relatively straight forward to return an int or a boolean but how do you return a more complex struct back to the actionscript?
My issue is when I try to compile my .ipa using the adt tool (through Terminal) I get the following error:
ld: absolute addressing (perhaps -mdynamic-no-pic) used in -[MediaCaptureViewController showCamera] from /var/folders/NP/NPNiEhuUEwGiPRg0Bym7Sk+++TI/-Tmp-/97f7f1f9-6d5e-4486-9ba0- 147ff50f7157/libcom.luxson.mediacapture.a(MediaCaptureViewController.o) not allowed in slidable image. Use '-read_only_relocs suppress' to enable text relocs Compilation failed while executing : ld64
The iOS native extension pops up an instance of the UIImagePickerController and it works apart from the following line of code, which causes the above adt error:
I am working on a native extension for Flash. I am going to invoke my native methods from Flash and pass Dictionary objects where those objects have various data members of various data types. These property types are dynamic and might not be known at compile time.So I found that we have a method called FREGetObjectProperty that says it can return the value given the property name. But in this case since we dont know the property name since it is dynamic, how to extract the property names and values from the Dictionary objects?

I am developing application with Adobe Flex on AIR platform. Using native extension for Android, it is possible to send SMS from my Flex application. Would it also be possible to receive SMS with my application (receive Broadcast carrying information about incoming SMS)? More generally, is it possible to receive Android Broadcasts in my Flex application?
Recently I came across a long and details blog post or tutorial about creating a music player for air on android, but the audio management was with a native extension.I didn't bookmark it, I have searched quite a bit and I just cant find it again!!!It was only 2 or 3 weeks ago.
I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):
i am currently working on a facebook game and i have a problem concerning the integration of a life counter which regenerates over time for a facebook game. The game is a simple Flash/AS3 shooter in which users are competing for the highest score. For monetary reasons every game costs one life and users should only be able to start a new game, if said life counter is >=1. To clear things up, i submitted a link to Popcap's facebook game "Zuma Blitz": ZUMA Blitz I can think of a few ways to do this, but i don't know which is the best/easiest approach. Would it be best to:

I've had an issue with using Facebook's Share feature.
The user experience on the shared content below is just completely unclear (even when I tested some clarified language: e.g. "click here"). Users simply don't know what to do: they often either click "Like," or they comment with something along the lines of "I support you."
According to the documentation, it is possible to share Flash content in these posts. I'm hoping I can create a "Support" button as an SWF button.
Is it possible to dynamically create such an SWF with a custom *href? Will my use case work on Facebook?
I'm trying to determine the practical difference between using the com.facebook.session.WebSession and com.facebook.session.JSSession. The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.
I have literally spent HOURS trying to solve this mystery... but simply can't seem to get hold of it. I am using the same code lines (literally!) as the example here (official adobe tutorial) and I get different result.

Everything works fine, i.e. everything till it is time to fire the loggedin event. I get asked to log in and all permissions are asked correctly. After I log myself in to facebook, the loggedin event doesn't fire. Is there any way of solving this problem??
i need to connect to have a button on my website that connects to facebook (if not already logged in) and posts to the users wall.I've only done this from within an iFrame - do i still need AppId etc etc?
I have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :
function postToFeed() { var obj = { method: 'feed',[code].........
I've recently used the 'Static HTML' application to add autoplaying flash content to a Facebook Page.Nothing too fancy, no sound, and only a few secs long. Now, Facebook say:-"Apps on Pages must not host media that plays automatically without a user's interaction."
What do they mean by 'Media' exactly? I can understand a ban on autoplaying audio content but does the ban extend to something as harmless as an animated GIF? Or more to the point, does an autoplaying .swf file fall under this?
Lastly, what course of action would Facebook take if I did violate this rule? Would they issue a warning (giving me an opportunity to remove the 'offending' item) or would they just shut down my page without any consultation?
I can't find in the Adobe Facebook API how to log the user out of Facebook. The FacebookSessionUtil (and the related sessions and Facebook classes) all have a .logout() function, which will invalidate the user's current *session* within the swf, but it doesn't log the user out of Facebook.
What am I missing here? How are you supposed to log the user out of Facebook with this API? Since it's part of the TOS for Facebook Connect apps, you'd think this would be available in the API somewhere.
After I upload a photo on a desktop facebook application i need to store it's post id in a database. From the facebook ActionScript SDK documentation:pi() methodpublic static function api(method:String, callback:Function, params:* = null, requestMethod:String = GET):voidMakes a new request on the Facebook Graph API.Parameters [...]callback:Function — Method that will be called when this request is complete The handler must have the signature of callback(result:Object, fail:Object); On success, result will be the object data returned from Facebook. On fail, result will be null and fail will contain information about the error.
So I implemented my callback function as follows: protected function handleUploadComplete(response:Object, fail:Object):void{ status = (response) ? 'Success' : 'Error';
Making one last plea on here as two attempts at contacting Adobe support have failed miserably. Both "techs" linked me to 2.6, which as we know, doesn't work with CS5.So before I redo my file code for SWFKit, and ditch AIR for this project, I'm hoping someone on here has a copy of the extension and can get it to me via dropbox or something.
I use firebug a lot for my work. Recetnly I have begun to start embedding swfs into html pages, and they don't always work (no!) - debugging can be quite a slow process.
Is there a way I can use firebug to peer inside my swf - often the errors are stupid like pulling in assets with incorrect urls. Perhaps someone could recommend a firebug extension?
I'd like to create an API for my site. I have all the features almost working for one of my games (save, load, unlock achievement, submit score), but an API would make it a lot easier to integrate the features into new games.
I am working with breeze server (Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro) and when I upload an .flv or .swf it creates a URL to the files location where there is no file extension.ow I got an fla file where I got a movieclip and buttons. Each time a user presses a button it should play the file linked to that button in the movieclip.I managed to get this working using the following:
I need to know how to take the main file for the forum, which is a swf and load it into the main swf.. without the swf extension. so in other words I need to know how to put a url in flash so instead of being mysite.net/forum.swf I would need it to be just mysite.net
the reason I cannot load the file directly is because it will just loop and do nothing if I do... were as the url itself loads off of the whole site not just that one file and it works perfectly when I use just the url without the file in it.
I know this is possible with java script and possibly a couple other things such as xml... but I don't know how to do it. so if you can please let me know how I am to embed a website that is based on flash into a current swf, on the same server please let me know in detail how to do it... try and remember I am not very knowledgeable in java or even flash... so please be specific about what I need to do
Is there way to set the extension of a file using Adobe Air's flash.filesystem? Using the browseForOpen function you can set the FileFilter, limiting the files types available. However when using browseForSave you can not set a fileFilter or fileExtension. The file extension has to be entered manually in the SaveFileDialog. The File.extension property associated with the selected file is read-only. Does anyone know of a work around or anything that I could do to not enter the file Extension manually.
